2K needs to allow people to remake builds over at least one time for each build made! Stop being money hungry and allow us to be able to refund a build at least once smh or put it in the spin wheel!
It sounds like you’re referencing a similar style to NBA Live 19’s builder and I’m not opposed to it but 2K is known for not fully fleshing out these concepts.
The dual archetpe system will save 2k25.
It will make people play to their roles of the aechetype and u wont see thay superstar build bull.
Everyone will play to their archetype and it will take skill to perform based upon the weaknesses that each aechetype have

But they love to cater to the UA-camrs. Where they'll get their input, and then a month in, those same UA-camrs are bitching about the game. Make a game where there are legit pros and cons to things, make people play that role, or archetype you mentioned, and the have will be fun for casuals and die hards

I liked the replica builds from 2k23 better than the template builds, plus the builder in 2k23 felt better because it didn't feel as restrictive. Unlike in 2k24 Then again 2k23 was the first 2K I played a lot since like 2K14.
Honestly Demi if 2k goes back to the same exact builder they had for 2k19, and the exact same badge progression system they had for 18/19, it would be a much more diverse game.

Having access to template builds as an OPTION.. ok! but BRUHH.. I WOULD NEVER GIVE 2K MY SUPPORT, TO NEGATIVELY IMPACT-(nerf), SOMETHING I'VE ALREADY PAID FOR!!! The 2k needs to get rid of the bad, catch/fall out of bounds, "SHAQTIN LIKE" animations, & make it cheaper to be competitive!
Since they're always tweaking the game after release, why not allow us to "tweak", the builds, whenever there's an update! They can Add 99ovr builds to the daily free spin.. 🤷🏽♂️/ or as a level 40 season reward!

Don't even play it like I used to spend a $1000 in beginner this season making 10 Bills and now I don't even play. I stopped playing on the season five

Template builds is fun, it keeps the game interesting for players who don’t wanna keep using the same builds or playing the same playstyle they just need to bring back the special names for making one and actually be able to edit the stats just a little bit and still get the template lmaybe even add they face creation to the myplayer

Demi is on to something I may get back into 2K again. I miss the dual archetype and pie chart era when the game was balanced and fun to play.
I think what’s best for 2k25 is, you will not be able to make your own build, but you will be able to pick an nba template with their *EXACT* stats. Which means every player will be different. Different jumpers, layups, dunks, etc.
Please no more template build, just put a 2k15 builder system, where you can do everything and there no limit on jumpshot for any height and bring back jumpshot number, and set shot.
Idk why they can't just do that. Was way more fun imo. Good at everything except for one set path.

First off keep the builder we have I feel like there hasn’t been any problem Builds like the past and bring in this template system you’re talking about because it just gives people more options That might appeal to the people that don’t have a lot of time, but want to play the game.
We need a bigger court and add like a co-op mycareer or something to make it fun.
We don’t want everyone having same build that was the whole point of the new builder is so everyone would have unique builds

Adding builds every season sounds like a money grab no templates shouldn’t be behind a paywall or grind that should be open off rip if yall want this it’s over community shooting itself in the foot
U need to have a look at the NHL build system, similar to what u r talking abt but for each position/height/weight there is a max/min for each attribute. Keeps it balanced but can have a unique build.
What if you want to make a player like luka or a lebron james build, people like recreating players and playing like them using all there animations etc. Like pro play
Everyone having an all around star. Is the only way to create a skill gap because. Then it comes down to stick work, Otherwise your gonna always have builds that’s completely better then others allowing players to do things others can’t.

