Hi Harriet. In Spain the climate is good for the growth of trees and other vegetables. The customs in the mountain villages that have neighboring forests are the "Lucks", which are raffles of wooded areas to prune. Normally there are some norms of diameter of branches that can be cut or cannot be cut. If this is the case, find out at the town hall. If it finds out whether the trees of the stream below your farm are of the people and if they can be pruned for firewood, respecting the rules of diameter branches, and you will have an extra free firewood pay only your effort to prune and take.

You are making a lovely paradise Harriet! The little balls on the dead tree are where the flowers were. It was a bottle brush. 🙂 Keep in touch with local arborists and let them know they can drop off loads at yours. Sometimes its easier and cheaper for them. Nettles make a great fertiliser. Tofu's help made me laugh 😂 your pond is beautiful ❤ if the funny peas are unpalatable they'll still be great nitrogen fixers for whatever you plant next. They'll be great in compost too. Great video 💚

Herbs that you use most often might not only be handy to have close to your door but will fill that space where the old tree was. Although in saying that with, a partially shaded area might also be good for some mushroom species. So glad you got to spend time with your Mum.
Harriet, so glad you had a nice long work/vacation with your mom there. Having someone else to help makes things easier much of the time. I love your gardens and the changes you are making to your finca. Your climate is similar to where I live so the plants and trees are familiar. Mostly, I enjoy seeing the cats playing in the yard while you are working. They are certainly enjoying life in Spain!

Aww it all looks lovely Harriet. I love the pond, it looks like the one my daughter and I built during the first lockdown. I like to grow all our veg and flowers from seed and it keeps me fit working on our allotment at the back of our farmhouse. Your garden is all looking gorgeous. By the way I asked my daughter about the rare chickens and she started by getting the heritage breeds by buying eggs online and hatching them in the incubator. Better than chickens having to travel miles and miles. We live in a remote area and didn't fancy those poor chickens having to travel either. Its definitely worth getting some nice breeds. Good luck with it all, I love following you.
Collecting seeds becomes a bit of a compulsion doesn't it? Very hard to resist! Love the wildlife pond and I WANT that chainsaw haha! Take care guys, laters! 💚

Love that idea for starter pots with the halving of the TP rolls with the open bottom! What a great tip TY. Also that pond is great. It's a very peaceful spot which we all need in our gardens. Not frivolous at all! Have you thought of "clocking in" as a means to set your routine? Only working set times and hours during the day may be a place to start. Thanks for the video
Hi Harriet, good to see you again. your property is coming along beautifully. It can be overwhelming because there is so much to do. Just pick a spot and work outwards and before you know it, you will have it all somewhat cleared out. lol. the good thing is that its yours and there really is no hurry. Have you though about getting goats or sheep to eat down the fields? they can fertilize as well. Have a blessed day. Love ya.
My husband has a mini chainsaw also and he loves it but it can kickback easily because it is light weight so be careful. Long glove on your other hand is a good idea. My husband slashed his forearm. I got him leather welding gloves to wear. Blessings from Canada 🇨🇦
Found you this morning, love how you're approaching the gardening & also you're wearing gloves which no other UA-camrs seem to do. I can't imagine gardening without them, so many splinters to be had apart from cutting yourself on unknown glass in the soil. Fab little chainsaw. Subscribed & liked 👍
I can definitely sympathize about the challenges of keeping up with your seeds! Thanks very much for sharing your sources.
