Almost to 10,000! HECK YEA! I threw in $2 bucks. THanks man for doing this! Love how the Orion is really open sounding with a great high end roll off way up to where adding a tweeter to this will make it EASY for a quality 2 way system. I'm not a fan of the open magnet gap of the phase plug being open in a car environment due to crap getting into the magnetic gap. But BOY is the SOUND worth it. Its still amazes me that the companies that make this gear only show them off at shows. Not everyone gets to go to SEMA or CES so we can hear them. $120 each is a BIT stiff. But to be honest? I have dropped down $400 bucks on just a Pair of tweeters before (Dynaudio) and you really do get what you pay for in tweeters. I have to admit that this is my FAVORITE UA-cam channel find this year. A guy just doing what he loves. And you can see it. No Fake BS. Just real world First Impressions. Its about dang time. The older guys like Exo Controlato, and Mazda use to do this all the time. And I miss that part of youtube. Glad it's coming back.

Reviewing subs or racing his gas powered r c car. Just bc his videos are not just car audio anymore doesnt mean ppl can throw him under the bus.

You only want one source to have the settings set up and everything else be flat, such as having the crossovers set only through the amp and the head unit to flat and everything off or vise versa.
You gotta do a test on the Crescendo Audio PWX and Ultra-Neo series. They are only like 50 to 75 bucks a piece. I'm either getting those, or the Orion XPM654MBF.
Do you perform any break in procedure? All speakers change, especially in the bass/ mid-bass region. I suspect that pro audio style speakers with treated accordion surrounds may take even longer to fully break in. I have had my Eminence in for 6 months and I swear they are still changing. They took a month before the bass became satisfying.
For future reference when ever mounting the speakers in boxes, try as much as possible to have all boxes and specs. The same as mounting depth box size and materials used are all factors that affect results
He uses so many different speakers, it would be a waste of money to have a box for each of them, he's not sponsored, so it will get expensive very quick, this is more a general comparison for door speakers, so the box size wouldn't make a difference if they're eventually going to be put in doors

If you have to raise up one speaker to fit the magnet you should make both boxes the same because you are adding volume to the enclosure on one and not the other to be equal the boxes should be the same for honest test .

Go with a decent brand with high sensitivity. Crutchfield will show you what will fit in your application and will even suggest a speaker for you based on what you're working with in your setup.
Can I know the tunning frequency of both speakers? Because both are MIDBASS speakers, Midbass can be tunned from about 125Hz to 2.5kHz, maybe more. Like for me, having experience in the car-audio sector, and have used Orion speaker and squeezed to get the top performance, I can recommend you to start midbass settings with lower X'Over points. It's good you do a comparison, and I know the Orion Speaker with proper midbass tune (Because that speaker was made for MIDBASS) you can get a better result and better output. That is my personal opinion. I know both brands are good speakers. Have a nice day, keep it up with the good work!
next time you put foam in to lift the speaker to fit you must do it to both as your increasing the cu feet of air space and it changes the fq and power handling. the orion with more air space will have less power handling but lower fq . and sundown under rate there speakers big timethere true rms is close to double the listed rms.
Not necessarily tho, the only reason he lifts it up is because the magnet is too big, and with being bigger it takes alot more space(less cuft), if anything he's more balancing the air space, if theres a difference it should be minor and not affect the sound much

I love my 4 st400s. Plenty loud and clear. I play them crossed over at 5khz and they definitely impressed me. Because they handle the voices well, I am able to lower the crossovers to my 4 sundown neoprov3 6.5s, to about 4khz, and beat the hell out of them with more power.....love the seleniums
