Speed up at 1,75 and you have the original tempo 😅 Good luck, it's quite a terrifying lick !
kkkk
Or, you could try adding in a delay, similar to how he does on Wounded Flight Of The Bumble Bee....
Then it becomes a little less terrifying...
You mean slow it down, right?! ain't no way im speeding that up! 🤣😤
I love the rock guitar community, tabs were published 2 days after the song was released as well as videos like this. Cheers!
My HERO. I thought it would take longer to find tabs of this.
15 years been we ´ve been waiting a new song 😅
Great work
This feels like EVH patterns 🤟🤟🤟
There, someone said it. It’s not a dig at all it it needed to be pointed out! 😎
I heard the same thing.... Almost had a Hot For Teacher vibe.... Pattern wise anyway....
Thanks
Thank you for the tab and slowed tempo. I appreciate the effort!
🙏
🙏🙏🙏 Thank you so much, sir.
Awesome 👏
Thanks Carlos 🙏
Thank you for your hard work
🤘
Spot on solo mate. would love to learn it. cheers!😀
thanks for the job, really helpful !
🙏
Great job dude! Sounds spot on to me!!
Thanks Elliott !
Great work man well done
Thanks man !
Fantastic job transcribing that!!
Thanks Sam ! 🙏
Hey man, thanks for sharing. Took a while to get a kind of flow in it and will take some time to reach the original tempo. All the best
Thank you so very much
Good work Hector !
Thanks Homie!
🤘
He is such an insanely talented guitarist. I got up to 4 of their songs I could play (Play With Me, Get The Funk Out, Monster, Wounded Bumble Bee, and Rest In Peace) and figured I pretty much peaked as a guitarist. Thinking I'll sit this one out. 🤣
Don't sit this one out - it's a lot easier to play than it sounds! This is one of Nuno's most accessible solos.
Good work man.
Thanks Man !
You sir are THE personification of "when preparation meets opportunity!!" Wishing you all the luck winning !!! (Not like you will need it ! Sheeeeeesh! )
Haha, thanks Sam. I love Nuno's playing, my goal is really to share this content so that everyone can play the lick. I'm a guitar teacher ^^
Great work mate!! thank you. Nuno is such a smartass hey lol
Haha, yes Nuno is a smartass player !! Thanks
good job man
Thanks D.K. !
it nail when i speed up ,... cool .. thanks for tab man
Speed up to 1,75 ;) Thanks Necki !
Crazy lick. Has a dotted eight delay feel to it, but all the notes are actually played. Now to get this thing up to speed…….. (“challenge” accepted 😀).
Mean looking axe by the way, that thing saw action for sure. Nice!
Yes, crazy lick, Nuno is awesome again and again !!
wow good job
Thanks Sutana !
This solo is so cool, if you hear it without watching you swear there is a delay pedal there
Yes, this is the Nuno's wizardry !
I think there is.... He just played it up for the camera....
I thought so too..i tried the 360bpm parameter delay..and….🤔
@@mazterford I believe you're right about the 360ms.....
Just FYI.... U2 Where The Streets Have No Name is also 360ms.. 😎
@@mruncletheredge
Yeah theres a lot of songs using that bps,eye in the sky,the wall,etc..
Dude!!! Thank you - I'm going to be watching this on repeat all day haha. I thought Nuno might have had delay on like flight of the wounded bumblebee but nope!:) cheers man
Cheers Choey !! Once again, an awesome lick by Nuno.
I still think he's using a delay.... Not to put down the solo or anything..... But he's done the delay technique on many other of his solos....
@@mruncletheredge Yep very true, he sure has. He gets that insane 'Nuno' sound that is hard to replicate... I love it!
@@CHOEYGMUSIC there's a guy on UA-cam that's already replicated the solo... He did it without a backing track so you can hear every note perfectly.... And he's using a delay... He's the only guy that sounds closest to Nuno....
There are other guys that play the solo too, but they're all using the original song as a backing track so you can't really tell whether you're hearing them play or Nuno...
Plus what you can hear sounds messy....
I'm pretty confident that Nuno's buzzing the delay like he did on Wounded Flight Of The Bumblebee....
I’m going to attempt this 😅
Good work !
dude... !
Thank you so much for this. Pls can you look at Combustion from Giant 3 album Dann Huff. Cheers 🤘 😎
🙏 dann huff is a monster too !
Bravo mec!
Et le lick de midnight express dans la même veine!
Wow, how cool is that! Thank you for sharing! 400 views of your video will be mine😅
Haha, you work hard the lick ? Excellent 😅
@@FlorianArnaud I just started! I love the track. Finally it's happening after 15 years 🤘The solo is insane!
He does simular runs on the peacemaker die solo without the stretch
Gimmie that Diezel!
lol if I have time I would make a version by recording with the diezel !
if you speed up the video to 2X it's exact...
At 1,75 Speed, it's really close to the original tempo !

IS the tunings STILL Drop D in the solo?
Let's spare a though for the fretting hand of all those guitarists trying to learn this.
