Wukong has me completely hooked-124 hours in, and I’m still coming back for more. Meanwhile, Astro Bot felt more like a quick holiday fling-fun, festive, and over in about 26 hours. I did pop back in for the Christmas special, but after that? It’s just been sitting there in my library collecting digital dust. Wukong is basically that game that keeps sliding into my DMs, and I can’t stop replying. Astro Bot was cute, but Wukong is the one I keep going back to like it’s a full-time job.

From what I gather steller blade is pretty mid , it’s action combat is pretty shallow for a character action game, but I haven’t played it yet, but from what Ives seen it looks like a very watered down dmc / ninja gaiden game
As someone who has done three and a half playthroughs of this game, 100% completion and completed all the Challenges (Rivals + Gauntlet Legends) after the recent updates, I welcome you to the undisputed game of the year. Fasten your seatbelt, you are in for a treat. After 300+ hours in the game , I still love it but can't get the same jaw dropping feeling I got when I first played it, so I'm gonna watch you going through this so that I can relive those moments! Switching stances like crazy, using resolut strike and Skyfall. One shotting bosses will medicineand, soaks and curios buffs. Have you completed the Return Of Rivals and Gauntlet Of Legends Challenges in highest difficulty? (these were added some weeks ago in an update). These will test you.

The satisfaction of finishing the game is something I haven't felt in a long time, I defeated all the enemies in the game, that's why it's GOTY in many ways.
Loved seeing your reactions, exactly how I felt when I started the game as well. The toughness will ease up as you continue to grow into the game. The key with the first run is to be able to understand what type of armor, drink or abilities you need before each boss fight. You can shuffle them in the shrine. One piece of advice I’ll give you is: invest your sparks in health first and try to learn resolute strike. Once you learn to counter with resolute, you’ll love it.
@Also can buy a map at the stores of the shrines for the chapters Then you can freely open it up to go to a shrine you need quickly SOMETIMES, it even works in like a miniboss in the open or something, it’s quite lenient, but if you are right in danger though it might not let you. But yeah this is also useful cause there is a lot of secret stuff in the game. Idk if you figured it out in the video, I only watched some portions, don’t have time to watch it all.

Please allow me explain: 1:29 Dragon Bal idea especially the character name is come from Journey to the West. 3:11 Wu Kong is the monkey king. He always look after his kind. And his mountain got lots of monkey has long and wisdom. 3:25 the dog is the 3 eyes Dude's Summoned beast. And 3 eyes is the most skillful battle type god in the heaven. He and Wukong are long rival. 5:13 the pig is Wu Kong teammate when they took the journey. 7:13 is a comment spell in TAO. 撒豆成兵, means throw a bunch of bean and they become your soldier, can be illusion and actual clone, depends caster's ability. But Wu Kong version is his monkey hair and clone that can deal real damage. 11:44 that was 金箍圈, is like a electric neckband but God version. Wu Kong used to wear it along the journey, so that he won't betray the monk. But should had removed when the journey is done. They might just lie to him.
Man there are only a few games that can meet my expectations, but this one, it's like I'm being a child all over again. You know that feeling when you were playing a ps2 game and you were just in shock playing around trying to do different things. As we got older, our game sense just got stronger and we already know what type of game it is, what you can, can't do. But this game... since release was unplayable on ps5 performance mode, a lot of frame dropping. I waited 3 months for first 2 patches, kind of got a placebo effect and finally finished chapter 1. Soon I saw I'm gonna be lagging throughout the whole game so I got used to it. But being a huge Wukong fan, game just kept me pushing and going forward, so addictive. I haven't played any souls like game and I hate that kind of combat, and this game is nowhere near that, it's in a world of it's own. But this game gave me that same "ps2" feeling all over again. I started praying before launching the game to just work without any lag, you don't get to do that with games nowadays. Exploring around, discovering secret areas and bosses, stuff... Like in chapter 2, I just cast a wandering wight spell on accident and smashed through those red doors and was able to fight a secret boss in secret area and got a good reward in that. I'm on on NG++ now and I just keep going and going... I can watch all the cutscenes all over again, animations are beautiful, short ending chapter films etc... I know a GOTY robbery when I see one, and my 2tb extra memory and all those games are getting "digital dust" because of Black Myth. I even stopped online games cause the temptation to just go in the game as soon as ps5 launches is unbelieveable

You also haven’t even seen any hidden bosses yet. There’s just so much more you haven’t seen that will WOW you. In the beginning put your sparks into survivability, health/stamina ect. But don't ignore the stances. I did on most of my first playthrough and that was a huge mistake. Your focus points are everything in combat. You can even parry with them, charge heavy attacks while running, use varied combos and get health back from using them.

