How to Clean, Etch and Seal a Stained Concrete Pad

  • In this video, I show you how I seal my 1 year old front concrete pad. I built this deck over a year ago and never got around to sealing the concrete. After 30 days of the concrete setting, you are able to seal the concrete pad. Because I waited over a year, I had to scrub and ended up pressure washing the concrete to try and get rid of some of the stains. This is the first time that I did this so it is more of a ‘how I did’ vs a ‘how to do.’ Hope it helps!

    Leaves stains (tannine stains) are removed with SH (sodium hypochlorite). Just make sure you do not mix the acid with the SH. You can bleach the concrete the day after etching.

    Here in Seattle any concrete/cement that doesn't get sun exposure all day during the rainy season gets a layer of mildew. Annual spring job is pressure washing the entire east-facing driveway and blasting up a couple pounds of black gunk. Looks great until Thanksgiving.

    • @TheFixerHomeRepair
      @TheFixerHomeRepair  Рік тому +1

      Because the miters are glued and probably would have ruined it. It is vinyl so I wasn’t worried about the acid.
