back in grade school, we would get AR points for reading books and taking tests on the them in the library. I assume that is what he is talking about. Reading the small non-fiction books for easy points rather than the larger ones. And in my school, even the Encyclopedia counted as a book you can read and get points on. It was worth a good amount of points, but I didn't think it was worth trying. But I think a few people at my school tried it.
