Im only 19 and dave is like my biggest role model!!! I look up to him like no other.
I just picked one of these up today per your expert advice. All I can say is wow. This is the answer to my knife needs in my kit. Thanks Dave.
Thanks so much for working with Mora on this project. I just pre-ordered one. I've spent literally hours looking for a knife that fits all the qualifications of this one - full tang, carbon steel, Scandi grind - just like you have taught. The downside to anything that came close to those qualifications is they were all BIG knives. (At least for me). I'm an older woman with small hands, a touch of arthritis, and not as much strength as I used to have. What a time to start learning bush crafting! I have found the bigger knives a bit unwieldy. The Mora Companion I have is easy to use and enjoyable. If only they made a smaller knife that met all the other qualifications. . . Oh, wait! Now they do! Thanks so much, Dave, for your hard work and excellent teaching. Much appreciated.
Thanks Dave ~ My pre-order was just confirmed. Look forward to getting my Mora Garberg. Your continue service to our community is much appreciated.
Many people asked for the carbon version and here it is. Thank you for the information.
I own the stainless version and I luv it people say it’s to exspensive at around $80 but if u put benchmade on the blade and charged $150 for it no one would think twice about the $150 price tag
Barry Bueler I think thats largely because the Mora name is synonymous with a decent blade for CHEAP. To be fair to the naysayers, $80usd will buy a better knife... Actually it will buy a couple better knives. The Garberg has advantages but they aren't huge and the market is overflowing with quality knives for $30-$60usd. I'm happy to see Mora finally bringing this to market but they are at least 10 years late to the show... I'll personally wait untill the price drops a bit but i do dig the knife.
The stainless version is amazing. Their carbon steel is typically spot on. I think this is a great option.
Very cool.
Happy Mora is working with Dave.
Both these parties are the real deal.
Knowledge is real power. Still trying to learn it all. What you have posted, thank you
Consistent perfect practice, makes perfect practice permanent!! Repetition builds muscle memory!! Dave, you are amazing; in that every video I watch from you, your technique is the same over and over, thus the above quotes!! THANK YOU😎
Thanks Dave for presenting another great knife from Mora. They never cease to provide a good quality blade
This is the very reason I haven't purchased a Garberg. It's a great knife, very sharp, comfortable in the hand, and light weight. Many of my Pathfinder brother's have the Garberg witch is where my use of it lies. I look forward to them being available so I can get hands on one. As always thanks for the awesome video, Dave. I will see you sometime this year as I work toward my instructorship.
just ordered this carbon version today, can't wait for the delivery
I’ve been waiting for this to happen. I’m glad I heard it from you Dave! Thanks for getting the news to us all. Really appreciate the advice and information.
Great to hear about this, have been wanting a garberg since it was announced but was holding out for this very thing. Will definitely be picking one up now.
sweet...very grateful to you sir and the Pathfinder School for first crack at this beauty! Oh...and Morakniv too!
Thanks Dave, great demo. I think I need one.
Best review yet. Thank you.
Just got my second Mora Garberg in carbon steel. I cannot find one imperfection on this knife. I like how this knife is not painted, it is blued. Well guys and gals, I'm hooked on Mora.
Sold me…if it’s good enough for the baddest man in the woods its good enough for me…Thanks Dave and Merry Christmas
Just bought one of these.
Good video Dave!
Awesome review Dave
Very cool, thanks Dave.
Yes! I've been holding out for something like this. I've got some basic mora knives but haven't spent money on one of their high end products. This spring I will!
That carbon steel Garberg looks good. I already have the stainless steel one and it is a very rugged capable survival knife. I will get this carbon steel one soon. Keep up the good work and bringing us good quality products Dave!
Thanks for the update.
Great demo Dave!
Gonna be a good day new video to enjoy. Thanks Dave
I have the Stainless Steel Garberg, and had wished it was Carbon Steel. I have the Mora Black as well, and that is my Go to knife. So cool the Garberg is coming out in Carbon Steel. This will make a Great Knife even more useful and valuable in the woods. Thanks for the heads up to this knife.
