Oh my goodness. Will there be an update or brief touch base with these couples in the future? It would be so cool to see & hear their perspective or where they are today now
"We share the same cultural history. I dont have to translate my blackness to her." Ooh! Come through. And this is why I want a black man. I need to get out of Seattle.
There is a special anointing that a married couple has. May God continue to bless your vision as you share with the world. Marriage is intentional work and with God you can make it. God bless you all.
I notice that when black women are saying that we want pure black love that we are being called racist and it's nothing to do with racism it's just that it's a preference to be able to share that love with someone like yourself someone who understands your background someone who understands your struggles there is nothing wrong with wanting to have black love black children and a strong black family and it's so sad that we have to accept something that we don't want to expect when you see the title black love that's what we're expecting to see black love
It would have been nice to have a platform of only BLACKLOVE not mixed. Everywhere else we are pushed to see mixed mixed mixed it would have been nice to have a place to come to of our own to see BLACKLOVE. However for the other couples it's lovely to see
Truly beautiful in every way imaginable and truly a fairy tale.... Some black women are not that fortunate just like what we've been through but we deserve our love and we deserve you a true King the BLACK MAN!
I'm glad I stumbled upon this. ♥ I loved all of the couples. Even the interracial one. But especially Roxie and Armand & Tanya and Amel. They are such goals!!! ♣♥
Black love is black love whether interracial or not. We as blacks complain about prejudice often but we don't see when we do it. The lesson in this is to see what we can learn from each couple's experience to improve upon our marriage whether now or when you marry later. People sometimes think it's going to be better if we marry the same culture, race, creed. No. Each person comes from a different household with different thought processes. When you come together as a married couple it can be very challenging. I know from experience. My husband and I may share the same skin color and religion but we don't share the same culture. I'm pretty laid back until you push me. I'm flexible and open for the most part but I have my own mind...not a follower. However my husband tried to push his culture instead of just letting our marriage be about the both of us. Just let it flow and build our own family. After some verbal exchanges over the 4 yrs, he's learning. Better than it used to be.
focus on the point which is a strong family/household/foundation for the community and younger generation. As long as there is one black person involved it automatically should qualify as 'black love'. Don't make it about what it's not people. stay focused
@@chisommeceber7600 That doesn't make any sense. You can't have one person being black and another person from a different race and then say, this is black love. Are you dense?? This now becomes interracial love. You need!!!!!!( TWO blacks) for it to be black love. Nd it has nothing to do about being negative or focusing" on love. It clearly states #ThisisblackloveFilm. So in other words, this video is misleading. I clicked just to watch about black love. I was excited until I seen the interracial couple. Not that I'm against it. But It's not black love. These people straight up lied, nd your confused.
To each his own, but it’s weird to me that the guy thought it was necessary and funny to make his wife feel forgotten and under appreciated on Valentine’s Day because he was proposing the next day...it was cruel for no reason.
This is good. I skipped over the interracial couple though. I dont want to see that ish here. Im pretty sure there are plenty of platforms for mixed couples where black couples arent included.
I'm not against Nathan & Shanada Love it's beautiful what they have. However the title is clear "Black Love" Nathan & Shanada has love but certainly not black love.
Nathan and Shanda, I didn’t mind you being mixed race. I just didn’t understand the narrative. What were you here to teach us about love? More specifically black love? Also, this is beautiful (the video touched my heart)
Seems like what she was saying in this episode is that she felt a responsibility to teach him about her/our culture. Although he will never know what it's like to be African American, their relationship is an example of how others specifically a spouse can learn about the culture
Hey, Vince! Nah, it's not that. We're a private entity and didn't have to be politically correct for anyone. Our own dollars and resources made this project possible, giving us full control of who we cast and the stories we incorporated into the series. We had Nathan & Shanada on the show because we appreciated their narrative: particularly Shanada's perspective that her white husband is her ally. As content creators, we respect the art of story telling, value the lived experiences of our cast and also acknowledge varying perspectives. Thanks for participating in the conversation!
The Larker Collective Ok, I was just a little confused because I thought that by definition "Black Love" was specific to two black people. I mean love who you love no doubt, but in this forum it seems out of place to me
Shanada rocks up at an interview with her hair busted like that? Haven't heard a word she said coz I'm so distracted.Did she seriously not give a damn? Heaven, give me strength...lol
Unfortunately, and I don't want to seem judgmental and knock down another black woman, but I was thinking the same. :/ I only say this because I think representation is everything ... She and her husband could have been a little more presentable. However I am interested in hearing their narrative.
Funny how when the men r talking in everything that I watch with husbands & wives, how the wife always turns her head directly toward her husband & I mean in everything that I see with a husband & a wife. 😊
5:05 what a shame when everything in your home was black orientated in terms of food, t.v and music why was it that there wasn't a foundation of history teaching. What an advantage to go to school and teach them a thing or two, with so much inaccuracies, lies and misrepresentation how wonderful it would have been to turn to them and put them straight on many aspects instead of looking at them wide eyed. I'm British I really enjoy watching however, I'm bemused why there's a white man depicted in black love🤔. Love is love but this is black love.

Hi Harold, we understand your perspective. As creators, we get to decide what our platform for Black Love means..we chose to be inclusive when it came to black people who married outside of the black race. It's less about Nathan and more about Shanada. Our stance is: Shanada's love for her husband is valid- whether or not we like or agree with the color of her husband's skin. Your response continues the conversation we intended to start. Thanks for chiming in!
The Larker Collective Objectively, I get it. But as I've gotten older I've had the clarity of history to show me, and this is my opinion, that our inclusive nature has set us back. I do feel some type of way to see a white man and black woman together but I am willing to listen to anyone's filter of perception. The way I pose it to people is this: If you had the chance to hold power of God, would you? If you could take dominion over her, would you? It just seems like a power complex and I don't see how their intentions can be organically pure and good.
I want to be on with my husband of 4 years we are young. We got married at 25 and it’s definitely no guide to married like Married For Dummies. I want to share our experience being young black, developing and married in this “insta” generation
In my opinion Interracial love isn't black love, and from the historical record of slavery history, most of our people practice Willie Lynch syndrome and white Supremacy, which causes our people to suffered from plantation Psychosis. Love who you love. But don't add interracial couples into the topic of Black Love.
Your first sentence didn't make your second sentence less racist.

exactly
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thank you! Do a separate segment for those couples!
This is an awesome show, and we need more of it, and like it.

Interracial couple love isn't black love. Can we get a all black show. Can we get a show with a black family. Black man and woman black kids.
They always have to push that agenda, because most black folks believe that liberation of any kind, is always associated with whiteness.
Most Black folks believe what about white folks and our freedom? Where do you live that you believe that fake news?

Helps to not feed into the prescripted narrative or expectations from any side.
Enough said, I love this!

Liz abella you're right it isn't black love which doesn't fit the title of the video
Nathan and Shanda, I didn’t mind you being mixed race. I just didn’t understand the narrative.

that is interracial love.
I was scrolling waiting on this comment. It’s showing the black persons experience dating outside of their race
Okay, No, Black love is Black love and I am not prejudiced. That is a mixed race couple and not a Black couple!
