Now for Hot Fuzz, The World's End, and Paul.
Then this is England after them
Then Baby Driver and then when it's out on streaming/dvd Last Night In Soho
Paul is underrated.
@@lfnreviews I aggressively hated Baby Driver. Like passionately. The first 15 mins were great and then it tanked for me. Glad you liked it, I guess lol
Scott Pilgrim vs the World and Baby Driver are great Edgar Wright movies too.
Everyone’s saying you should watch Hot Fuzz next and then At Worlds End because they’re part of this “trilogy”. You definitely should watch them if you liked this movie!!
Then there's Paul.
@@3DJapan Edgar Wright had nothing to do with Paul. It was just Nick Frost and Simon Pegg. The Cornetto trilogy is primarily Edgar Wright
Then Baby Driver
Better yet watch Spaced
17:17, "He's not my boyfriend." Funniest gag throughout the movie.
The cornetto trilogy: 3 bangers back to back to back
Absolutely
3 great movies and he should check out Paul too.....
Yep. The World’s End was a little disappointing but I’ll always give it a pass because it was still funny, and I appreciate how personal it was to Pegg at that point in overcoming his alcoholism.
@@JeffKelly03 The worlds end was amazing too just as good as the others
@@JeffKelly03 The World's End might be my favourite actually. Gary King is such a fun tragic character and I love how it's resolved as well.
David's girlfriend actually did survive the next few days by hiding in a tree eating david's leg for sustenance, that is official canon to the movie.
Great reaction! If you dig this style of humor, of course everyone's going to recommend Hot Fuzz and World's End, but the TV series the crew did before Shaun of the Dead is Spaced = hilarious 14 (30min) episode series that no one seems to review.
Yeah, Yvonne is clearly there to signal this is a spiritual sequel to Spaced… about the only difference is their names. Heck, Tyres is even wearing the same clothes. 😂
Fun fact: this movie was based off of an episode of Spaced
You should totally watch "What We Do in the Shadows" if you haven't already. It's a mockumentary comedy about vampires. Absolutely hilarious
The show is sooo much better than the movie.
@@Eidlones not even
28 days later has the most terrifying realistic zombies/people. Because zombie is never mentioned. It’s something else. If you ever get around to it check it out. It’s worth a watch if your into suspenseful horror at a real level
That movie had some impact on me other than every other "zombie" movie. Well thought, well written.
Great movie! That movie genuinely terrified me
28 Days Later definitely has the scariest zombies, imo.
+1
Not zombies though. Those folks are alive. But a very good movie!!
Return of the living dead is the scariest in terms of you can’t kill them by destroying the brain, you’re just fucked they’re almost indestructible 😂
@@Deft0nee It’s also just a really fun, well made & paced, movie!
@@DuchessFatima true somtimes you forget that haha
21:05 So the funny thing is, she actually survives. Check out "Shaun of the Dead: Plot Holes" to see what happens to some of the characters off screen.
Also you should watch the rest of the cornetto trilogy.
Shaun of the dead
Hot fuzz
Worlds end
Imo one of the best trilogy made (they are different stories, but with same director and cast).
Surely you add paul onto the list (although not part of the cornetto trilogy still a masterpiece by Simon peg and nick frost
If you like zombies, you should definitely watch Train to Busan. Definitely the best zombie movie out there. That one girl who ran outside actually survives in a tree, it's shown in a comic made by I believe Nick Frost (Ed) and Simon Pegg (Shaun).
Agreed! That movie is intense!
Yeah it’s a good movie but the best zombie movie is world war Z
Yuppp one of my absolute favorites
Everyone has their own favorite zombie movies. I liked Dawn of the Dead that Snyder done and the 28 days/week later movies.
@@scpstudio1811 world war z is shit compared to train to busan
According to the filmmakers, Diane actually survived. She fought through the zombies with David’s leg, climbed a tree, and ate the leg until the authorities rescued her.
" What's the matter, David? Never taken a shortcut before?"...LOL...always gets me!!! One of the best zombie movies ever!!
Lol Thats the part of the preview that sold me on seeing it
This is the first of three films in the Three Flavors Cornetto trilogy. They are not connected by plot, but all have similar feels and the occasional reference. I think Shaun of the Dead is the best of the three at the genre it was tackling. Hot Fuzz is easily the most fun and the one people would like the most (you would have a darn blast with that movie!). The World's End is my favorite one, and the most mature of the three in several ways, though it can also arguably be considered the weakest when compared to the other two.
Spot on. Hot Fuzz for me.
Don't forget "Paul" not strictly part of the trilogy but clearly the same team...
@@daveofyorkshire301 - Paul is great, but without Edgar Wright, I keep it for another conversation.
