    Great upload, despite my experience I have never tried a fire rope. Guess every day is a school day, thanks for sharing ATB

    Just found this Harry so will have a more detailed look at the fire rope. Grand dogs mate, that terrier looks happy and surprisingly calm for the breed! Great to see, thanks for sharing. all best.

      Ha ha yes Greet, the wee dog is also great off lead but as a terrier it has it's moments. Atb. Harry

    Hi Harry,
    Another enjoyable video from you. I would love to see you train the new pup a little while out and about. Dogs are great companions to have on a hike, yuou can't beat a good walk out with them. Your channel is doing great all thanks to interesting trips like this, congrats buddy.

      Thanks Bud, indeed, having a dog is almost primaeval and ancient partnership, I am fortunate to have deer fenced woodlands nearby safe from livestock, however, our new dog will be on a lead until its 18 months so it will take a while. All the best. Harry.

    Another good vid Harry, cheers. I've not tried using fire rope but you've inspired me to give it a go. Hoping to get away either this weekend or next weekend so if I get my shit in one sock I'll try it then.
    Another fan of dugs here, they're great companions on a walk or camp.

    The fire rope helps to maintain the fluid and the burning more time?
    Great video!

    question ... I gather that this fire rope is 3/8 inch gasket material for the door on a wood stove. is that correct? also why would it not work in a trangia (or knock off) stove?

    i really like this idea can you use lamp wicks i bought hundreds from local pound shop...atb

    • @FlyingHaggisFilms
      @FlyingHaggisFilms  6 років тому +1

      Thanks John, I think lamp wicks might be worth experimenting with, although the thick fire rope might be more stable and cleaner, give em a try anyway. atb. Harry

    If you had the bigger BCB mk 2 stove you could use a trangia alcohol burner

    It’s a sheltered spot, but as ugly as it gets I’m afraid. No flora or fauna the sun is blocked out and no wildlife. I hate those tightly planted pine forests. Thanks for the vid.
