- In this episode of TFBTV Show Time, @JamesReeves is at EnforceTac in Germany to speak with @steyr_arms about the new Steyr DMR. The Steyr DMR is, obviously, a designated marksman rifle with incredible statistics: It weighs less than 7 pounds, can be chambered in .308, 6.5 Creedmoor, or .277 FURY/6.8x51mm AND it will shoot sub MOA, according to Steyr. This rifle has not been produced yet but it was just unveiled - check today's video for details and SUBSCRIBE to Show Time for more updates from Enforce Tac and IWA.

this guy is the best sales rep ever
the man
No way, no one beats Mario ua-cam.com/video/4b-cmg5Blfk/v-deo.html
@@TFBTVShowTime He's the jolliest sales rep ever. The accent helps.
@@hoilst265 I know right? The accent and the attitude screams “this is great engineering”! 😂
Austrians are brilliant people - that´s at least what Billy Wilder said and Austrian himself - so he knew exactly what he was talking about.
Steyr always has a unique take that is worth looking at.
Agreed, they do things a little different, a lot of right, and often ~10-20% over what I'm willing to pay lol
So does ur mom
The AUG made the m16 look not as alien as it did and to think it was many decades ago they designed them. It was just too sci fi i think. So it looks absolutely magnificent but the m16 ended up being better to upgrade and adapt. If im not mistaken it has quick swap barrel. Its still alive and well in the hearts and minds of people. Its in many video games.
@@TheAnnoyingBoss Yeah I've talked to soldiers in Australia who said they'd prefer an AUG over an AR platform any day.
The bullpup design I think makes shouldering the rifle more comfortable, and the AUG is a shorter weapon with the same full length barrel too. The complaint you always hear with a bull-pup is the trigger, and the AUG supposedly even has one of the best feeling bull-pup triggers.
It’s actually in that case pronounced “stare”
🤣 My people thank you for the festive Deutsch intro!
It's DEUTSCH
*Deutsch
DEUTSCHLAND UBER ALLES 😂
Man. What a dream rifle. Give it to us in .308 with a 16-20 inch barrel and somewhere around 2 grand and you’ll have the market for a battle rifle absolutely cornered
Literally. Only thing that threw me off is when I thought he said 14 inch barrel, but if it’s going to be a quick change barrel I’m willing to bet they’ll offer longer barrel lengths
I'd like to see it, but there's no way that's gonna be around $2k on the US market.
@@johnqpublic2718 agreed, probably closer to $4k, that's just what real battle rifles go for these days.
Steyr is a fairly expensive brand but their quality is amazing (based on their pcp target air rifles/pistols, of which I own 3). So I don’t think you can get this for under 3 grand)
At 2k USD, it is very comparable to many already available 308 piston DMR options. Robinson XCR, POF Revolution, PWS Mk216/Mk218. It'll be interesting to see how well the new Steyr holds zero from cold bore and during sustained firing vs those. Personally, I'd rather the customization of the XCR than the other options.
Almost broke my heart when he said he didn't think it could make it to the US but then he made everything all right when he finished his sentence.
Just the typical austrian sense of humor. First you fuck with your audience only to give them hope again :D
Nice to see Steyr still in the game.
His voice had me waiting for him to say "let me show you it's features"
I'd absolutely buy this if it costs in the $2 grand price range. It looks awesome and is feature packed. Very nice gun and it comes from a company with a very well respected pedigree. I'm very interested. Best looking AR10 I've seen in a while.
If they could sell a sub-MOA semi-auto gun for around 2 grand, it's a steal
There's almost no chance of it being 2 grand. It's a sub-MOA gun and it's a Steyr.
@@drownthepoor yea steyr rifles usually are one the more expensive side...even for austrians buying it from a shop right next to the factory.
Yeah I'd buy one at half price too.
They will have competition from guys building a standard AR308 platform with adams arms gas pistons, custom charging handles and adj gas systems that already exist. This can be done for less than $1000.
I hope the Steyr AR 10 makes it to the US. I might even sell my current.308 to buy it if it lives up to what is being said.
Why? Have two.
He sounded confident they are "bringing" it to the U.S. he did mention U.S. production worst case scenario.
Only hold up would be price. You will pay for the name and quality - sub moa light weight gun
@@yuriorlov47 I like a best and most useful in various calibers. This Steyr, if it lives up to the hype I would sell my POF.
they make it with 14 inch barrels means NFA
Since Steyr has production facilities in the USA. They can finish the rifle with the 922R parts list to get a tactical rifle into the USA. Otherwise Steyr has to neuter the gun to make it a "sporting" rifle. It's like the problem with the Benelli M-4 shotgun. The Benelli shotgun that is imported to the USA is a "sporting" shotgun. The M-4 that everyone wants is the tactical version. For those that have a "sporting" Benelli M-4 you convert to the full tactical model with the parts made by Freedom Tactical Company. They make all the parts needed to fulfill the requirements of 922R rule of the ATF. You can either install the parts yourself or send your M-4 to Freedom Tactical for installation.
