Couldn’t be happier! Everything worked out just right. Got my money back on the sale of the Bronson, Commencal was super cool and gave me a nice discount, and…now that they’re in Colorado, we no longer have to pay sales tax. Oh, and the bike as I show it on the video still needs some adjusting; like the remote lock on the shock, bleeding of the dropper post and setting the sag.

Nice vid! Lots of good new bike footage. I wish you'd explained what I think is a shock remote? Any tips on getting what you refer to as a "nice discount" from Commencal? I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on one of their pricier MetaPower... Thanks man!!
aram schum Thanks! It’s a shock remote lock-out. I’ll go into more detail in my next video. As for the discount, I simply called them (CommencalUSA). Best of luck on the Meta Power👍🏽

I ended up deciding to wait, since it's such a big investment and the Metapower model I want isn't available until 6/15, which is a long time to get buyer's remorse. I'm also on the fence between an integrated battery and the externally mounted battery like the Metapower has. I do like the Shimano Steps motor...The Commencals are a great deal how they're spec'd. I'm glad I waited, however, because Commencal just dropped the 29er Metapower, which is pretty sick and just $500 more than my original model choice. I have no doubt that Commencal would probably help me out with some kind of discount if I called and asked, and there's always the option of waiting until they might have surplus stock to put on sale before next year's model releases. Plus, e-mtbs will only continue to become more efficient with better motors and power, be better integrated into the frames, and will decrease in price as sales and popularity increase. Interestingly enough, there are a lot more riding options locally than I thought there would be. I keep hoping EMBN will review the Metapower.

Got the meta race eagle today! Still have cut the dropper cable. But damn it’s an awesome bike! Did a little 6 mike trail and it handles so well, feels amazing! It wants to go fast! Hope your as stoked as I am! Wife isn’t gonna be happy with it in the bedroom!

Congratulations on the new bike ! I have been loving my HT Meta that I have been riding for a month now . My 8 year old is my riding buddy as well but is a tad too small for a 24" wheel MTB , he is making due with a 20" Hotrock for now but I can't wait to get him on a Commencal .
I'd like to see you and your son ride Santa's Village . When we come to visit my dad in the Moreno Valley this summer , Santa's Village is a bike park I'd like to visit.
71hernandez - oh man, the HT metas are sweet looking! I’m sure they’re super fun to ride also. Oh man, 8yrs old...enjoy every moment. As for Santa’s Village, you have to go there when you come. It’s tons of fun and I think they just opened a new green/beginner trail, which sounds perfect for my boy. Hoping to take him there this Summer. All the best to you! I’m sure some will give you crap for getting rid of the Nomad and getting a Meta, however the Meta is a damn good ride with great geo and spec for the $. Plus father and son time is priceless! Cheers!

what a nice bike man! but theres one thing that catches my attention is i see a commencal hardtail in the video if im not mistaken thats the 2018 commencal meta ht am origin 27.5+?im always been looking for a video or review for that bike lately but i couldnt find one..but now i see someone who own one and i highly appreciate it if you make a video or review of that bad ass red hardtail you got there...thanks in advance and more power to your channel..

As for the dropper, this will be my 3rd new bike and I find it common (need to bleed). I had to cut the cable to my fit. CommencalUSA.com has a how-to video on this. It's awesome man! I think it's playful on the jumps and it's got enough travel to take on big hits. The only thing I noticed is the bearings in the rocker slightly popped out. It still good to ride but I got a hold of CommencalUSA and they're sending me a replacement. Hope this helps! Ride on brother....

BRUCE ALCORIZA The rocker is the pivot part the sits in the middle of the seat tube and connects the rear triangle to the shock. Anyone getting a 2018 needs to (i suggest) ask Commencal if the rocker bearings system is the new one that includes a D-ring which prevents the bearings from coming out.