Love this movie. One of my favorites. Also, fun fact: the actor who plays Pete did the voice for Darth Maul in Phantom Menace.
I was looking to see if anyone mentioned that 😂
6:28 _"Is this our first actual zombie we're going to see?"_
This isn't the first zombie. But I get it, this is one of those films you get more out of when you watch it again.
Gonna add on to the pile: if you like this, I’d say Hot Fuzz is even better. From the same writers/director and with the same two lead actors.
Yep! At first I preferred Shaun of the Dead, but every time I rewatch it I like Hot Fuzz even more, and now it's definitely my favourite of the trilogy.
no waaaay.
There are a few repeated gags in the other films in the Cornetto trilogy. They're both hilarious and, like this one, go from a seemingly harmless plot into chaos.
The zombies in '28 days later' scare me the most. Or the ones in 'Dawn of the Dead'(2003?)
I just made that same comment before seeing yours. I totally agree.
They weren't zombies in 28 days since they were still alive , probably why they were scarier than normal zombies.
I preferred 28 weeks later than 28 days later, but both are damn good. The scariest zombies i would have to say is World War Z, man if you havent seen it you should definitely watch it
@@scorp77snake True. Dawn of the Dead ones probably take the crown then, or whichever ones SPRINT at you 😵
@@dogpooo8397 return of the living dead zombies are terrifying in the sense they’re almost indestructible.
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost both had cameos as Zombies in George A. Romero's 'Land of the Dead'. George loved SotD so honoured them in his last Zombie movie.
I watched this my first year away at college and honestly forgot how it ended 😂
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are a great team, their movies are hilarious.
Spaced...spaced...spaced...Spaced...spaced...spaced...Spaced...spaced...spaced...
SPACED.
Best series ever.
When he asked, sincerely, "What do you mean 'do something?' "
Lordy, the existential inertia....
Train to Busan is a must!
28 Days Later has some pretty scary zombies
One of the best
Great movie and reaction! If you like horror/comedies you will love the movie "What We Do In the Shadows," which is a comedy vampire movie. It spawned a terrific TV show as well. It's about a family of vampires that agree to let a documentary crew follow them around, and hilarity ensues.
4:56 I noticed that years ago. It was 2 takes, the first one she did grab his neck. The next scene was his shoulder. It was for that jumpscare effect.💯
There's an episode of Spaced where Simon Pegg starts to hellucinate zombies after doing speed and playing Resident Evil 2 which is the basis and inspiration for the creation of this film. Many actors from Spaced are in this too and the biker zombie is a nod to a character as well. The perspective of the movie is off for me though like everything is flipped.
Oy oy, you lucky people!
3:42 The music playing in the guy in front's headphones is "Zombie Nation" by Kernkraft 400. I hadn't noticed that previously.
Like you, I was obsessed with Zombie films in my 20's (back in the early 2000's). And as luck would have it, that's when a lot of today's most well-known Zombie movies were made/hit theatres.
I knew nothing about "Shaun of the Dead" going in. Nor had I seen, at that point, any of the other "Cornetto Trilogy" films, so I had no idea it was going to be a comedy. To me it was just another Zombie-thing to see. I came away extremely gratified by it. I love how it completely turns the entire "Zombie Genre" upside down, and makes fun of all the usual tropes that those movies are chock full of. Just a brilliant flick!
When the mom asks where did Phillip go, she's packed in so tightly, she can't turn around to look.
🤣🤣🤣
this is a such a great movie, this movie got me into zombie movies
The stuff going on in the background slowly leading up to the zombies is genuinely spooky and realistic than just it suddenly happening.
Brill movie. Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg's love letter to George Romero who loved the film and gave them both cameos in his own Land of the Dead the following year.
the track that the guy on the bus is listening to is called kernkraft 400 by the producer zombie nation. layers man, so many layers.
this is probably my favorite zombie movie because the comedy makes it soo different from other zombie movies. Like every other zombie movie that takes itself seriously and sticks at trying to be horror is THE SAME, you seen one, you seen them all.
+ this movie has sooo many easter eggs in it, you can watch it a dozen times and find something new every time :'D
There are actually little "cartoon/comic" deleted scene type things that were on the dvd, that show/explain what happened with Dianne after leaving and how Shaun recovered Ed. Im sure they are up on youtube somewhere!!!!
Sean Of The Dead, the funniest zombie apocalypse ever!
I went into the theaters blind in 2004, and was blown away. David's death scene traumatized me though.
13:53 You have successfully identified the joke.
Here are some fun facts
1. It began with a single of episode of Spaced in series one episode called Art, Pegg character Tim takes a dose of bad speed and stays up all night playing Resident Evil 2 which causes him to hallucinate he's fighting zombies after episode was filmed Wright pitched the idea of feature length zombie comedy
2. George A Romero loved the movie so much he casted Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright as zombies in Land of the Dead.