You may not have to do this since Steyr can send partially made rifles to the US as parts kits. And the US facility completes the rifle with the US made parts for final assembly. And yes the ATF is absolutely useless. Definitely wanting to completely disarm all Americans. Not just the criminals. Making policies that have the same impact of felony laws. Only the Congress and Senate can make such laws. Not some bureaucratic agency.
As venerable as the ar15 is, I'm glad there are more ar-like rifles coming out but with side charging handles and bufferless stocks. This and and the cmmg dissent are definitely on my wishlist.
it's not "ar-like" in any way at all
@@WaterZer0 Lower is similar and probably you can take the rifle apart by separating the lower from the upper in the same way as any AR with the pin at the back. The outside is inspired by an AR in the same way as the Dissent (also uses a modified AR15 lower).
@@WaterZer0 "any way at all" uhmm it take Ar pattern mags thats one way and you can say at least 6 more things but hey what does it matter. Stop being a gun Nazi.
@@19DESERTFOX91 So a SCAR is an AR-15?
@@WaterZer0 the dna is in there bro. You can feel it.
Damn I want one, that bad boy with a 20" barrel would be a dream.
Even a 16 inch would be great
+ silencer 20” overal 28”
Or so.. squad in apc and ”pole” in Hand 😂
@@454FatJack Just fold the stock then, and who says you need a suppressor?
I used to own, way back in the 80's a Steyer Mannlicher 22-250 hand hammered barrel with an internal 7 round drum magazine. Finest rifle I ever owned.
18 or even better 20" barrel will make this gun a dream come true. I will absolutely buy it if they offer an 18 or 20" barrel model.
+ silencer added this is 23 or so, with 20” barrel …
i dont understand you guys, when they can make it sub MOA with a 14" barrel, why would you want to make your Boomstick 5 inches longer and a pound heavier??? just doesnt make sense to me...
@@sirrexo9263 My friend, with a longer barrel, you get higher velocity, you get more kinetic energy and you can shoot farther. Also, the sound that a short barrel 308 makes, will make everyone around you hate you :D The muzzle flash is way brighter and you get a lot of dust flying all over you. Recoil also increases when you have a shorter barrel. I have been asking myself the same question you just asked: Why do people wanna have a short barrel? :D lol I mean unless you are planning to clear rooms and tight corners, a short barrel doesn't do you much good. Weight? a few inches of barrel doesn't weight that much, but it gives you all the benefits I just mentioned ;)
@@125varma ok from this perspective you are right, i‘m used to shooting suppressed and a shorter Barrel is just a gift for me… especially because we load ammunition by ourselves and if we want a faster bullet we add more powder instead of more iron to the barrel. xD
We prefer adding grains instead of pounds when we have to carry that thing in the woods and mountains ;)
@@sirrexo9263 Well, you just killed me and my argument right there brother, I absolutely see your point and agree with you :)
James was so happy talking to Karl from his favorite movie
Wow. Awesome. Finally a gun manufacturer putting every modern option into a single rifle. Bravo👏.
And they trended for lightweight which i think matters a lot with these bricks. Real lean ar10s coming out
Welcome back to Europe James
I'm sure this will cost $3K+ but it honestly may be worth it. It looks like it may be the best ar10 on the market.
I'm thinking of getting or building an AR-10. Is there another model you know of that's good? Piston or direct-impingement wouldn't matter to me.
@@drownthepoorDaniel defense is good, aero precision is a good more affordable option, LMT and knights are good, Ruger just released one that looks pretty good for the price
@@drownthepoor Its either dirt poor aero/ruger, or gucci FN, KAC, LMT. You can probably buy a used LMT mws for $2500, thats what it cost around 2020 or so. Who knows now a days.
@@biunzRS My AR is from a local armory, and they also do AR-10's. I've been happy with it so I might end up getting it from them.
I'd love to have an FN FAL, and I'd consider that pretty much like an AR-10.
Unfortunately AKs, FALs, and many other rifles are banned in my insane state.
All of our AR-15's have to be HBAR barrels, and that might also be true for the 10's.
But an armorer told me that the HBAR requirement is for the 5.56-only, and that .223/5.56 doesn't have to be HBAR. Others have disagreed so who knows.
Basically I want a platform with a real scope for getting distance shots.
The only Steyr I've ever owned is my S9A1, which is my concealed carry pistol. I absolutely love that pistol! For years my favorite pistol to shoot was my Sig P226, but the Steyr has stolen that spot. Now I'm super excited and can't wait to get my hands on one of these!
