Huawei FreeClip Review - What Even Are These???

The most comfortable wireless earbuds of 2023? Absolutely.
The Huawei FreeClip are open-fit wireless earbuds with a difference - they don't sit in your ear, they don't offer any noise cancelling, and they embrace ambient sound with a mixed-reality listening experience.
But who are these for?
Looking like a pair of ear hoops and costing £179.99 / $225, the FreeClip aren't cheap and won't replace your ANC buds or over-ear headphones, but are they a great second pair of buds. Great for safety when you want to be aware of your environment, an office when you want to be able to hear colleagues, or your home when you need to hear someone at the door or listen out for a child.
But what do you think, are they an awesome gadget, or a solution to a problem no body had? Enjoy the full review and let me know what you think of the Huawei FreeClips in the comments .

Huawei has a unique way of understanding and presenting what truly resonates with my interests and preferences.
Great to have you back. I had no idea these existed, really interesting to see Huawei trying something different because we've been missing innovation in ear buds. I don't care about gimmicks like transparent design, but I do love seeing companies trying to be genuinely innovative.
"something different" when Sony ambie literally designed this concept more than 7 years ago...
@@fantasytky28 That's fair but also - how many designs do we see like it today? Can't even buy the latest Sony Ambie's easily across some parts of the world. So in today's market it still is something different.
@@victorypigeon it would be true if u didn't mentioned innovation.
What Huawei done here is not innovation. They are just doing minor changes or improvement on what Sony have already innovated.
Before Sony ambie, there was no this shape of earclip product, Sony innovate with a new shape and release this new design product (structural)
Huawei on the other hand take on the existing design and incremental changes or improvement on top (none structural, more to incidental).
@@fantasytky28 Fair, but my point around innovation was more broad - so many earbuds look the same right now. Sony's been doing some cool design stuff with Linkbuds, too. In terms of 'copying' we could easily say the same of Sony for other products - there's only so many shapes and designs around. And if Huawei can make it work, good on them. I'm still loving my XM4s (in-ear and headphones), but maybe this clip design is good for others.
I bought this and i love it!
I can hear the sorounding
Not painful!
Dont need to stuck in my ear
Unique
Very light!
Everything is perfect and in my daily use. Whether im indoor or outdoor. Dont need to remove it. Sometimes i forgot im wearing it!!!
Hey. Can you please tell id about the sound quality. And call experience
@@user-ef9rk2wh6esound quality is good for open ear, If u don't mind noise cancelling it's enough. Call quality clear for me even in the crowd
Good to see you back basil these ear buds are very interesting got so used to ear buds that completely cover my ear my Sony xb700 my soundcore life p2 hopefully Huawei will continue with these syle of buds improving them along the way they could even make a in ear version to
please bring more of these kind! they are awesome for sports! thanks.
Love seeing something different, even if it’s not everyone’s taste. Fun to see innovation in design. Thanks for the video
Thanks for the comment Olivier!
Yea. The innovation that Sony ambie done continuously more than 7 years ago
the innovation anker does years ago.. this one is as unique.
great video. makes me think of the meta glasses, where you can listen but hear your envionmrnt. i wonder if the world will be finding this more useful now
Yeah, really good point. Both indulgent purchases that are pretty useless in a super noisy environment but decent as a second or third way of listening. Good seeing you in Dubai!
juz bought one recently.. it is very cool
Are they available in the USA? Tried reaching out to them but didn't receive anything
At first I didnt inow what to think of these. But now i think they're very cool. It's a subtle, alternative look.
Thanks for the Review they look kinda interesting tho
Now this is new
Where to purchase in the US?
Hey man, how's SOAD?
Thanks for sharing. Does it has multipoint pairing and connection? meaning is it possible to connect to two devices at the same time?
Yes it does.
@tech_edit noted with thanks and great to hear that:)
❤luv them, they are not perfect, not for everyone but they excellent depending on the occasion
Are these good for people with small ears?
i cant keep earbuds in my ear bc my ears are so small but i think i need noise canceling too idk if these are for me
How’s the audio quality compare to other competitors like airpods?
