    I have this bike in 2018 model. Stem quite easy to work with and lowered the height by cutting steerer and removing half the spacers - very easy. This improved my position and improved the appearance. Bike rides super fast and great value as usual ✅

    There are 10 (ten) spacers under the stem! Removing them would give more more advantage than any CFD aided design or wind tunnel testing.

    Winner of Ugliest Bike 2018-2019. Mismatched deep section rims. 10 spacers on front. Fugly stem. Cut once regret later integrated seat post. So much to dislike on the new Propel.

    I have the new Propel Advanced Pro 2 2019 and is an amazing bike! I sorta wished I waited a month and got the disc version but I’m an impatient git but I really like the blue. The stem in person looks so much better but I do wish they had 65/65 wheels rather than 45/65. It would make the front end soo much better

    Another thorough summation. I bought a Giant Contend SL1 recently (aluminum endurance 105 bike) and I've been very happy with it from frame quality to spec, etc. I think Giant offers some of the best value. It's just some of their proprietary doo-dads - like the Propel stem and the Contend's cable-actuated hydro brakes - are maybe a bit too far outside the norm for most people. I'm OK with it.

    Aren't the spacers there for fitting the bike? Does their presence mean the bike can be adjusted to accommodate a more flexible rider in a more aero position? Is there a mechanical need for spacers?

    My customer changed his Giant Propel for a Litespeed T2 frame. Same components. His bike is still the same weight be he says it's an improvement on every level. He is smashing his previous strava times... and people keep saying "but the propel is an aero bike? It should be faster!" But it's not, and the litespeed also rides better and handles better and it lasts longer and it looks better... something to think about when you are planning to pay out for the Aero craze.

    • @karlwalters3763
      @karlwalters3763 6 років тому +2

      Blah blah titanium blah. Have ridden both and I think either you are either on drugs or your customer is. The T2 is a noodley springy bike for old farts that ride long k's while wearing reflective vests and compression socks. I really think your customer just couldn't handle the absolute awesomeness in performance that is the new Propel. Tell him to join the nearest randonneurs association and take up philately. And while he's at it maybe you need to man up and stop sniffing so many flowers...

    I felt this was the best aero bike for the $$$ and is the ride I’m going with - it’s light fast good wheels power meter good looks and superb value especially if you bargain with LBS - good choice cycling weekly! Others I considered: trek slr6 - Cannondale system6 - Felt AR2 - Trek was heavy, CD just looked a bit clunky but is a sweet - Felt has no disc brakes - my big complaint about the Giant is the seat post should be like the lower modes, total adjustability, the fork should go through the stem so you can lower the position without cutting the carbon

One issue for me is when I travel with my bike, depending on the case or bag I use, the seat post needs to be lowered. Also over time you may need to adjust it slightly, which is impossible with this set up!😳🥴🚴‍♂️🚴‍♂️