I own many AR-15’s, in a half dozen calibers, but I’ve never really cared to own an AR-10….until I watched this! This looks like a home run to me, but IF Steyr delivers on all their stated goals, I think it could be a grand slam!
honestly, i'd buy one of these in 5.56 & in .308. This rifle does it for me. If it's $2k or under out the door, this thing is gonna romp the market.
No idea why it’s taken so long for companies to make competition for the SCAR. Such a no brainer.
It's not lol its $3500 or something
Considering what the AUG is priced at, the DMR will be $3k or more.
Where do people always get these delusional prices from lol
2k is a dream bruh 2500 would be nice even. dont expect it
Steyr is my favorite firearms manufacturer and I’m so happy they’re getting better at catering to the US market. Love Austrians
Now for the modernized Aug.
yeah wtf steyr where is the new aug you said you were going to import 5 years ago
The F88 Would like to shake your hands and wallet
First they need to return to the A3 SA
F90MBR
Just need to actually produce the CQC A3 lol
That looks really good. I like everything about it so far.
Steyr pistols have always been amazing and under appreciated
Already an AUG, C9A2MF, SBS96 and M95 owner. I'm anxiously awaiting this thing to hit the market.
I could listen to a mix tape of your outro music picks every day all day.
That is an amazing piece and a terrific way to advance the AR platform.
Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant! We have never seen anything like this on the market before! 🙂
Thanks for covering IWA. Please run by the Pedersoli booth. Maybe even have a look at the Walther GSP 500.
I’m sold based on nothing other than Irwin’s pronunciation of Steyr.
Yesshhh.
That Steyr rep puts a smile on my face!
I love that he actually says "UNF" for the thread specification, lol.
This is one of the more interesting things I've seen in a while. Can't wait for reviewers to get their hands on them. Hopefully this thing is as awesome as I think it is.
The coolest thing I from this show was Holosun's thermal holographic scope. Not on the market yet, but pricing is supposedly going to be around 1500. Look it up, it's wild.
Been shopping around for ar10s and battle rifles but after seeing this i think I'll have to hold out and start saving up for when this arrives on the market.
STEYR make great products. I have had there pistols and a rifle.
This is going to be a buy when it's available.
Will 100% buy - this is exactly what I’ve been looking for
I want to buy one just to make sure Irwin keeps his job. What a cool dude.
I'm a HUGE Steyr fan and plan on adding one of these to my stable of arms. Steyr is so underrated.
Steyr makes GREAT gear.
These reps seem like way straighter shooters than the majority of the domestic shots how boi's. Jolly and cutting to the point. I fuggin dig it.
They don't have to hype things for the peanut gallery, they're not trying to flog novelty guns to amateurs. Higher barrier to entry gets you a more knowledgeable customer base.
I will absolutely buy one of these if it ever makes it to the states
I dig it! Thanks for sharing.
I've never been hyped for a firearm like I am right now. Wish I could afford it.
Dudes. You have the best job in the world. I know you all work your assess off to produce these videos, but damn. What I wouldn’t give to trade places with you for a month. Keep it up. Keep the vids coming. And stay safe out there.
I’d put it in my collection, good looking gun, James ya gotta get one for review
Dude! Swing by FN booth and gave us a tour around HiPer.. 🙏🏼
It looks great!
I love this development!
You should have reminded them that they make pistols when you were over there. I think they forgot.
They do make that funky Glock copy, apparently it’s actually really good 👍
@@Bill-dj4sj do they make a bad gun?
@@Bill-dj4sj I own four of them. Better than glock in every way.
@@Bill-dj4sj it’s not a Glock copy.
The only similarities are that the Steyr pistols also have a polymer frame and that they are striker fired, but asides from that they are pretty different.
I personally think their triggers are better and that the lower bore axis makes them more comfortable to shoot. Also their sights make it easier to stay on target.
@@Bill-dj4sj If anything it's what Sig ripped off to make the p320
Beautiful rifle!… I so hope we get them in the US
I’m literally waiting to buy this and have been since this video launched.
I always wanted a Steyr Aug but I never wanted it enough to but it. This on the other hand, I want it now
Same boat.
Thing looks really slick and lightweight
Love steyr. I have an m95 for a hunting rifle and had an m9a2 for carry. Only reason I got rid of the m9a2 was cuz the sights were just painted instead of night sights. I was heartbroken when I found out the iconic trapezoid sights were useless in the dark
Dude thats the rifle ive been trying to build myself... what a kick in the nuts.
Man these high end ones are nice.
Steyr can take my freaking money. That ticks all the boxes I'm looking for if it runs as advertised.
