Actually we know that both of the new allegations that she brought up during the hearing (explicit pictures and SA) are false, because the digital forensics investigators would have found those pictures if they had ever existed, and there were witnesses testifying that she was never left alone with him at the events she was accusing him of SAing her at. But the media then reported her false accusations as if that was what he pled guilty to, even though all he pled guilty to were the text messages, which he has taken full responsibility for. The New Your Times actually recently issued a retraction of their article where they had reported this false information about Drake, but of course the damage to his reputation has been done, which I think is a huge injustice to Drake.
To be clear - obviously it was still grossly negligent of Drake not to make completely sure of how old she was before replying to her, which he takes full responsibility for in every interview I’ve heard of him (if you want to know why he was so negligent in that situation, listen to his appearance on the We Are Man Enough podcast where he talks about what was going on with him at the time).
XQC had his mind made up before he even watched the video. This is the reason this stuff is so messed up. People that get accused of this sort of thing have their lives ruined and no one doubts the accusations, while ACTUAL predators (Peck) that have connections, get off with a quiet trial and a slap on the wrist and go on to work for Disney.

Yup especially when the story she told was not really plausible based on other people's accounts. It's one of those things where she may be saying the truth but if that's the case she needs to file an actual lawsuit about it not just random blurt it out in public where it won't be investigated properly. The XQC "defend it" meme is all too real that he's so quick to judge people not based on evidence just based on some random feeling of his. He tries to play devils advocate but he's really just digging in his heels despite the evidence against it.
The girls story seems very fake. Besides a lot of the obvious things, she is constantly saying her Aunt was bringing them around and leaving them alone in rooms and "had no idea anything was going on." Seems almost impossible that no one (Dad, Mom, Aunt, Brother, Uncle etc.) would not have an issue with an obsessed teenage girl being ALONE in a bedroom with their celebrity 30+ year old crush.
Another thing is the defense's argument is once she said her age, he stopped contacting her. We don't have the evidence, but the prosecution and defense does - so the fact that they didn't dispute this makes everything she said a lie.
1. he was charged and pled guilty so it has been PROVEN that he did exchange sexual texts with her. that much isn't up for debate.
2. you're assuming peoples guardians are going to be perfect in the presence of a celebrity. they're more likely to be worse guardians because the celebrity holds power over them, they wouldn't expect him to be a bad guy because he's so loved by so many people.
not to mention.. sometimes humans just fking suck at being a guardian no matter how hard they try, and this is very common. even your guardians messed tf up sometimes weather you admit it or not. they're human and they make human mistakes/oversights.
@@BrandonShere you're misunderstanding. he sent sexual texts, plead guilty to that, but his defense says once he asked her age he stopped. ya its still wrong, and you could say he should've known - but he obviously had some restraint if he stopped once she said her age. again, not 100% sure that's true, but the defense says it and the prosecution was able to get all records of chats without denying this claim.
and not buying the guardian thing. im asking myself what is more likely - his story that they were never alone, or her story that they were never alone. if there's no evidence (no Aunt testimony?) im thinking what is more likely, and Im willing to bet at least a majority of parents would not have their daughter be alone in a bedroom with a celebrity twice their age. A 40 year old mom and dad are not star struck from a Nickelodeon dork

Look, I can't tell for certain what took place in a lot of these cases. Sometimes you can tell, like I'm fairly sure Johnny Depp is innocent and other stuff like that. But I feel like sometimes, when there isn't super 100% solid proof, people jump to conclusions way too quickly, whatever those would be. People are either convinced Drake is a .pdf file or piling shit up on the girl. Both options aren't exactly the right course of action. Whatever position you assume, if you end up being wrong, you'd've been victimblaming this entire time. There's a lot of dirty laundry to unPeck here (I'm sorry) with all the abuse stuff, but currently both versions aren't out of the question. I would refrain from being too harsh on both of them until there's a clear answer. Innocent until proven guilty, applies to both.

There's a lot of contradicting information here, I'm not an expert so IDK for certain, but I definitely don't want to jump to any of the two extreme conclusions.
