I have watched many sewing videos and I must say that you are the best sewing teacher
Oh wow, thank you so much Jacqueline 😁
They are Ditty bags. When I was in Basic Training back in 1966-1969. We (Women's Army Corps trainees) each had to carry one of these Ditty bags (in Forest Green) to our classes (to hold our necessary items in). They also made great Shoe Shine Kits, Sewing/Repair Kits, and First Aid Kits. We bought ours at the PX. I'm glad to see them being made and offered again. Wonderful. Thank you.
Love it Arvetta. You've just given me an idea for another bag 😂😂
Thank you dear fot your service. United States Army, here.
Loved watching the dog play such a nice interruption
As needy as she can get, Coco brings us so much joy😀
I saw the dog, and that was it. I had to subscribe!😢
Also, I appreciate your clear instructions! ❤
haha Welcome. That's Coco. She's adorable😁
Holy Moly! You have completely simplified and removed so many steps from other pattern/tutorials! This is extremely helpful. Thank you. Many of these techniques will be useful in several types of bags. What a fantastic video. Definitely the most helpful I’ve seen in years!
Oh wow, thank you so much Christine 😊
Hi Christine,I love watching your videos, the camera work is brilliant, and as a beginner I am learning a lot visually. Thank you so much for helping us💐🌺
Thank you Tina 😀
Excellent work! Your little secret about the fish going the wrong way is safe with me, Coco and the entire internet! 😉😜😆
Haha, I'm sure Coco will blab
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs For a treat she'll even make up stuff! 😉🤣
I have made these in a larger size for the young girls in our family who have everything and they all loved them. And more importantly, used them. I buy cute zips with ring pulls in different colours that add to the cuteness (and cost if you are making to sell). I thoroughly recommend these as a handmade gift 🎁
They certainly are a great gift Sue 😀
By accident I found this video. So glad I did. 👍❤️👍 Your instructions were very clear and understandable. I love how you explain how to hide all the seams. You give great tips for how to sew in multiples. You are very talented and your finished bags are so professional looking - inside and out. Thank you. I’ve subscribed and look forward to watching more from you.
Thank you Rosemary 🌝
You are such a good teacher! You give crystal clear instructions. Thank you!
Thank you so much Trine 😀
Thank you so much again Christine - you’re the very best teacher on UA-cam. And I love the way you point out little mistakes too! I make loads of mistakes and am forever unpicking 😊x
Thank you so much Synlvia. That's so nice of you to day😊
I love watching you teach me how to sew things. These bags are cute.
Thanks Lucille😀
Love these bags! The fish one looks like you meant to do that. 🤗💗
Let's call it a design feature😁
Your a wonderful teacher..I enjoy all you do.. Smiles from ny
Thanks Dolores😀
Hi, wow you're very creative! I've just bought my first sewing machine from spotlight 4 days ago and I'm 34.
I never grew up around sewing. I think this is very cool. I've subscribed
Welcome to the channel. I hope you get many decades of enjoyment out of your new sewing journey😀
I love the idea of making box corner templates!
Thanks Rhonda. It certainly saves a lot of time 😀
I think your videos are just awesome. Your up close video shots make learning very easy. Your videos make me want to come Australia to meet you in person and check out your shop. Could you do a video about replacing front pockets on a pair denim jeans. I have a few of my favorite jeans in need of this and can’t seem to figure it out. Thank you again. God Bless you and your family.
That's so nice Roberta. Thank you. The jeans pockets are on my list😀
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs awesome. Thank you.
Thank you, Christine. I never knew a zipper had a lumpy side. Making these bags is really cute. Thanks.
You are so welcome Patricia. Thank you😀
I really love your design ideas, and your sewing steps that save time. Thank you for sharing!
You're very welcome BB😁
Don't mind me, I'm watching AGAIN! To make sure it's not too hard for me to make lol. I'm going to spotlight tomorrow to buy Fabric
Happy shopping!😀
Hi Christian. Thank you for another lovely video. I love the box bags, I look forward to seeing your posts. It was so lovely to see your beautiful baby girl again in your video today. I find as soon as I start sewing my boy wants to start playing ball or having a love, they certainly know how to pull on your heart strings. Xx
They sure do Sharon. Coco's so much fun to play with 😀
She is such a beautiful girl. We have German Shepard Max, we love him to bits. Xx
Great boxy bag. Love these. Coco looks delightful. Thanks for sharing her a bit. Made a huge one of these few years back to hold our artificial Xmas tree. It’s 39” tall and the 4 sides total about 28-30”. Holds everything, has a long recycled luggage double pull zip, and a sturdy hanging loop. We love it.
Edit: forgot to say …. I save all trimmings from zips and fold one side in half to use as the “tab”. Saves time and waste. People get a huge kick out of them when they finally notice what the tabs are made of. Fun.
I love the big boxxy bag idea. I do the same with my leftover zips when I use regular ones. So far nobody has noticed🤪😄
Wilson! Cocoa is so cute. My dog loves to play the same way with a basketball! I love your videos. You are an excellent teacher. The bags are great!
Thank you so much Cheryl 😀
Thanks Christine, this video has been very helpful! I particularly liked your tips for production sewing. I think I'll get myself organized to do just that!🌟
That's great Ana. Have fun getting organised 😀😀
Thank you for your videos. I never though I could make things on a sewing machine that would be worth selling or gifting. Your videos have made that possible!
That makes me so happy to hear Laurie. Thank you😊