there is AI Life. apps.. there is EQ I thnk it's as good as airpod.. except no anc
Thanks.....what about call quality please ?
Good when you're indoors and it isn't too noisy. Bad when outdoors and it is noisy.
@@tech_edit Thank you. I was hoping for the mics to be better, like the Freebuds Pro (which blow everything else out of the water at this moment); if the mics were great, I would have gone for them since phone calls are my main use case (followed by listening to podcasts).
Most important question is can i use these in library?? Can person next to me hear songs?
As long as you have it below 50% volume, yes
What is the little tablet you were holding please
That's the OnePlus Open (or OPPO Find N3) - it's a foldable - here's my full review: ua-cam.com/video/bFXzLpMV_r4/v-deo.html
Can someone nearby hear what you are listen too and did the sound get pushed only in the ear of thee person who wear them?
Only if you put it at >50% volume
I have the bose equivalent. They are amazing.
NO active ANC ??!!!??? 😱😱😱 Well - I'll wait for the NEXT version - WITH the ANC !
I love open designs. Love my Buds Beans... ops, Live 😅
where can I buy it in the USA?
Only on import using a website like AliExpress.
I have the Huawei freeclip. I do believe it is a product that is great for indoor not too noisy space.
Pro
Innovative
Stays on
great for indoor
it fits anyone
comfortable
Long battery Life
Con
Too expensive
sound quality is dependent on the location
it drowns in planes, trains etc.
when on a phone call your background noise can be heard by the person you are speaking to
kudos to Huawei for the first generation, I believe this product will get better from the second generation on, they will need to make some adjustments to the speaker compartment, they might have noise cancellation when making a phone call ETC..
What about privacy? Can the people around me hear what I'm listening to? Can I still hear the music while being in a noisy environment like subway or on a train?
I live in Canada and cannot find any information on how to buy them. Even the parent company knows nothing about them, HELP!!!
They are on Amazon
Finally a rival to original Linkbuds from Sony
Lol bro Sony ambie literally done this concept 7 years ago
Soundcore c30i
Is it good for calling?
Yes
how is the beat
Thanks but call quality please ?
Good indoors and in a relatively quiet environment. Not good outdoors with a lot of noise as they aren't always easy to hear.
Which one should I get ,huwawi freebuds 5 or this one ,I'm so confused 😢
If they're your main pair of earbuds, then get the FreeBuds 5. They are less style-focused, but you can use them in more scenarios. If you have other in-ear headphones you like using, and these are a second pair, then the FreeClips will add different use-cases, so may be a better shout.
@@tech_edit thanks, I think I'll go with the freebuds 5👍😊
No problem! Have a great day - Basil
i would get both, so i could switch depending on the occasion
I like them since I hate in ear headphones.
That's why im using Samsung Bud's live.
Yeah, I find open fit stay in my ears way better. My favourites are actually the FreeBuds 4. Hope you're enjoying your buds!
@@tech_edit definitely I am. Thanks for this good review.
what about the call quality?
Good indoors, bad outdoors. Either way they are better for calls than the new Bose open fit buds.
@@tech_edit thanks for the update. Does it have an embedded microphone in the clips? How's the microphone sound quality on these free clips?
I like it i don't like putting ear pods inside
me too.. that's y I bought this recently. it's cool
what phone is it?
The foldable? A OnePlus Open and Oppo Find N3.
Definitely different, but not for me!
Soundcore C30I
Do you feel your outer ear compressed?
Does people nearby hear the sound ?
People didn't report hearing nearby sound even at high volumes. There is a little bit of a compressed sensation when you take them off, but while wearing them, I often forgot I was wearing anything.
nope
"FTW"? For the win? What's for the win?
Hi, posing the question - are they for the win? But also, attempting to imply they're a little wtf as well. Clearly my thumbnail skills need work if I'm having to explain it 😅 - hope you enjoyed the video. Basil

给谁?当然是给在路上开车或者骑车,要么就是摸鱼啦😂😂
Generic earbuds of this design existed for years on online shops.
If this comment gets 100 likes, I will buy this freeclip
Good luck
@@the9prince Savage 🤣
Nah i will dislike so you won’t buy it. Why would anyone let youtube likes decide for him?
What a disgusting design
Amazing video🫶🏻
Are they water proof?
Thanks 🙌 Dust and water resistant, so fine for rain or the gym but you won't want to take them swimming or dunk them.
@@tech_edit so if I took a shower with them, they’re going to be fine, right?
@@Rflgqno sir
@@Rflgqwhy ppl shower with earbuds/tws in the first place 😅