You either fight in this game by skills, or by brain, or both. The whiteclad noble is a water python and will regenerate in water. Theres a small piece of dry land in the arena. If you can lure him there and keep him there you'll have an easier time in phase one. You would probably also want to save mana for phases two. Also be mindful of stamina.
You should focus spark on Smash stance (Resolute Counterflow skill tree). See through(like deflection in sekiro) will allow you dodge from enemy attack and punish them. If you practise well, the game is more like Sekiro, hit hit hit deflect, hit, gain focus 3-4 point, charge atk for a big bonk

Don’t forget to turn on the game’s music when you’re back man, this game’s music is so underrated, because of the intense fights sometimes it’s easy to overlook the music. Now I’m listening to the tracks that came with the deluxe version and a lot of them go so hard! Including the White Clad Noble’s track.
One important skill to use is right before an enemy attacks you, hit him with a light attack first, then a heavy attack when he is about to attack you. You are invulnerable during that attack if you have at least one focus point (the bottom right corner)

It's so much fun watching you play bro and the commentary, reactions and talks you throwing at the enemies add to it. I'm gonna watch the whole vid (in parts though 'cause of the duration). Currently paused at 1:20:01 (Deathcount 5) just after dying again to big head (yeah he's a pain in the you know where). Most players end up running past him to the back exit to continue the game, level/upgrade up more and come back for him then. IMPORTANT!!!... Just make sure you don't ring the third bell before going back for him otherwise you'd get locked out from facing him again to beat and get his transformation which is one of the best. I'll continue to watch later and see how you go. Cheers.
The feeling of beating a boss in Wukong is really something else. I haven't fist pump in beating a boss in years since Wukong. Play more of this, I want to see you beat White Clad Noble
When I played it for the first time, there was a boss that cost me 12 hours to defeat, maybe because I was drinking beer and every time my senses went away hahaha, I just had to go to a party and I defeated him, I felt great, I told my sisters until I beat him I'm not going to the party, and I just beat him when we had to leave.
Took me 15 attempts on that snake boss. But it makes you learn how to maximize everything and I beat the game in two weeks after that. Wu Kong is the best game I ever played. I am working on 2nd run like most of the committee have done.
I like a game that has no difficulty settings but more like a progression or development. Things get more and more difficult as the game progresses. If you slack off, you will never finish the game.
Wukong deserves GOTY. I have completed 4 cycles, even got Steam all achievements. 1st cycle is the best. The real challenge. I wish I can go back and enjoy that again from scratch. 2nd cycle is the easiest. 3rd cycle becomes a lot tough. I think the life of each enemy doubles. In 4th cycle, I recorded each fight with boss.
I do enjoy to see streamers play Wukong for the first time😂 To see the earthquake in their pupil😅 And then become mad at Astrobot for the sheer unfairness.

Download the bosses. Keep your pace. Focus on combos and dodges. Do not get greedy for attacks. And don't miss any item or hidden boss. The NG+ is even better. The boss rush mode of the newest update is super fun.
As a ginormous fan of journey to the west and this game I lowkey wasn’t expecting it to win goty anyways cuz performance issues and invis walls and slight bugs but I honestly don’t care cuz I’m just happy they brought back my child hood. They even brought a guy from the old tv show I watched to voice a character.
I did not feel surprise Astro bot won. Somehow it always if a family got in the competition they will won by default that the feeling I get when watch American funniest video growing up.
You're in for a journey, my guy. You will grow gray hairs by the time you're done with this game. But it will be worth it because you will learn and get stronger and wiser. 😂 By your second and third cycles, you will be more relaxed.
You should upgrade staff skill first. upgrade Qi to 3 first. only using 1 Qi to beat 3 bosses is too difficult. you can air attack in mid distance and the last hit will knock it down and then keep distance and repeat it for the white 1st phase
have some rest. u r tired now. when u come back the next day, u will suddenly have new inspiration which help u to find the weakness of the boss. that's the magic of the game.
45 :00 when I realized he was fighting big baby and wannabe human soon...he is def 1 trying Guanxi, he's got the skill to put down big baby, but big baby cheats and relys a lot on blast radius attacks to compensate for his terrible accuracy.

To not show the head piece, just go to Settings/Game to switch off show head piece.
Equipping headpiece gives you the complete perks of that set.

Wandering Wight was for sure in my top 5 Hardest Bosses in this game. Esspecially since he is the first Major Boss. Took me like 7-9 tries.

When I played it for the first time, there was a boss that cost me 12 hours to defeat, maybe because I was drinking beer and every time my senses went away hahaha, I just had to go to a party and I defeated him, I felt great, I told my sisters until I beat him I'm not going to the party, and I just beat him when we had to leave.

Took me 15 attempts on that snake boss. But it makes you learn how to maximize everything and I beat the game in two weeks after that. Wu Kong is the best game I ever played. I am working on 2nd run like most of the committee have done.

Wukong deserves GOTY. I have completed 4 cycles, even got Steam all achievements.
1st cycle is the best. The real challenge. I wish I can go back and enjoy that again from scratch.
2nd cycle is the easiest. 3rd cycle becomes a lot tough. I think the life of each enemy doubles.
In 4th cycle, I recorded each fight with boss.

Download the bosses. Keep your pace. Focus on combos and dodges. Do not get greedy for attacks. And don't miss any item or hidden boss. The NG+ is even better. The boss rush mode of the newest update is super fun.

You should upgrade staff skill first. upgrade Qi to 3 first. only using 1 Qi to beat 3 bosses is too difficult.
you can air attack in mid distance and the last hit will knock it down and then keep distance and repeat it for the white 1st phase