Glad they came out with this !!
Great video. Thanks for the demo of how to use it as a fire starter.
You've got it all nailed, the carbon steel is what got us here and will carry us to the end, if it comes with zero problems when you don't need problem. Happy Trails .
Just pre-ordered with the Leather Sheath. I love my Stainless version, can't wait to beat this one up too.
Awesome good sir! Looking forward to a carbon steel garberg!
I got mine pre-ordered, can’t wait!
Thanks Dave
well said David Canterbury - the best knife from morakniv for this particular situation.
Hey David. Found your Channel a few mounths ago and find it amazing. Me and my 2 year old son watch a few videos every day.
And i just har to say that it makes me glad as a swede to see you use both fjällräven and Mora.
Nice work Dave, I think a lot of people will be eager to get the carbon steel version.
This video answered my questions about which MORA I intend to buy! Thanks again😎
I'll be picking one up for my channel for sure.
You are an amazing guy the world needs more people like you
This is wonderful news. More options are always good and I definatley prefer how carbon performs and sharpens over the stainless steels on offer from Mora. I guess its a logical step to release a full tang carbon blade but I'm not terribly worried about knives like the Bushcraft Black breaking.
TheKimjoh560 I agree but it's a good look and feeling having a full tang.
Good one Dave......... Jimmy .................
great video. great channel
Owned one away back so long ago we cannot remember where we purchased it or where it is today. Today, without a doubt the best working carbon steel outdoors fixed blade is the Russell Survival belt knife, Made in Pictou, Nova Scotia, Canada, and costs approx.$100..00 or less, Check it out.
Thanks! Good news!
With years having gone by, I'd be curious if you (and other experts) have compared the Garbert vs. other big name knife manufacturer's scandi knives, such as Tops BOB, ESEE RB3, LT Wright GNS....
I hope to get one before Morakniv Adventure :)
Great Video...safe travels in 2018 Dave
Love my Garberg. I just wish the blade was a little longer.
Great knives! Thumbs up from Sweden
I would like to get a hold of both the stainless steel and the carbon steel version of the Garberg to see which I like the best. I own four other Mora knives and I flat out love them.
Now we are talking. Big fan of Mora knives but wasn’t into the stainless version of this. Looking forward to getting my hands on a carbon one.
The Mora gods have answered our prayers
Aye! Ordered! Drooling!
I know every knife freak has their opinion...Mora makes products that are, arguably, THE best "bang for buck" mass marketed knives.
Thanks very good
Dave I'm about to send you a new flannel. Or maybe next time you are in Indy. Lol love you videos hell most people that are in this look up to you. Best wishes
It's cool but I have been rocking the Mora Bushcraft black for a few years now and that has never let me down. Even been playing with a Mora No. 2 and really like that as well. Maybe I'll get one in a few years if the price ever drops. With $100, I'd rather put that towards a PKS knife. Cool product though.
I got the Mora Robust Pro!
Great knife for the price 🙂
Best regards ✌️
Looks good.
i have juse a Mora bushcraft survival black for the last 5 years and its a awesome knife
Very nice knife. 👍
Now I want a garberg!
Awesome.
i already had the stainless sharpened it to scandi hair shaving sharp great knife ..got carbon today it baisly has no micro bevel i stropped it on my leather belt shaving sharp wow what an edge it took and fast love this thing if i had to pick i woukd take the carbon just has a keen super sharp edge and popped to life fast
Finally, a reversible sheath! Think I'll wait a year until it's 20-30 dollars cheaper on amazon.
It was only a matter of time before this happened. I still like "Carberg" better for the Carbon Steel name. LOL! I'm happy with the stainless version. I'd have to be desperate to beat a rock against the spine. Atb Sean
Desert Trekker Is a survival situation not desperate? That's the point... as Dave said, very clearly, this knife was designed to fill the niche of a survival knife. If you have everything you need then its camping, not survival, unless you want to argue the symantics of what exactly survival is. At that point we can argue to the end of time because the the very nature of our being, our daily life, is survival.
