My favorite thing about this entire story is that the hackers didn't ask for money. They didn't gain anything except for exposing douchebags. Fantastic work
Poetic justice if you ask me. I’d feel a small sense of vindication knowing that not only did he throw the marriage away, he didn’t get anything out of it. Lose lose for the cheater, just as it should be.
Everyone’s talking about whether or not the cheaters deserved it but personally I just find it so vindicating that a small group of dedicated hackers were able to bring a corrupt multi-million dollar corporation to its knees. Always gives me hope saying such a small group make such a big impact against people like these who make themselves seem unstoppable, for better or for worse.
"wow i can't believe this company made me all these promises and then it turned out they were lying and using me" wow it's almost poetry considering that's exactly what you guys did to your partners. I get the 'deeper implications' here but this is a bad example. These ones deserved exactly what they got.
Karma is a concept of action, work, or deed, and its effect of consequences. In Indian religions, the term more specifically refers to a principle of cause and effect, often descriptively called the principle of karma, wherein individual's intent and actions (cause) influence their future (effect). Good intent and good deeds contribute to good karma and happier rebirths, while bad intent and bad deeds contribute to bad karma and bad rebirths. As per some scripture, there is no link of rebirths with karma. Karma is often misunderstood as fate, destiny, or predetermination.

the fact that the site had no women so it was basically millions of men paying for the void or bots to try to cheat on their wives is hilarious. like they could go on a short trip, spend less and have more success. Cheaters being dumb as well as immoral makes this story even better.
Reminds of the Right Stuff dating app, the one made for Conservatives to find love with people who have the same 'values' as them. And then a majority of the site was full of men, bots and trolls pretending to be women.
The site was targeted at men, and trust me when I say that when ads target a certain demographic, they tend to succeed in catching their attention. Women also would have a way easier time cheating without a tool helping them, if we're being real, and for good reason. Women are a lot more selective in who they sleep with, generally speaking, while men will often accept anything if they want to cheat to begin with. Personally I think the genders cheat at a similar rate overall, but that might be off-put by the amount of times I've seen women straight up admitting to it, while the reverse is usually not really happening. I'm really glad these people were outed though, and I hope there is a list with all their names in a database somewhere so its possible to search people up for reference if you want to do a small "background check" before dating someone tbh

It’s sad how once data was leaked, people were more concerned about the money they lost and the weak security of data….rather than how this affects their relationship.

No wonder women these days don’t want to get married/have kids. Why would you go through 9 months of pregnancy, excruciating child birth and 18+ years of doing the majority of childcare only for your dumbass husband to eventually cheat on you? No wonder women are opting out
I've noticed one little detail that wasn't mentioned about the DELETE PROFILE feature. So when the hackers announced their intention of releasing users data, the users would normally panic and abuse the feature hoping that their profile and data will vanish but this will eventually play in Ashley Madison's favor which results in massive revenue to the owners of the website. I'm fond of this channel's content, much love.
What if they planned this to begin with...make a website make ppl feel guilty about it and then offer a delete request for their data... I agree. I don’t understand how if you are in a good relationship or have love for someone how you can even get feeling for others. I just don’t get it.
It's easy. Our whole culture encourages it. Men and women are not as attracted to each other anymore because they've been encouraged out of masculinity/femininity. They're spoiled by social media and generally a long life of dating and have much higher expectations than it is realistic so they end up unhappy much easier in a monogamous relationship. Fun fact most cases of infidelity happen in perfectly happy relationships. The only factor required for a person to cheat is the inability to resist the temptation to do so. The myth that cheating only happens in rocky relationships is something perpetuated by therapist. Before marriage get mutually beneficial prenupts. Infidelity clauses are a thing.
This is so true. You often here Incels claiming it's always the woman's fault because she isn't doing her wifely duties properly or whatever BS they're regurgitating from reddit/youtube bros. Cheating is a character flaw that has nothing to do with other people. It's solely about the character of the person cheating.
"Mutually beneficial prenups" Then the woman cheats and the man gets fucked, no thanks, and calling it "Infedility Clause" sounds like fear propaganda, and no, infedility happens in truly happy relationships, if you think you are on a perfectly happy marriage, and your partner cheats, then it wasnt a happy relationships, actually... Who hurt you?, to lie about this?
@thegeneralvilla2784 Dude, do some actual research. Most cases of infidelity happen in happy and sexually satisfying marriages. Do you even know what a prenupt is? It's a legal document people draw up specifically so your spouse can't fuck you over in a divorce. Infidelity clauses go both ways, so if she cheats, she pays up too. Do research on subjects before you comment on them so you don't sound like a retard.
I see where you're going factual younger women are more likely to cheat (20s) and it's statistically proven. But over 30 men take the lead. It's also proven that the infidelity gay is narrowing. The reason why it's men is that dating apps are more for short termed sexual encounters. That's why tinder etc don't work out well for women.
Stop being sexist, and pay slight attention. Statistics show that both sides cheat, and women do it more anyway. People who think that other people are inferior are the entire reason we’ve had problems over the last 10 thousand years. People like you perpetuate the gender issues you claim to hate so much. Placing yourself above others doesn’t make “equality”, it just flips the existent issue. I get it, it’s human nature to hate people who are different, but being unable to get over that for morality’s sake has led to slavery, the systematic oppression of women and people of color, and the holocaust.

Polyamory/Polygamy is pretty much normalized. Transactional relationships are normalized.
@@a1zach_81 Everybody will feel attraction towards attractive people and it can build up if you interact with them. That's normal and there's nothing you can do about it. The problem is that marriage isn't sacred anymore and people are encouraged to explore those feelings. They're told they're entitled to pursue those affairs instead of shamed for them. Then of course people pursue affairs instead of trying to avoid them. Part of loyalty is not putting yourself into tempting situations.
Not all relationships are good, but a lot of people don't know how to communicate, don't want to try, or they simply don't care anyway. Get off on the thrill. :/

Infidelity is not a crime. If Ashley Madison promised its users they would protect their data, and that promise was violated, then there is an argument to make for liability. Is it really so hard to understand? The lawsuit makes sense. You can't be morally selective on when laws do or do not apply. They must be universal, or they can be used against you.

@@Jahq00 Hah, I use that line all the time! That you're using it suggests to me that you're a good person.
We know little about the men involved in this, and we know nothing about the women on the other end. What we do know is that the agreement between Ashley Madison and its clients was valid, and the hack was a failure of Ashley Madison to protect the identity of its clients. The lawsuit has morality on its side for that reason. It is irrespective of the morality of the website's normal operation. Just because one action is moral does not mean the reaction is immoral. This isn't physics.
There is no appropriate social punishment for adultery, because the truth lying underneath this website's existence is that it's far _easier_ for women to cheat than men. Women gatekeep sex. All they have to do to find it is open the gate.
Personally I don't consider Ashley Madison's existence a moral issue. It is a domestic issue that is none of my business outside of my own personal relationships.
Idk. I think it's mostly scummy narcissistic people who cheat. Would be interested in statistics.
@littleripper312 lol. Women are always saying, "All men cheat," too. Everyone's self-righteous on the internet.
"Not all men" yet 37 millions on a cheating site
