  • A little modification to be able to use a spirit burner on the BCB Crusader MK1 & it works extremely well.
Very handy for bushcraft, camping & hiking.

It's possible that the distance from the burners to the cup factored into the efficiency.

Pellet tin, that's great because it's a screw lid. I've been looking for a screw lid tin for something else. Now I need to go to the air rifle people and scab a couple.

A jam jar lid with a 30mm hole in it makes a simmer ring for the fire rope mod. If you want to take it another level you can cut the pan out of the stove using a 2 1/4" (57mm) hole saw with the arbor removed (a drill press is required). The pan comes out complete as the spot welds are avoided so you can still use it with fire rope, gel or solid fuel. The stove will now sit on the top of the Trangia with enough clearance. I cut another air opening (6mm x 50mm approx.) in the stove opposite the original and drilled some holes in the base. This gives a cleaner burn and stops the Trangia overheating which is a problem with the mk2 stove. Save your money and stick with the mk1 system, it will still be going strong when your mk2 has been recycled into Coke cans. ATB

I don’t understand plastic. I use stainless for everything. You can get metal lids for these. I’m in the states but I’m sure you can find them surplus anywhere

Get a little tube of clear silicone and make your own gasket. Shouldn't cost much.

but then your taking to cook sets out with you giving yourself twice as much to carry even tho it doesn't weigh much just excess baggage ,good vid tho

I was wondering how upset your wife was when she noticed half her lavender perfume was gone from you using it to fuel your rope burner.