You're very welcome Karla 😁

Awesome! Thank you Nancy 😀
Just want to thank you for your channel. I have made your grocery bag a few times now and they work out so well. I went to Vinnies and I managed to buy five metres of some sort of polycotton canvas for twenty dollars.
That's awesome! Great score on the fabric. I'm always on the hunt for more even though I definitely don't need it 🤣
Thank you Christine. So grateful for all your videos and shares. You make it look simple and beautiful
You are so welcome! Thank you 😊

Love Your videos, I spent the weekend making shoe bags in between Mother’s Day visitors, i had to adjust them to fit my large footed sons shoes. Everyone that visited over the weekend was given a bag! Now I’m going to start on these box bags. Lol

Thank you. I like your idea of making the templates for the box corners. Certainly would save time from measuring every bag I have made.
I use my templates almost daily Charlotte. They're such a timesaver 😀
The 2nd video I’ve watched of yours. I found you quite by accident and so glad I did. Really good clear instructions and very motivating - thank you and keep the pics of coco coming ❤️❤️
Thanks Jane. Coco will make sure to pop in now and then🤪

You are so welcome Jennie😀
Love it naming the ball Wilson like the movie 😅 🇨🇦
Haha, we have names for all of Coco's toys 😄
Excellent. Sandra B. ❤️
Thanks Sandra😁
A very thorough demonstration of a lined boxed bag. In order to speed up production I usually sew a lined flat bag with a centred zipper. Then cut out the corners and sew French seams to box the bag. The French seams are easy to sew and help the bag to keep the box shape. Sew the first line of each corner from the right side and then enclose the raw edges from the lining side, so that the bulk of the seam is on the inside. I also use grosgrain ribbon for the tabs, which reduces the sewing steps. I developed this method when sewing in the hoop based embroidered bags, where I add stitched guidelines for the boxed corners as part of the design. The French seams are completed out of the hoop.
Great idea Helen. I usually use ribbon, bias strips etc as well. Whatever I have handy at the time 😀
Great instructions, Christine. I love your videos.
Thank you so much Barbara 😀
Lovely video the bags are beautiful and you make it easy to understand, thank you for sharing your pattern with us

Your tutorials are the BEST!
Do you have a tutorial for making a one zipper tote bag to carry one bottle of wine?

Thank you !! You have helped me out so much. It’s so easy to follow your instruction. I have been struggling with a farmers apron I am trying to make for my Sister. I have attempted to make 3 so far. But failed! I would love to see a video on a farmers apron. Thank you!
I've added the farmer's apron to the list. Am doing some research on it. If you have a pic in mind, just send me an email, and I'll work something out 😀
Thank you! 💝
You're very welcome Laura😀
I love!
Thanks Debbie😁
Thank you Christine for sharing your ideas & skills. This little box bag is great. Is there a particular set of measurements for each size? ... 6.5" X 9.5".... cut out square 1.5" 8.5" X 10.5"... cut out square ???????
Hi Jill, I don't have a particular set of measurements, as most of what I do is with remnants and scrap fabric. The cut outs for squares also vary depending on the size of the bags I make. The smaller the bag, the smaller my corners are. I've had anothe ask a similar question on this. I'm wondering if perhaps I should do a video on the varying sizes and corners. What do you think?😀
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs I think that would be sew helpful for those of us just starting on this amazing journey... My head is buzzing with how to use my scrap fabrics instead of another quilt with 300/ 3.5' squares... not that there's anything wrong with that.......LOL
Thank you for sharing a wonderful video. This is very helpful.
Glad it was helpful Fatoom 😀
Hi Christine thankyou for sharing .its really helpful .i love your videos.
Thanks Dorothy 🙂
Thank you for the great video and instructions.
You are welcome Paris 😀
