Wow, so much goes into running a business! It's awesome that you have lists for every aspect in case you need to check it :) Good tip about not worrying if you score a 4. I think it's great that these forms want you to separate foods, have an allergen list, pest control, and information about suppliers! Keeping records of everything is so helpful! WOW, amazing, thank you, thank you, thank you. I have watched your video from beginning to end, completing the pack as I went, noting down things I needed to do as I completed page by page. I have my fist inspection in 2 weeks and you are right, I am nervous because my kitchen is used daily by my family for the family but fingers crossed, upon a good inspection rating, I can offer an extended service to my clients by cooking the occasional bake for them etc, rather than at their houses, which is what I currently do. Thanks for all the info on this. I have been registered for 3 years now as a home food business and obviously been inspected (5* rating YAY!), but have never had to fill this out. I don't believe it is compulsary, but then again, one of the annoying things I have found talking to fellow home bakers is that each council seems to have their own rules. I might just download and fill out anyway. It wouldnt hurt I guess.

(I usually only bake 2 or three days a week) 2. Should the 'cleaning schedule' be on display? I am just wondering how you would 'prove' that it is being carried out - I hope that's not a daft question.
It depends you would have to ask your inspector. As mine didn’t advise me to fill out the diary as I have other forms of recording temperatures etc. But it’s only baking days if applicable. The cleaning schedule is on my fridge they have to trust your doing it I guess, I record mine for my memory as I’m very busy so may forget but otherwise I guess if the kitchens not clean then you aren’t doing it right c

I just purchase 'food safe professional hand wash' type that into amazon and choose the preferred one. I advised the inspector that not all have the code on the label but that was fine :)
Unfortunately I don't know the answer to that one, I have heard you can ask for a retake (to confirm they were write the first time) but to do a revisit you might have to wait :)

Hey, maybe this is the 2019 version for caterers there are a few variations of sfbb packs. There's roughly 105 pages If i remember rightly so if you have that many then it may be that its changed :) Do you know which ones your missing as if they are key topics I could advise whether I think they would have been taken out in a newer version. thanks
Yes just once then keep the diary/logs up to date e.g temperature checks will be daily. This will need to be filled out prior to an inspection as most inspectors will want to check it

Thanks for watching! I printed the whole pack as I prefer to write hand written notes but I believe having it filled out on the computer is fine. I didn't do so as at the time my computer was in my bedroom. Thanks x
I registered as a sole trader I believe, that's more for if you don't plan to have staff and it also means all financial liability is on the owner. There's also different tax and profit percentages for each. I would recommend researching the differences between the two and deciding which one suits you more :)

I use a carex professional one (I don’t have the bottle to confirm as I empty it into a dispenser) but I think it’s one that complies. In the safer food pack it advises “ideally it should meet standards to provide extra precautions against harmful bacteria” hope this helps 🙂

Thanks for watching, I'm glad it was helpful! As far as i am aware you can register once you've earned £1000 or at the end of the financial year e.g April 21 which I am doing. However as you have a part time job you may hit the £11,000 threshold and amy need to do so earlier. It might be something you can ask your health officer and they may be able to give more info. Another reason some people register earlier is to have more years on the books e.g for a mortgage which is why I plan to this April x

A lot of it isn’t relevant for bakers but as a baking business I managed to fill it out and it wasn’t too bad. Just label anything not needed with n/a
