Very good control by the winner: he really dictated the pace of the games from the openings, and made almost no mistakes . . . but really, I was a disappointed by this hydra-only style of play; I was used to see much better games from Larva
SPOILERS after the Read More: That first game... wow. I've been cheering for Larva but, hey, credit where it's due, right? Mini brought it.Well Fukkin done. Not even to mention Mini's "3-0" boast in the interview.... what a baller.
glad i got to watch this one live. GOOD GAMES! ***SPOILERS BELOW*** i liked the assessment by Jean-Nicholas Charest. Larva seemed tilted since game 1, denied his choice of play, his prepared strategy. it never felt as if Larva was in control in this series. even in game 2, he seemed so oddly thrown off. when do you see a pro zerg player playing defensive turtle without making lurkers earlier? it seemed so odd. lurkers are a natural, obvious defense against mass zealots/HT, even if he did a minor hydra push. either way, well deserved by Mini. well played, great micro, great multitasking ability. gg
I wonder what got into Larva's head so far as to transform a man whose feet have known such victory into a mongoose who would hide from a snake. He's not the type to be so high strung, feeling as if a lion were on the verge of devouring him. It can be hard to convince yourself that the lion's not in the room. Alas it would appear that this is not the ASL of his becoming.
I’ve been a big fan of StarCraft for a long time. It was one of the first video games I ever played and I feel like I pretty much grew up with SC 1 and Brood War. That being said though I watch SC 2 pros and not SC 1 pros. Can someone explain to me what draws the players and viewers of professional SC 1 to it instead of to SC 2? Thanks from taking time to help me better understand.
StarCraft II has an over-the-top visual feel to me--it's 3-d with thick shapes that kinda slug around the map slowly, health bars over everything. Brood War has less clutter for the eyes in my opinion, and the remastered edition touches it up just enough without sacrificing original aesthetics. Just my point of view.
units can act a bit differently sometimes. Just make 2 dragoon shoot each other, you will see one of them will make a "fire delay mistake" so they will shoot at each other with a slipped time. if one dragoon mistaking 2 times, then it will lose without killing the opponent dragoon
zatnikutel goons are easily one of the glitchiest units. I’ve seen them do all kinds of goofy shit. But Zlots usually don’t have any issues like that. Besides we’re talking about the Zlot speeding up not slowing down
every single moment looking at the supply, mini supply has much much greater than larva's. 1.larva is slow in expanding, he should uses his foot instead 2. mini has good control of the air (cosair vs. overload) 3. higher apm of mini and micro
Man first soul key now on larva?! I have no one to root for now. I was really hoping he would go far too. I'm going to be heartbroken if this was fixed. In a weird way I wish it was fixed - I don't like to think he lost straight up like that.
I feel you - Larva caved a bit too easily considering he destroyed Rain last season. But he did admit in the interviews that he was struggling with these maps, and Mini did play very well. I really hope broodwar doesn't get destroyed by another match-fixing scandal, it's just starting to get really big again.
The general consensus is that at low levels of play it's easiest to win with protoss. At mid levels of play it's easiest to win with zerg, and at the highest levels it's easiest to win with terran. Hence where the term "tesagi" comes from. Looking at this you can conclude that at the highest levels of play, protoss is actually the HARDEST race to win with.
@fangedcow If you think A-moving zealots is all it takes to win, why don't you go and compete in the ASL and show us how great your understanding of the game is?
@@abstractdaddy1384 How come so many Protoss and Zerg make it deep into tournaments while only a few Terran (the ones we all know) make it deep? The stats don't back up your claim.
Snow is the best at PvT in the world, he can definitely beat FlaSh, also Mini stands a better chance than Larva in a best of 5 against Flash I would wager, Mini is known as a very pesky player by Flash and his micro is among the best of any player. The only reason he had not been considered a top tier player before was because of inconsistency, but he is bringing it this season.
Shine brought me to ASLseason when he was close to winning ; then Larva got my interest because of funny character ; wearng sunglasses and his over confident trash talk. Shine didn't win ; Larva didn't win ; and now that I check ASL just coz r8 is suppose to be you know the good round of good gameplays and match where Larva play ...ofc Larva loses...ofc! Ahhh well ; I'm just gonna stay with GSL I think. ASL can be fun at times but right now no gamer there really brings my interest personally. Everything seems pretty standard.
Broodwar's balance has remained the same for 15+ years and every race has had great success. You'd have about as much luck complaining about the balance of chess.
Game 1: 29:39
Game 2: 53:40
Game 3: 1:17:14
Game 4: 1:30:39
Game 5: 1:40:05
games 4 and 5 are so short xD suspicious
Thank you
hahaha you are the best of this game.
Protoss Zerg LOL that's why I try to not look at the times. Just click.
thanks you made me hope for larva
Tasteless : LARVA IS A GOD
literally at the same moment : Larva blocking his own units inside his base by forgetting a drone on the ramp :D
That was totally out of my expectation! Well played!
morning coffee....ASL...good day ahead.
you're addicted

