Beautiful machine! Guy made sure to wear the matching outfit as well. Can't wait to see who wins tomorrow.
This video and many other reviews influenced my decision to go with this Commencal vs. Sant Cruz and Intense. Much more affordable (aluminum) but comparable components and amazing geometry. Two months later (and a bunch new STRAVA PR's)... I'm obsessed with it.
MILTONATOR I'm not sure if I should go with the meta v3 or the Santa Cruz 5010c. what do u think is a better choice?
Viper Swordfish - between these two choices, both being aluminum, I would go Commencal. The suspension is much better and you get a slacker geometry. And the price is easier on the wallet. My opinion... probably biased because I ride Commencal :)
MILTONATOR I honestly agree I have been looking at the specs and this probably the bike for what I ride
just got this bike! worth every doller!
How much did you pay for it?
Hope the kona process 153 dl wins! Bought the bike 3 weeks and its great!
The Whyte t-130 has already won…
+Official8BITLegend ye ik :( but still a rly good bike imo
This bike is so affordable compared to others in its class. This will be my next bike.
You guys should have an enduro category if these type of bikes are showing up in trail....The fuel and camber i don't believe should be in a 160mm category...
+Trevor Bohnsack We contacted all the companies we could think of, and simply asked them to send in what they thought was their best trail bike. It was up to them to decide what constitutes a trail bike, hence the massive range of bikes this year. Given how friendly the pedalling style of the Commy is, it's still a great option for trail riding, but perhaps on the burlier end of things - likewise, the Camber is more on the XC side of things compared to many bikes in TBOTY. Having that range of bikes makes the test broader and, we think, more interesting as it shows the range of bikes out there.
Ultimately, all the bike companies had the same initial email, so it has been really interesting to see how they interpret what a 'trail' bike is.
We would really like to hear also about the bikes below the top one's. As consumer it would be nice to know about possible problems with all most common trail bikes.
+Joonas We're only covering the top 12 in video form, but there'll be more reviews in the mag. There are links in the description if you want to pick up a copy (highly recommended!).
plz change the titel to Commencal META AM V4 RACE ROCKSHOX 650B RED 2016 - Trail Bike of the Year - 2nd Place
+velo1337 We'd love to, but UA-cam has a title character limit. Commencal's marketing dept clearly doesn't.
:(((
+BikeRadar is commencal supreme v4 the best ?
@Bikeradar you mention a change in the rear shock from 2015 that stops it blowing through travel. What exactly was the change? I assume shock tune/volume spacers?
Nice music. Who performs the first song? sounds like Motown.
I want this song too! Please BikeRadar give us its name!
+Andrey Rubin It's 'Don't Walk Away' from the Audio Network library - www.audionetwork.com/browse/m/track/dont-walk-away_52167
Enjoy!
+BikeRadar awesome, thanks!
I went to the Motown museum last week. God bless the Funk Brothers!
what was the 2nd song?
all of these bikes are so cool
+BikeRadar can you add the canyon spectral to your test for next year.
Awesome video guys😃
commencal set this rig in enduro/am category, why didn't you choose the meta trail v4, with 130-120mm?
How would you guys compare this to the 3rd place Devinci Troy? Of course this has more aggressive geometry but does it feel any less nimble? What about climbing?
hi @bikeradar Think you that the meta am v4 can do sometimes 50-60 km of ride ? or I must find a other trail bike ?
Shame YT didn't send you a bike. However the other reviews have been great. Cheers
+Chris Hampton I don't think at the time, they had a "trail" bike as per se
Is it true and a Big Deal that the rear bolts come Lose after a ride
I'm 178cm tall.size up or down? I'm thinking large with a 35mm stem. Would love to demo it but none around... Help a bro out
i'm 178 cm too and i use L but in meta am2
So how is this 2nd place if the video says it won? Or would the 1st place bike be some kind of "dream build"?
+Berry Chris It won last year, but just missed out in this year's test. You'll have to tune in tomorrow to find out which bike pipped it!
Oh, I see, sorry, seems I wasn't paying attention to the narrator :).
If you're considering 160mm bikes, how come the YT Capra isn't being tested?
+Chris Hampton YT didn't send one in for the test, despite us asking for them to do so.
+Thomas Marvin did canyon ?
+TheMegaMrMe canyon did, but it didn't make the top 10 unfortunately
+Thomas Marvin Which Canyon was it? a Spectral? And in that case.. which model?(Al 7.0, 8.0, One of CF versions?). I´ve got a Canyon Spectral AL 7.0 EX on order and was hoping for it to be in the test ;)
Thanks!
Mr.BadassProductions I was thinking of buying the same one..
Does anyone have an opinion on the Meta AM V3? I can't find many reviews on it.
Commy FTW!
what is the venue for the filming?
+logtothebase2 We were lucky enough to finish testing in Peille in the south of France. Incredible trails, and we even got to chill with the locals - ua-cam.com/video/HmvmPEyq8Z4/v-deo.html
where are the trails used in this video?
+Filip Cernelic They're in Peille, a small commune north of Nice in southern France. They're the home trails of Vouilloz and Barel - well worth a visit!
I have this bike
Meta V4 in carbon?
That would be something special.
Price?
+J&M Productions £3065, depending on the value of the Euro
please... spanish subtitles.....for latin america....pleeeaaaseee :-)