Yes hard work for the fretting hand ! 😅
Thanks for this !!! So the song is in drop D but the solo is standard tuning ? Is that what you are saying ?
I think that the record song is in drop d, but in the clip sometimes he don’t play his « accurate fingerings » 😅
Great job !
It seems to me that Nuno is tuned 1 step down and not only in Drop D
I think it's the clip that makes you say that ? It's misleading. At the end of the solo (version Clip) he plays the riff two frets higher, he laughs at us lol. But I'm almost sure that the rhythm parts are in Drop D, as well as the Monster Lick, because it's unplayable otherwise.
however it is quite surprising to see the tuning present on this piece. It seems to me that this is the first time that Extreme plays in Drop D (standard) ?
Since he always played 1/2 step lower, I thought he just lowered an extra half tone. The live performances will tell us the truth ;)
yes, I can't wait to see them live again ! :)
@@FlorianArnaud A 'Drop-D' tuning wasn't a new thing at all for Extreme or not even their first time Drop-D Standard in Extreme. FYI, please check back their way back album, from 1st album EXTREME-I: songs like "Mutha, don't wanna go to school today" and 2nd album EXTREME-II: PORNOGRAFFITTI songs like "Lil' Jack Horny" and 3rd album EXTREME: Waiting for the punchline, songs like "Cynical", "Midnight Express" (instrumental) are all arranged in Drop-D tuning.. And so, Nuno guitar (N4) has a D-Tuna Floyd Ross Bridge which is the same guitar bridge as Eddie (EVH).. This makes the guitar look so cool and unique
Im finding it hard to get in time with a metronome , any tips?
you can practice the accents alone on the dotted eighth note. Rhythmically it is already an interesting precision exercise. And after, the second thing you can do is put yourself a sixteenth note mat on which you place your playing...
Good, but you can see in the clip he attacks all the notes with the pick :) I'm working on it !
Hey man what kind of pickup do you have at the bridge?
Seymour Duncan SH4
Pretty sure he is using delay set on one repeat on the same volume level as mote played, though in the video clip he plays every note.
How to set the sound then? Delay on?
No delay !
I think theres a delay on that solo, like the one he did in flight of the wounded bumblebee..
you don't think he's using a delay pedal?
No I don't ! I think this is this pattern ;)
@@FlorianArnaud No delay at all.
I can hear eddie van halen in rise nuno
Yes ! Eddie's soul is present in Nuno playing.
Everybody can.
I slowed down the video and it seems That it’s not in drop d but un standard D, anyway it sounds close. 👍
Thanks Jean Michel. You slowed down the video clip ?
Is he playing it with an octaver of some sorts? There are some weird glitchy sounds in the original.
Yes, I had difficulty to transcribe this lick because of this effect or just the prod... ? I'm curious to see how he will play it in live situation.
@@FlorianArnaud Lots of palm muting here is all. No octaver.
Yes some parts are octaved. In the music video you can actually see him playing the parts that are octaved one octave higher (it's clear to see and hear in the 8th bar of the arpeggio part; the descending portion of the fourth arpeggio) noone seems to be picking up on this and therefore everyone keeps making lessons claiming the "correct notes!" when they are in fact incorrect. Bugs me that the guitar community seems to have such bad musical hearing as a lot of the larger guitarists in the youtube haven't corrected it at this point but are duplicating and spreading the tabs that are incorrect for this portion of the solo.
Just a small nit, Nuno dampens the notes more
yes, I grant you that. I think it can come a little from my sound too. If I succeed I will make a video by replaying the lick at the original tempo and I will pay more attention to the sound.
@@FlorianArnaud Hey you made a legit attempt
Is it just me or does it not sound 100% accurate? (not talking about the speed either)
Hmm maybe Nuno is using a delay?
Nuno play STACCATO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think he plays the notes in hammer-on in groups of 3. The stacatto effect is given by the palm muting. It's a technique he uses frequently.
@@FlorianArnaud watch the video carefully
@@user-tt7cg3cj7k video is useless unless it’s him in the studio playing it.
@@blacklion401 yeah, so waiting for live performance
Try it with a delay at the dotted eighth note single repeat. Same thing as flight of the wounded bumblebee
I think he doesn't use a delay in this lick, it's the technical idea that is used in the solo of "Peacemaker Die"
Still too fast 😂
Damn this is really close, if not exact. Crazy Nuno plays this about 1.75x faster
Thanks ! Nuno is amazing ...
@@FlorianArnaud It is EXACT. Thank you Sir!
Lol, that was fast!
Thumbs up my man!
Have you tried to transcribe Andy Timmons´ Puppet Show?
Thanks man ! I don't know this song of Timmons. Awesome parts ! Thanks ;)
I did transcribed it. Check my profile and you can see the tab
i can do it , but cant palm mute at the same time. my picking comes from the arm like early Vinnie moore ,crazy vins really good at palm muting and i have always been a bit crap even though i can play very fast and clean . warning to all new players . look at paul gilbert's picking technic ,and if your lucky to be able to do it malmsteen. malms is a dick ,but his picking technic is astonishing.
dont pick from the arm .