Ok cool thanks for the information , really good to know
Awesome man. Like it. If I didn't already have an Esee, I'd be all over it. Do love their little neck knife though. I don't play SS otherwise.
Yo from Idaho~
Wow that took so fast . I hope you ship to the UK I'd love to own one
Mora could have released both carbon and stainless simultaneously . A lot of people who buy both would have only bought the carbon there for increasing overall sales.
Hello Dave. Great introduction of new product.
I'd like to ask you what is your impression on holding an edge in carbon version, compared to stainless?
Regards, Piotr
like that knife good bit of kit ill have to get one
Great quick review. One Question, how would this new knife compare to the Mora Clipper?
The first Mora I actually want to buy! Holy poopenschnitzel!
If I used a knife as a one tool option, I'd seriously check into this carbon steel Mora. Been carrying the same old meat cleaver ($1 yard sale) into the woods for over 40 years now & she's just too reliable to change.
I epoxied the handle of my Garberg to make it smooth, I can't complain, it's a good knife.
Dave to you ever carry your PLSK1 anymore?
What's your thoughts on the mora black Bushcraft in carbon steel? I like the built in fire starter and sharpener on the sheath. I can't make up my mind on that one or the garberg carbon
I really didn’t care to have a stainless garberg, but the carbon, yeah I want one for sure. Love the design and the sheath options are nice. Will the carbon garberg have the same sheath options as the stainless does?
Drat I need to reload my prepaid card! Or else I would have already pre-ordered one.
I need one....I need one now
(RUS)
Thanks, good man!
I always have my Mora companion hd with me in the woods. At $15 and carbon steel it does its job well. I believe they missed it on this one at the $99 price point. I would only be spending that on a Jeff white or PKS knife or some other crafted one...
Just wondering if you had a recommendation in regards to sheath choice mulit-mount vs leather I was thinking of preordering? I do like to wear in the neck position. Thanks!
I think I might wait and see if it gets cheaper.
Do you ship to the UK?
Thanks for the intro Dave. I see you have some Fallhaven (spelling??)
pants on. Are you planning on doing a review of them in near future?
Amen bro!
I have MORA GARBERG FIRST VERSION, I AM VERY SATISFIED !!!
Carbon! HAPPY now.
Ack! I just bought my Garberg last month and my wife says I'm on knife buying restriction (rightly so. I'm a knife addict) The only thing I didn't like about my Garberg was the stainless.
One Carbon knife for survival task & one SS knife for the other survival task.... eating! I don’t like the carbon knives bleaching in my food
Hey Dave what's the price point going to land around? The stainless has finally settled around $70-80 but IMHO the Carbon should be cheaper cause of steel cost. I absolutely love my Garberg BUT a carbon version would be nice, all though with their new 14C28N the edge strength isn't much different anymore. I can put a hair popping edge on mine with ease.
I have plenty of carbon knives... The SS version is a great knife exp when used for food prep. This is why I’ll probably pass on the carbon.... However it was still a good video
Does anybody know what carbon steel they used exactly? All i can find is that it's a "high quality carbon steel", which doesn't say much.
C100
Hello Sir. I’ve recently got a Bahco 2449 in carbon steel. Relatively inexpensive, about 15-20 dollars. It’s a real beast. I would love and appreciate if you test it in the field or say your opinion about it against Garberg. Affordable for a vast circle of people. And thank you for great informative videos.
Good report. I have a favor to ask. I was wondering if the dark colored object leaning against the wall inside your shed is a small boat or a sled? I am looking for a little boat exactly like that. If it is a boat do you happen to know the manufacturer? Thanks.
stupid marketing .. why not bring out both versions 2 years ago and everybody would be happy ?!
Wjelk to buy the ss version just because of the hype... and two years later the carbon version to get the money again.
if they decided to make an ss and an carbon version, they only earned half the money.
strategic decision.
greetings from cologne, germany
arthur
It’s actually a smart marketing plan to make more money. People wanted a full tang Mora so they settled for the Garberg even though it wasn’t hi-carbon. Now Mora releases a hi-carbon version and the same people buy that knife too.
