- Celebrating his 20th year anniversary in the martial arts, Brad Randolph, head instructor and owner of Boulder Karate, demonstrates some of his training: conditioning, kata, pads, and techniques.
Master Randolph believes in longevity through the martial arts, and that self defense practice should be executed with the partner's safety in mind. He trains targeting, positioning, and body manipulation on partners with moderately powerful strikes to insensitive areas, and saves full power practice for pads and bags.
Huge thanks to Tom Parkin Films, and to Kaley Dysert, Stephan Bennett, Walker Chipman, Jeff Baines, and Andrew Bennett for being the attackers for the techniques!

I know what you mean. My sensei in Kara-Ho (im a yellow belt) is in shape and OBSESSED with the basics! I'm overweight and trying to fix that, but idk if I'll ever be as smooth or crisp as he can move, lol.

Kara Ho? Why do you refer to your master as Sensei? Kara Ho is Chinese boxing. I would refer to him or her as Sifu. Why, though? I’m curious…

Studied Okinawa karate in Chicago, back in the days. Waste of time! I like kempo & hapkido. I'm 56 yrs old, wish I could go back in time. Ive done both Shaolin Kempo and American Kenpo. Shaolin has alot of impractical movements imo, where as American style teaches to think on the fly.
I don’t think much of kempo. But this guy is great.

Hey Brad are ya doing? I am in my mid 50s I came aboard the Kempo scene in 1990, I am an instructor and Owner of my studio and I have yet to find someone who is on the Caliber of a Ed Parker, Jeff Speakmen type Physical contact fighter who is in shape... wish I would have an Instructor like you back then.. I would have moved to Colorado... I just subscribed and I think the Kempo world has to stick together.... I have been watching many videos on Techniques and many are not that great...As a Master you have to think like one and perform like one...some of the videos I see are not explained well.....I think some of these Masters and Instructors forget sometimes that we have to compensate for different size people when they are demonstrating a technique. What might work for a smaller person may not work on a taller attacker especially if they are stronger and Vise Versa....
If a mongoose was somehow humanized it would be this guy who emerges from the ash.
I read that Marcus Luttrell is a blackbelt in Kempo. I think he's a 5th Dan. Just FYI
