  • Today, I take you guys along with me as I pull my intake manifold (which I had just pulled last week lol) and valve cover to replace the valve cover gaskets, as well as clean up and paint the cover! It wasn't too bad of an afternoon job, but it sure looks good now!! Thanks for watching, and enjoy!

    great job. that thing looks awesome. I've never seen anyone paint a battery before. it looks great.
    lower control arms! yeah. I'm excited about your next big adventure. your skills are really coming along! you mentioned in this video how easy it was to pull your intake manifold. see how your experience makes things seem so much easier?
    im still in awe of how good it looks under the hood. i need to start making my stuff look nice instead of being function only. lol.
    i was just looking at things that you could upgrade while you had it apart. performance coil pack. air intake. bigger cams. once again, great job and great video.

      +Eric Ernst Thanks Eric! Yes, I am more and more comfortable with working on my own stuff! I've learned you just gotta go for it. I use to often be nervous about getting it apart and making it worse lol. But really, its all pretty simple, just a lot of little crap you gotta get in line haha. Yep, lower control arms!! You know alllll about that don't ya lol. Im learning from your videos. It should be too bad! Interesting mods you mentioned also! Thanks again man, appreciate it!! And thanks for the follow on the FB page!!

    You have been a lifesaver in helping do things to my PT but now I have a problem. The elbow plug on the throttlebody broke when I took it out (it completely disintegrated on removal) I am trying to find another one but I can't seem to find one. What is it exactly called and do you know where I can get PT cruiser parts. I have a 2010 2.4 pt cruiser

      Thank you, glad you like the videos! I know the elbow you're talking about, I'm honestly not sure what it would be called or how to find one. If you were able to find a picture of one and bring it into an auto parts store, maybe they could help find one? All I know about it is that's the vacuum line I tapped into to run my boost gauge. Best of luck, and thanks again!

    What exactly is the part number on the gasket. I have ordered 2 different gasket sets. Neither would fit. ( 9 bolt center serial number 8) Ive tried Vel Pro and Mahle.

    Hey, I had a question for your pt Turbo do you use any gunk motor flush for your car at all?

    Horrible. Im gonna, ok done. Im gonna, ok done. He practically had to turn the car over to get the valve cover out. So now imagine a delicate valve cover gasket on the bottom of valve cover. I wana see how he got it back in. Sure not the way it came out.

    R the turbo’s same as the base DOHC 2.4’s?

    • @billdarnell9591
      @billdarnell9591 2 роки тому

      No they are not. The turbo model has more horsepower because it has the turbo on the motor. Harder to work on also. Things way more cramped.

    did you add anything to the gasket? any rtv or it just goes on like that

    • @JimmyCruiser_CGE
      @JimmyCruiser_CGE  7 років тому

      +Nexus_gt35 (Urban Mods) Nope, I just installed the gasket and bolted it up! Me personally, I'd rather be sure that the bolts are torqued right rather than add rtv (at least with the value covers). Good luck and thanks for watching!

    What plugs did you use ??

    • @JimmyCruiser_CGE
      @JimmyCruiser_CGE  2 роки тому

      Been a long time since I made that video, now a-days I like to use an Iridium plug of some sort in turbo’d cars unless otherwise specified. I used NGK Iridiums in my PT GT once I tuned it, a little pricey but they’re the best option in my book! But again as long as they’re iridium.

    Looks pretty informative but damn, man - your camera works SUCKS. Don't you have a friend who can help you out? Half the time you were either too close or pointed the wrong way. It got so annoying I had to exit, it was just too choppy and frustrating - like I wanted to grab the camera and move it to where it should be looking and not at your windshield.
