Hi Anita and Nico, I am watching you from Haiti and already subscribed to your UA-cam channel. Incredibly I bumped into your UA-cam video because I like homesteaders. You might find this strange as I did but... I am your neighbor from Sao Joaninho, Santa Comba Dao!!! When I saw your house, I had the idea to buy it before, but in the end, I bought another one 3 years ago. Congratulations, I really love your house. Good Luck and I wish you all the best!!!
Thank you so much for your lovely comments. There are many charming towns and villages in central Portugal . I love the old stone properties especially and the people are very welcoming 😁
Olá Anita e Miko. Estou feliz por vocês terem conseguido realizar esse sonho antigo. Belo trabalho estão a realizar. Um abraço do velho amigo Jorge Castro, Luanda- Angola.
Good morning from Virginia USA. I will no longer scoff at the “few” weeds I have in the back yard after watching what Tinto has to deal with. Enjoying watching your progress.
The land is great with so many possibilities. But the house is just beautiful. Are you going to give us a tour of the house so we can see what it looks like inside. Looks like you got a beautiful setup there and that house of all the refurbishing of land and homes in Portugal yours is one of the most beautiful! Barb from S. Carolina USA. I will definitely be watching!
Hello there Barb from S Carolina. Great to have you with us! You are right there are so many possibilities. Thank you so much for the lovely comments. We'll be doing a peak into parts of the house within the next couple of videos, and later on we'll make a tour video, so please keep watching!
You've done a wonderful job clearing the well, I hope you plan to fence it again to prevent animals falling in, particularly in the summer when they are seeking water.
Just found your channel! Great to see life being injected into these old buildings. So brave of you guys. I wish we had been younger and braver and we might have attempted a Reno 😂😂
Brambles are only good if they are growing blackberries, dewberries, or raspberries. We would probably call the green in the well duckweed or pondweed. And that missing section of stones have probably fallen inward into the well.
Hi,Not sure about that one, but some of them can be 10 or 15 meters deep, just careful, also in the old days GNR. would pass to see the ones are not Protected and they will give at first warning then big FINES.
You better leave the green stuff on top of the watersurface (don't know how to call in in english) It keeps the light off the water. You get less algies that way.
I love watching videos of revitalizing derelict houses and properties, but must admit to being bored by watching real-time cleaning and clearing. It's too repetitive, and it's so much more exciting to watch the action sped up so a few minutes shows an hour's work progression. I think you won't have to worry about any eels. Eels are marine animals and a few species thrive in fresh water, but have to spawn in the ocean so only live in coastal waters.
Hi Calgram. Thank you for your lovely comments and great information about eels. Phew! No eels for us then! We don't mind the frogs though and we've got salamanders!

Muito obrigado Jorge.
Tinto has done a huge job getting rid of all those brambles.
Thank you! He certainly has! It's great to open up some space and we are hoping to start using the well for its intended purpose soon.

Once you tidy out the brambles it’s a really nice area. Plenty of potential for a really lovely nature area.❤
We'd love to encourage more wildlife
Love watching a good clear out!
Ha ha! We do too! Great to have you with us.

Hi Malcolm from South Africa. Great to have you with us.
You've done a wonderful job clearing the well, I hope you plan to fence it again to prevent animals falling in, particularly in the summer when they are seeking water.
Hi Jean, thank you for your lovely comments. Yes we have plans to top it or fence it before the summer.
Just found your channel! Great to see life being injected into these old buildings. So brave of you guys. I wish we had been younger and braver and we might have attempted a Reno 😂😂
Thank you so much and welcome! Glad you found us.We are no spring chickens ourselves, but hopefully we can see it through.
I just stumbled across your channel and I really enjoyed it. I am from Greenville, Ohio, USA
Hi there Jeanie in Ohio. Thank you so much 😊
Lots of work, lots of plans. Looking forward to the continuing journey❣️From Portland, Oregon🇺🇸
Hi there in Portland USA and thank you 👋
Brambles are only good if they are growing blackberries, dewberries, or raspberries.
We would probably call the green in the well duckweed or pondweed. And that missing section of stones have probably fallen inward into the well.
Thank you Beth. We agree and may drain it next year to retrieve the stones. 😃
If that's duckweed floating in the well, then that good additive to the food of your future chicken.
We have wild ducks that come and eat it .
Looks great. Good work.
Thank you so much

Hi friend
Thank you for the advice
Like your vlog I am watching from Dubai
Hi friend in Dubai. Thank you 😀
Looks like you have Azolla in the well a type of aquatic fern. Didn't get a real close look unless it's duckweed.
I've seen some lovely wells with ferns. Must be the type you mentioned. I think ours is probably duckweed.🙂
Just found you.
Love your content.
Do you live already in the house?
Is the house in good condition and you do only the land?
Greetings from Alaska.
Hi there friend in Alaska
Thank you for your lovely comments. The house needs renovating but parts are habitable
Deviam por uma rede à volta do poço talvez prendendo nesses troncos cortados
Olá amiga. Boa idea
bom trabalho,well done 🙂
Thank you Carlos! It was worth the effort.
The tiny green plant floating on the water is "Lemna minor"
Hi there. Thank you for identifying it

Very good point friend
❤
Thank you
I'd use the chainsaw on those brambles! Perhaps a hedge trimmer or get an Oregon brush cutter blade that would work with your trimmer!
Great idea. Think the hedge trimmer might work 😁
🇺🇸
👏☺️🏴

Looks like duck weed, I think that’s what it’s called
Hi there friend. I think you are right because ducks land on the well and eat it 😁
Lodo no poço
Obrigada
Love watching a good clear out!