Thanks man. I’ve looked at the Clash but haven’t considered buying because it looks like too much bike for me. The Meta has always been my go-to bike. Not sure if this helps or not

I have the same meta as you and just 3 weeks ago I ordered a rear hanger for the meta AM bad news is it didn't fit at all smh I'm not sure if the rear triangle has been updated to the 2017 to 2018 models or they just pulled off a wrong hanger by mistake... either way I realign the old hanger to still keep my going. If you pull off the hanger off your bike you'll notice its round edge from up top vs the previous hanger on there sight is square edge from the the top and what's BULLSHIT there description says "fits all meta am"

MILTONATOR Keep an eye on the headset, my bike and other riders have the problem that it gets loose sometimes, hope yours is fine.

Travis dankerl 5 days! CommencalUSA is in Colorado and I’m in California which is approximately 4 days of travel when shipping ground. So, they were right on! 👍🏽

I what I wanted to know is how the nomad and the meta are different for our trails pros and cons? Between both as bicycle warehouse won’t let me demo the nomad

Arnel Carag Thanks! Well, to start let me just say that my Nomad was a Large...and was a bit too big for me. The Medium has almost identical geometry as my Meta Medium. One difference is the headtube angle on the Nomad is .5 slacker. To answer your question, I think that if I had gotten a Medium Nomad, it would have been just as awesome as my Meta. But because I had a Large, comparing the two would not be a fair comparison. One HUGE difference is the obvious price tag that in my opinion, the 1.5 lbs savings in weight because of the carbon just isn’t worth it. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.

Hey great video, curious which dropper post do you have on this bike? You mentioned it's a medium but looks long for a 125mm post.
Brian Ng Thanks! Yes, 125mm Reverb. I works but personally I would have preferred 150mm so I could slam it.

Brian Ng I think it fits. I remember going through the A La Carte steps @ CommencalUSA.com and having the option of a 150mm dropper post. I say check it out for yourself just to be sure. Hope that helps some

Have you considered going back to the meta? I just picked up the new 2021 can’t wait to ride it . Unfortunately I won’t receive it till April. What are you thoughts on the upgraded geo for 2021 ?

The ‘21 Meat AM (and TR) look so darn good. The new frame design is super clean. The geo kinda worries me, tho. The old 2020 medium is now a size small based on updates geo. As tempting as it is to go back to it, I seriously would have to demo one before committing. It looks dialed for straight descents and I’m sure it will swallow up everything, but I fear it’s gonna be sluggish on the turns and twists. But yea, I miss it Commencal. Congrats man!
@@MILTONATOR yeah, I actually had ordered a size M without checking the new sizing chart. So I emailed them and asked if the differences were marginal. They advised me to go down a size . Luckily they were still able to change my order to size small . They do look bad ass 😍

I just ordered a commencal meta am v4.2 and was wondering if anything needs to be tuned up like the shifting. Or do you get the bike out of the box. Build it and ride?
Wyatt Boneski Congratulations! The only adjustment needed is sizing the cable on the dropper post, in my experience. It’s not difficult if you’ve done it before. If first time, I recommend watching their installation video on Commencal’s website (or youtube). Shifting and brakes should be good to go out of the box. And sag setup, of course. Hope that helps👍🏽

Wise Wolf Yes! That’s the only thing I modified to fit me. Although no instructions on how to do it are included, CommencalUSA website has an easy to follow how-to video.

MILTONATOR I’m 15 and I grew a foot in the last year so I bought a bike that would be too big for me on purpose too grow into it as they are a lot of money

Alvin Enobio - I don’t. Post them on Pinkbike and Facebook. What helps is that the mtb scene is pretty strong where I live.
How was it in climbing?

vicente antonio - Nuevas, the Giant esta. $2700 (Dollares) y la 4.2 Origin $2000. La 4.2 Ride cuesta $2500. Para mi, Commencal es mejor diseñada para Enduro y son mi preferencia. Otra de mis razones, no tan importante, es que no son tan comunes como Giant. Espero te ayude y no te confundi.