And people say Germans don’t know humour, this guy is a riot
I’m completely on board with the new MDRX . You can get that in 20 and it’s like a scar bullpup
Gorgeous piece of human ingenuity
Man do i want that. I hope it really does come to the U.S.
I’ve been wanting that CZ bren 2 in .308 for A long to come to the civilian market but with this coming out I think it will be my future battle rifle looks awesome.
This sounds like it could have the accuracy the Bren2 doesn't.
Same
That in FDE would be sooo nice
Weight is impressive especially for a piston gun!
That's a very nice looking rifle. 👍🏻
Well that's nice of them to bring it to the US market. Usually the cool stuff like the g62 or 300 blk aug they just don't attempt at all.
What are you talking about? The G62 isn't sold anywhere, it's not about bringing it to the US.
That is a VERY COOL Rifle and I would buy ONE I love Steyr Products my AUG has been with me since 2005 and has over 14k thru it without any issues!
Would love to see more Steyr’s in 🇺🇸
Love to see this in 6.8, 6.5 Creedmoor also!!!💖💖💖🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
The trend is the charging handle delete. I like it!
Finnish product is in sale already, gas operated short stroke piston, caliber change on the fly ect. cost 4,7k EUR for one caliber. KAR-21
If they need the short barrel to make weight and the buffer system is at the front, I wonder what the balance is like. We'll see when it's out. I wonder if other trigger systems will fit in this one.
James has to do a review of this rifle
That barrel change system looks reminiscent of the LMT MRP.
light 308's seem to be a trend. This I will not argue against. I like Irwin! Cool dude.
Sub 7lb large frame precision AR? I'll wait for the reviews, for sure. Honestly not sure it'd be on my want list or not but it'd be more interesting to see it in action, that's for sure.
Still will get heavy once you start throwing on acogs. Heavy and expemsive. Still impressive. Nice to see a trend for lower weight ar10 for a bit for a while. Gets bigger more capable cartridge into weaker or smaller peoples hands
I want one, but i don't expect it to cost under 4k in Austria..
So it's an AR version of a para FAL but accurate af and lightweight. Perfection.
I love it! It also isn’t banned in my assault weapons ban state.
I would sell some of my ar10s for this setup in a 16-20" but not a 14. Very awesome rig just hope it comes out under 4k
Could you recommend one? An AR-10 I mean. I know there's lots of makes out there, but are there any that are particularly accurate?
@Jay Hopkins the best ar10 receivers are seekins precision or aeroprecision m5 enhanced. Cheapest way would be buy a complete aero M5e1 rifle immediately trash the barrel and put in a Craddock Precision signature series barrel and a trigger tech. Sgt of arms makes a good ar10 as well or buy the seekins precision complete rifle. The only route under 2k is the aero with barrel upgrade. I have 5 ar10. 1 being wilson combat 2a armament xanthos home built aeros and an armalite super SASS. Most accurate are home built with bartlein barrels (Craddock Precision)
+ Silencer and 20” barrel = 28” geese gun lenght. Squad in apc etc.. and someone has an RPG in hand’s😂
Tell them we need a 308 aug
A great very interesting video and rifle. As steamy substantial and packed as sauerkraut sausages and schnitzel. That was a great answer about the price:"Decent".Would you prefer this Steyer rifle in Heat or Die Hard? Have a good one.
I’ll check them out when they get here, but I doubt it’ll replace my DDM5v3.
Erwin seems like such a cool guy.
14 inch barrel I’m assuming that’s pin and weld. If so I’ll definitely take 1 maybe 2
Seeing as it’s made by Steyr they really should try to introduce a modern day bullpup too to play off what they’re most known for
Nice looking rifle!
i like it, not trying to do anything crazy, just a solid well designed rifle.
Now these guys know how to design a gun. After watching the Beretta DMR version video these guys are light years ahead. Everything the customer wants nothing they don't
What are the right side controls like? Also, is that a cross-bolt safety?
What does the safety look like? AR, or HK style (does it need a 180° flip)?
An aug with this operating system would be interesting.
I love me some Steyr and that's a great lookin' little carbine.
Great. Now I want German food. Thanks, James
German food? 🤢🤮
Unbullpups an AUGs and scales it up. I’m sold on that idea
The Steyr rep should have his own channel.
3 kilos and 1 moa in one .308 package. Sweet!
If it’s really under 7 pounds and has MOA accuracy with a piston operating system, there’s no reason to buy any other .308 gas gun.
Buying one for sure
@TFBTV are you currently in Nuremberg? How long for?
Did you notice that there is a serial number top / bottom . Upper and lower receiver
0:05 Why are you showing a graphic for IWA Outdoor Classics when EnforceTac is a completely different expo??
