im playing this song at our local music session - thanks to you . just realised that most of the songs i like and sing are 8 bar blues. I hadn't heard the Jazz Gillum version before - its very good. so Thanks again . Great lesson. Re your comments. The song was first recorded by Charles Seagar as a 12 Bar it can be heard on UA-cam. Jazz Gillum recorded the first 8 bar version followed by Big Bill. At least one version had Washboard Sam on washboard.

I used to play this with my dad's band. He played keys and sang I played an electric guitar. At the end he would do this w.c. fields bit "ahh yess.... the only way to win a fight with a woman is with your hat" 😂