3. Diane didn't die she survived look up Shaun of the Dead plot holes which are canon she survived by climbing on a tree and eating some of David leg after that she fell asleep woke up after Winchester was burned and empty she climbed down while holding David's leg she stayed in touch with Shaun and Liz then went to live with her mom
4. Zombie extras were recruited from Space fandom
5. Shaun of the Dead wasn't the original title it was Tea Time for the Dead
6. Shaun nickname his mother calls him Pickle came from Wright own mother calling him that as a boy and while she taught some of his classes at school mich to his embarrassment
6. Shaun mom Barbara death actually caused real tears from Pegg and Frost, Pegg reacted to the idea of Barbara dying as if his own mother was being killed and after her death scene was filmed both Pegg and Frost cried real tears
7. The Song Don't Stop Me Now by Queen as a zombie surround the barricaded pub Shaun and the others take on the zombies cue Don't Stop Me Now by Queen blasts on the jukebox. The fight sequence is done to the rhythm of the queen song and the actors had earbuds in listening to the music so they could get the beats right when hitting bar zombie owner. Edgar Wright and Pegg called Brian May member of Queen for his blessing which he approved the song wasn't very well known then till Shaun of the Dead made it popular
8. Ed plans actually predicted the movie when he helps Shaun get over break up with Liz. Ed suggests "Bloody Mary first thing a bite at the king's head a couple and a little princess stagger back here and bang back at the bar for shots" this foreshadows the entire day bending off zombies the first girl zombie made Mary, his stepfather getting bitten, saving liz and her two friends, pretending to be zombies then gunfight at the bar
9. Next time I see him he's dead line foreshadows Pete fate which the next time Ed sees Pete he is literally dead
10. A number of reports serious attacks on people who are being eaten prediction as Shaun flicks to the TV channels early in the movie the song bites from each channel are strong together to describe the zombie uprising
11. You've got red on you this line is first mentioned when Noel says you've got red on you pointing out the red ink that has leak from Shaun's pen later the line is repeated later when Shaun shirt is covered in blood from the beating of zombies
12. You wanna live like an animal go live in the shed foreshadows Ed fate at the end of the movie we see that Shaun has chained up a zombified Ed in the shed where he spends his days eating meat and playing video games in the final scene Shaun goes out to join him
13. It's part of a trilogy called Cornetto trilogy Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and At The World's End
Another 2 essential zombie movies to see is The Return Of The Living Dead and Dawn Of The Dead 1978
One of the funniest Zombie Comedy Horror films I've ever seen in my entire life! You'll laugh until you cry!
One of the greatest zombie flicks. Love it.
for more comedies I highly recommend you to watch Clue (1985) its a classic and a really good movie you gonna love it :)
Great reaction. Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost make fantastic TV and Movies. You have to finish the Cornetto Trilogy now, with Hot Fuzz and Worlds End next. Such brilliant, cleverly done movies.
"Another ten minutes and they would have been fine."
You need to see The Mist.
THANK YOU! One of my favorite films of all time (definitely in the top 10). The more I watch it and the other two Cornetto Trilogy films the more I pick up on fun little details. Looking forward to seeing your reaction to the rest of the trilogy 🙂
My comfort movie and favourite of all time. Finally!
Definitely in my top 5 favorite movies of all times. Damn near every word and action is a reference to something else and you constantly keep finding them on rewatches.
“Should have just told her they gave the table away by accident” you came up with that lie quick I feel like you have used it once or twice 😂😂
The ending is foreshadowed during Pete's rant after he tells Shaun and Ed to keep the music down. He shouts at Ed saying, "You want to live like an animal?! Go and live in the shed you thick f**k!!"
Everything is foreshadowed. Sean and Ed discussing what they are going to do in the pub at the start of the movie, Ed after Pete has a go at him ( "the next time I see him, he's dead"), Sean to the kid that kicks the ball at him (" You're dead").
Hey if you didn’t know Diane survived when she leaves the pug with David’s leg she goes on top of a tree and stays on there until the zombies are gone and she ate David’s leg for food so she doesn’t starve
1:45 That's the incidental music from George Romero's Dawn of the Dead
please watch four lions, a twisted comedy that i´ll think you´ll love.
You gotta watch the rest of the cornetto trilogy after this they are both amazing movies
Always one of my favorites!
You gotta watch the rest of the Cornetto Trilogy, which consists of Shaun, Hot Fuzz, and the World's End.
You deserve so many more subscribers, LOVE the content! I hope you get around to watching the rest of the Cornetto trilogy
Shaun of the dead, Dawn of the dead and Train to Busan. And of course Kingdom on Netflix.
Not zombies but you should see Attack the block.
