To be fair, I don't think they needed to since PETA was already being dunked by their supporters for their games.
Also, I would assume that PETA would also try to discredit Nintendo and claim that they don't care about animal cruelty if they did try to sue them. And then they would both be in a huge legal battle against each other. IDK. That's what I believe.

I got really traumatized with "pony joy". It was a game where you were forced to torture your baby pony. No matter how much you tried to raise it, you had to torture it, because once it got hurt and would start crying it would never stop. Some of the options (when you put it in bed) were torturing it with a knife; you could split open the pony, cut it's limbs, cut it's hair, cut it's wings (if it had them) and maybe more. Or you could punch it. The cries of the pony are still in my mind. It seriously terrified me and I'm still traumatized by it. If you want to play it, too bad for you its not available normally anymore, you can only get it from APKs. I don't suggest playing it if you didn't yet...

"My Eyes Deceived" really messed me up more than I ever was, I feel sick thinking about "My Eyes Decieved" I related way to much to the character in the game, I was used as a toy by my father in the early days of my life, I figured it was a normal horror game. I didn't realize I was going to have my Trauma opened back up....

@unicornbarfingrainbows7599 it broke copyright laws when the creator was making money from, it. Plus at the end the game says that is cannon to the franchise while linking to an original game. So, they tried to make money and use it as free advertising for their own game. No wonder it got shut down
I shit you not, I was watching cute cat videos around the age of 10 and I got an ad with audio of an owl screaming in pain as it gets it's head drilled into. IM TRAUMATIZED there was no warning, not filter, it was horrible.

I’d say it’s a kids game, just that you notice mature themes when you’re older. Kind of like family movies where some details or jokes generally go over kids heads. Honestly, if you ignore the final boss, earthbound is still rather silly. Omori I never played but it seems to be more for teens with trauma being a theme.

Earthbound is in more of a fictional universe with aliens and time travel. With things like Psychic powers (EB Mother 1 is much deeper with PSI Powers). While omori is more realistic and grim. Like half the game is literally in Headspace and Whitespace, and the reason Whitespace exists is a form of escapism so Sunny can escape his reality of self-hate and depression. And themes of suicide, depression and overall self harm is scattered all over the story (hence increasing its age rating). So basically Earthbound is a more fantasy type story while Omori deals with real world problems like depression, suicide and trauma.

PETA's videos will NEVER have the true impact on people that "Can Your Pet" had on people. That game was HUGE on UA-cam, and is easily the most effective "shock" game/video ever without being something that people rioted over. It even had people begging other youtubers to play it.

I think from what I researched it’s not petas evil I have a problem with. The thing I despise about them is their hypocrisy. It would be considerably less, so they influence them to buy more and to not have a second thought about what they are actually paying for.

When I was 7/8, I found a video series on youtube about zombie doctor pregnancies. The pregnant woman gave birth to the first zombie and it was very gory. I couldn't even finish the story. I had nightmares for more than a year because those images haunted me.

I played majora's mask all on my own when I was 8. It was my first Zelda game, forst game I beat alone, and I really felt for it. I remember sometimes I would read dialogue from characters talking about lost loved ones or trauma, just imagining what they had gone through and when I had similar times. It changed me, and I had a different view on the world for the rest of my childhood. I love Majora's mask.

I remember being traumatised at 6 years old when my uncle downloaded a frozen game on his iPad. It was called something like “Elsa goes ice skating” it proceeded to show an infant version of Elsa and you had to keep tapping to ice skate and if you let go Elsa would fall. You then had to operate to take the twigs and broken bones out of Elsa’s body while she would whimper and make realistic child noises.

Thank you so much for raising awareness about issues and games like the ones mentioned here. Honestly speaking, I'm not familiar with most of the games mentioned here (except episodes and Ben Drowned), but knowing what they were truly about made me glad that i never knew them in my kid and teenage years.
One disturbing thing is the fact that companies like PETA and Doritos (for example) were involved in making harmful games like that, especially that one game that was made because "it was funny". Truly sickening honestly speaking!

roblox player here, i have actually played my eyes decive days before it got taken off the platform, and i have to admit, no other game had compared to the amount of creepines this had. as you mentioned in the game you experience the dreams and in one of those dreams you are locked in a labyrinth-type room with almost no vision, screen effects and extremely creepy abience music. the goal is to find some object which i unfortunately dont remember, but after you touch it, a monster 100 times bigger than you appears out of thin air and does one of the most terrifying roars i have ever heard in a roblox game, worst part is the game forcefully freezes your movement and camera.
however i do give roblox credit for adding an age system where some games are locked if you dont meet the certain age requirement.

And the things that this son of a gun did are... VERY DISTURBING.
See, when Elisabeth was younger, Josef would molest her. After that came endless suffering--he raped her, and she had like 5 or 6 children, a few of which died soon, while the rest survived today. At court, Elisabeth's case traumatized some of the jurors present, but regardless, once it was over, Josef was given a life sentence.

I remember a game called Joy pony (or toy pony, I don't remember) that kind of scarred me as a kid for some reason.
It was a fanmade MLP game where you had to adopt an abandoned baby pony and take care of it. But the game was all about abusing and killing it (you could inject them using a syringe, and the sight of that would make the baby shake and cry from extreme fear, which made me feel scared.) On top of that, you could beat them to dead, cut them and more, it was quite gore. What made me deeply uncomfortable was the fact that is was basically 1st person extreme child abuse, I'm very sensitive to that and that game traumatised me

As a young child (like at the age of 9 or 10) i was exposed to episode and another game called chapters i think. It caused me to grow an obsession with those games and then eventually led me to be hypersexual. Parents, please keep an eye on what games your kids are downloading. If you see that your kid has downloaded a game like this, instead of getting angry at them please just talk to your kid and explain to them why things like this arent good.

Now imagine the terror I felt when I got a Nintendo game with a original cooking mama title on it.
All of us as kids stumbled upon horror stuff and were disturbed, whether it was on tv, a game or something a friend told us/showed us. Did it have long lasting negative effects? No. Did it have any real consequence? No. It does not put the child at risk or in danger in any way, actually, it teaches the child that the world isn't all fun and games and everyone isn't good. A baby/toddler should not have access to a phone/ipad/internet!

Well they can have those long lasting effects those mostly being trauma or addiction to corn and gore in some cases and sadly I am a victim of gore addiction in forms of art and fictions and ofc it's a bad thing and a lot of times I get weirded out from myself reading fics or watching art of it and asking myself if there is something wrong with me (it started as trauma and being scared of those things as a kid but as I grew older it got me addicted at some point although now I very rarely look or read about that but when I do encounter it I just go oh cool and continue like I just didn't see the most disgusting thing ever), so yes it can really screw someone's brain a lot