Man they should put up a list of the songs they use, the ones that play in the beginning are always really good!
MINI WHAT A RAID BOSS. Nothing is more hype than calling a 3-0 and getting it, especially being down 79/21 in the fan poll
Prevenge.
Year of the Protoss! Don't let me down vs. Flash!
glad i got to watch this one live. GOOD GAMES!

who is Jean-Nicholas Charest
Mini is a Protoss Bruce Lee! :)
Creo le faltó jugar con el pie.
final winner confirmed... flash... AGAIN
Great! Mini is the next Champion!
Mini was so great at micro the corsair reaver
mini should have played with his feet to make it fair
I think Larva is cursed because of that moment. He's a great Zerg player who's never won anything, but acts like he's FlaSh.
I thought Larva was defeated in an earlier round, or is this another tournament already?
Volber Another one :)
Volber that happened two seasons ago dude :) larva was top 4 last season.
look at those humble wins from Mini... lol

I heard someone suggest making Sparkle a 1v1 map, so Zerg can't get a whole bunch of 3gas islands
tasteless is so handsome ;;
Around 53:10, both tasteless and artosis were talking about how sparkle is hard for zergs, haven't we seen zergs dominating that map?
I recall zerg having a crazy high win rate on sparkle. I think the toughness was referring to it all coming down to the last game (i.e. pressure).
Sparkle is insanley hard for zergs in ZvP. But in ZvT Sparkle is insanely zerg favored.
I didnt see larva playing with his feet. LOL. Im so glad he just lost.
love the Dune reference (:
@1:01:05 how the heck did that zlot fire off his third volley so fast and get that gas drone? Hero Zlot!
canag0d lol true that was weird

True even marines don't shoot exactly at the same intervall. Cooldown rate seems to have a small randomness added to all units?

Whats the name of the song at 44:50?
54:50 who's that hungarian?
Man first soul key now on larva?! I have no one to root for now.

Can someone tell me what's on that sign @54:45?
It’s just let’s go semi-final larva! And hungary -> korean
mini goes for flash
Do the castors speak korean? how did they understand?
yes, they live in Korea
they don't speak korean, production translates it for them
Josef Pronathi they DO speak Korean. Go to any Arto’s streams and ask him directly. He will prove that to you
he isnt fluent at all
Tasteless and Artosis understand and speak a gradeschool level of korean, but for the interviews, production is speaking to them for how to translate.
15:08 😀😀😀
Good Games
Seems Larva is not himself today ... it is a shame.. one more zerg elite terminated.
3:0 good haha
ME PROTOSS. ME GOOD. ME MOVE ZEALOT. ZEALOT GOOD. HUR DUR. AMOVE GOOD. ME WIN NOW.

Larva was absolutely awful. And all this confirms is that flash wins another asl. When does someone stand up to his dominance?

random f word in one of the songs lol
59 of 20 gg
Effort and JaeDong go out for Shuttle and Larva shitty games =(
홍구양 ㅠ
Suspicious games if you ask me. Looks like even more match-fixing tbh
gg

What's standard about island maps?
SC2 is really not that good. Shut up guys :D
How do you even win ZvP on this map lol... two pylons win the game.
protoss. Making inferior players look great since.....forever