Primate reacting to Shawn of the Dead? Now how’s that for a slice of fried gold
How have you never seen this absolute classic. Glad you got round to seeing it.
during a interview they said most other Zombie movies are zombie movies with a cheesy love story... in this one they said they wanted to make a love story, a romantic comedy but these dam zombies keep interrupting them. lol that's why a lot of the dvd/blu ray covers had "a romantic comedy with Zombies" in quotes at the top. lol this is one for the ages!
Didn’t check all comments, but “Phillip” is played by Bill Nighy”, who was “Davey Jones” in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” flicks. 😁
13:51, that guy is Martin Freeman from the Hobbit Trilogy and the MCU.
Hot fuzz is the next movie of the three and it’s one of my favorite movies of all time
The dvd has a video clip that shows what happened in between leaving the winchester and the end of the film. After dawn ran out she made it to a tree and lived off David’s leg till things died down and Shawn came back to find Ed hiding under the stairs and lured him back to the shed.
‘i’m not a chartered accountant’ ‘well you look like one’ 🤣🤣🤣
Now you need to see the full trilogy, hot fuzz and the world's end
The sounds at the beginning were straight from Dawn of the Dead.
One of the best comedies ever and it gets better every watch
Right me & my godbrother love this joint + after Shaun got dumped in the pub they tell you everything they were gonna do.
Just a friendly reminder he needs to finish this trilogy. It’s a damn near perfect trip of movies.
He is a legend his UA-cam channel is called "Viva la dirt league"
7:57 The radio was reporting about the Zombie apocalypse in Hindi
The "weird and interesting" sounds at the begining are from the Dawn of the Dead soundtrack.
4:15 Yep! The actor, Bill Nighy, has often played creepy or sinister roles, like the Minister of Magic Rufus Scrimgeour in the second-to-last _Harry Potter_ movie or Viktor in the _Underworld_ series.
Of all the times I've seen this movie I think this is the first time I've ever realized Martin Freeman was the boyfriend in the second group.
One of the best zombie films ever
Please react to Hot Fuzz and The World's End too! they are the other two movies along with this one in a series called the "Cornetto Trilogy"
The 2 characters David and Maggie were played by Dylan Moran and Tamsin Greig. They starred together in a really funny sitcom called Black Books.
4:18 - I could be wrong but I think that actor is a main character in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and if it is him (Rafe Spall) then WOW, he was young back then compared to what he looks like now in that film. He's also in the horror film The Ritual which is creepy as hell if you ever want to watch a lost in the woods hunted by a norse demon kind of film.
Nooo not Shaun of the Dead HA HA Me & my family loves this joint bruh & you gotta see Hot Fuzz starring Simon Pegg & Nick Frost the guys who play Shaun & Ed in this it's really funny as well. #Cornetto
Have you ever seen 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later? You talked about World War Z being the scariest zombies you've seen, but 28 Days Later actually made the whole running zombies thing. when zombie movies were dying out 2002 gave us Resident Evil and 28 Days Later and jump started the whole trend in a massive way, also The Walking Dead took a lot from 28 Days Later, basically completely recreating the opening from 28 Days Later.
George A.Romero was so impressed by this film, that he gave Simon Pegg and director Edgar Wright cameos as zombies in his zombie film Land of the Dead.
The start of the Cornetto franchise
You should watch the British TV series Spaced which is where the whole Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost first worked together.
Loved your reaction my roommates used to make fun of me for watching the movie all the time while I was drunk
I think one of the most entertaining film methods in this movie is the use of repetition. The same lines repeated throughout the movie but in different context having completely different meanings
Awesome facts the actor who plays Pete is the original voice of darth maul and the actor who plays shawns stepdad also plays Davy Jones in pirates of the Caribbean.
He was good as Davey Jones but i prefer his portrayal of Slartibartfast from Hitchhikers Guide
Speaking of waiting 5 or 10 min more and they could’ve survived….have u seen The Mist. 😂
we need a horror series where you watch actual scary movies in the dark
Yessss please do Hot Fuzz and World’s end! You will not be disappointed
the other group that looks like them is an homage to the justice league/legend of doom from DC comics. for example: superman (good)/ bizarro superman (bad). Seinfeld had an episode with Eilene meeting the opposites to jerry, george, and Cramer. pretty funny stuff
That movies is legend he has a UA-cam channel now he is very fun to watch
This movie was my whole childhood
This is my favorite buddy comedy! Plus all the zombies makes it even better!
I recommend 28 Days later and 28 Weeks Later if you haven't watched them yet, very good "zombie" movies.
Hell Yeah This Movie is one my favorite that I enjoyed watching back when I was still in High School it's so funny
Love this movie. Easily my favorite zombi movie bar none. also I like how the car looks American because the footage is mirrored lol