Honestly I think it will be the same. Simply because everyone will gravitate to the best build at that position. Uncle Demi said it’s always going to be a Meta. Certain builds will just triumph over others in certain game modes.
Would love if we got access to the 2k league game as a ranked mode and instead of grinding a player, it’s almost like stage where each player inputs 5k vc and winners take the pot.
I think this myplayer builder will be best for the whole community, not just the guys who are on UA-cam and twitter, which makes up an incredibly small portion of the player base. You need to make the game easily accessible to the casual gamer, whether that be an an old head that’s got the reaction time of a sloth or a little kid that just doesn’t know any better.
Make a 2k where you create a calibrated player where you work in the gym do drills and that's your attributes for the week. Kinda like the hot zone shooting. Make like the better you practice the better you play
I like this preset builds idea, it will keep 2k interesting build wise and playstyle wise. I think We need a grind that’s worth it to play or something other than the legend grind. I think 2k should redo the pro am rank we have now and make so you can play solo if you want make each player choose what position they’re playing and matchmake 5v5 with real ranks and separate rewards. Good for content and to give the game some longevity.
I appreciate the effort to find a solution to balance the game! That could be a solution. But the build that I create are pretty uniq. For example not a lot of people will create 6’11 SF, and I have 2 versions of that build . Or 7’0 PF that can shoot and dribble and slash.. I don’t want to be limited because I don’t find my heights into the templates offered at the beginning of the game. And even if the height are available, may be I would have assigned the attributes differently based on my gameplay that could be different from an other user. I don’t want to be put on a threshold or my build creation to be limited..
I like the idea, but COD still release a different game every year and it’s on a rotated schedule between 3 different companies. That gives their game developers a 3 year window to produce the next game. 2K has been tweaking the same game since it came out. Not saying this idea won’t work, but as a long time player of the game they should be bringing fresh minds in every chance they get. Making the park, theatre, and Rec free is the equivalent of war zone being free in COD. And from what it looks like COD is switching up Warzone every few years, while adding new weapons (animations/badges in 2K) yearly. This could be a really dope idea but they need to execute it well. That’s just my opinion.
Fix the contest system, phantom foul calls and stupid catch animations and that'll be a start. Also the getting pushed out of bounds stuff underneath the basket with no foul call.
If they do decide to use this idea the biggest thing that we all worry about is VC carrying over to the next game so VC will have to carry not a percentage but ALL OF IT. If memory serves me right I had over half a million VC on my 2k23 account. Also if they do this I want all my builds to carry over too and be at the same overall.
Drop the league build so people can get compy and join teams and leagues. 3v3 and 5v5 pro am type gameplay and maybe you go to park and rec just for fun. Leave the casual build the way it is a fun arcade my career experience
Template builds are cool, but I see no reason in using them this year. The whole point they made was so you got the players signature animations, even if their attributes didnt meet the requirements, yet 75% of the builds have nothing more than a jumpshot and free throw animation in the game. At least last year you got a cool build name. They should make it to where if you make a template build, you get to use the player you made's official face scan on your player or something. Or just make sure anyone who is a template build has every animation in the game.

Making everyone use the same builds isn’t leveling the playing field, it’s accommodating players that can’t prepare themselves. We all have access to the same builder
If people has to pay $55 to $60 for a a yearly DLC package, then it’s not FTP.
Dual Archetype system was the best, but let us customize our own build.

Let's all be honest here, the only thing saving 2k is if they make VC grindable/lower VC prices, improve the MyCareer storyline (Making it more engaging), giving us better rewards that are actually worth grinding for, and fixing all the bullshit bugs that they be leaving in the game showing us that they actually care about us as a community.

Then you going to get forced to buy 10 different builds because none of them is close to the build you really want. They already force us to add free throws attributes or attributes we don’t want. I want a builder with no limitations. Where you can make an actual nba player and not a replica.
2k isn’t making money off the initial purchase. They made make money off of resetting builds, and builds overall. So the dlc idea won’t work (money wise.).
Also template builds remove “mistake” money.

I agree with everything you saying about the templates. How you do it like. Call the duty weapons like they need to figure something out. And like you said, we aint got to be the smarter person to figure this stuff out. They got people they paid to do that. So all they have to do is make sure that they game this functional and making sure it's playable for everybody else to enjoy. That's why like you said. These games has been out for 06/07/1015 years, and people are still planning because. They love the thrill of the game is free. So all I have to do is pay for upgrades or I gotta pay for is this or are by a biopass and I get these upgrades. Why not keep it like that like every other game is doing it and making millions and billions of dollars off of them. So why is 2K forcing? The players like us who wants to play this game and love the game of basketball to keep making it worse for Everybody else Like You literally making it. So we pay out thousands of dollars just to make a character. We can't delete our characters and get our money back if we mess up on a player. I think we should be able to delete 2 players. And get our money back? If we delete 2 players at least I mean cause I made 10 I can't get no money back for none of them. That's wrong. I think they need to fix that system. I don't think you should be able to get banned or get your color drop because their system is faulty and all of a sudden. It's laggy and you get booted out and all of a sudden, they drop your stats for that. I don't think it's right for you to pay all this money for a game and it's competitive. Everybody's sitting out here arguing and you get banned for since you're talking mess I mean I understand you're making dead threats or something like that. 2k doesn’t want balance they make all there money of people creating 3+ builds. Everything demi is saying NBA live 19 has already done that. Thats why alot of content creators are still playing that game cause the ground work of the game is solid, they just need 2k animations

Nobody want to spend money on a build and it gets its attributes knocked down. They need to make the game fee, and you just pay for your builds, and the better you are at my Career when your done with that team which ever team wants you the most will pay you more vc per year then other teams or offer you more vc to stay with that team.

Template builds will not save 2k. Not recycling animations will save 2k. It’s been the same dunks, passing, layups and crossover in the past couple of 2k. It’s definitely time for a change. Also, all these methods of transportation can go. We don’t need it put something more useful in the game. Last but not least leave the shooting alone. All these micro updates change things is for the birds
For example, why not add new dunk, crossover, layups packages every season. Not hair, t-shirts and hats. Stuff that doesn’t help. Stop chasing the dollar and make a basketball game that is fun to play and not pay to win.

Just go back and build on that game.
