Found you from your 3 hour wukong video. Watched the whole thing because it was great to see someone experience it for the first time and really appreciate it. I played wukong before Astrobot, and Astrobot I KNEW was gonna win because it was that good and I LOVED wukong. Glad I subbed. Great videos dude!

Hey man dont give up ull get him. White clad noble snake guy i was stuck on him for nearly 2 weeks. Dont forget to use your booster pills for extra damage, extra attack power etc. Ive now platinumed the game and currently on ng++. White clad nobile both phases i can now do in about 20 secs. Stick with it my man try to reserve all your health potions for 2nd phase plus your spells. Be patient and dont panic dodge. I also put all my sparks just into smash stance i didnt use any other stance till i started ng and even then i use the piller and thrust stances once in a while. Use the force.

I hope you continue and beat wukong because you only scratched the surface!

mate if you were already having fun, you gotta at least finish the first chapter. And even then, the first chapter is barely the tip of the iceberg. You havent yet seen what happens at the end of every chapter or met any of the cool characters yet. Hope you didn't abandon the game just yet

why'd you stop at AC 3, and not say Black flag, for me atleast that's the point it started to fall.

I’ve always been more of a casual gamer. Never one to select the hardest difficulty or try to platinum anything. When I jumped into Wukong I was nervous that I’d be bad and not get very far. And while I wasn’t very good to start off I’m in chapter 6 having done almost every side quest (minus the horse one which I missed sadly). The game made it fun to learn and in that I grew a desire to get better at it. Each boss is unique…which is crazy because there’s over 100 of them. I’m 70 hours in and will definitely be playing again.

I know wukong is still far away from a perfect game or completely masterpiece, but I believe that it is way better than astro bot, for being an entertainment

My take is that they made a souls like into a fun like, souls like games are something else, this one does a better job, I had no clue what this game was about, I only knew it came with my 4070 ti in August 2024, one week later game goes on and I try it and oh my lord... the only game I have ever went for 100% because I just wanted to keep playing it and get more out of it, 134 hours of pure fun, I have more time spent in other games like Cyberpunk, RDR2 / RDO (4700h) CS2, KCD yadayada or even some indie games, but man those 134 hours of Wukong in 3 weeks felt like heaven, finally a breath of fresh air in some old garage that we call gaming - it really broke games for me, not because at some points was a bit challenging, but the overall quality of the game, just amazing - on top of the fact it comes from a Studio that was making some mobile games? had one ghost pc game? ehh? sold a bunch? top quality? and they chose a freaking sack boy reskin for GOTY, ah well... players voice of Game Awards spoke loud, Steam awards even louder, and anyone who touched the game, like a blast. Not to spoil anything, but if your review now is based on the first 3 hours of the game... you haven't even scratched the surface to understand the real greatness of the game.

they did exceptional in graphics, story, cutscenes, difficulty, music and overall feeling you get while playing. the only negatives i had was the game wasn't optimized so some times you had a kinda lag trying to perfect dodge. other than that no other issues. it was one of the best games i've played in yrs and i enjoyed so much that i went through whole game a 2nd time to do everything and then started a 3rd play through. i can't say that about any other game recently

Unfortunately as soon as i watched the first boss fight i was extremely unimpressed and lost interest in the game all together If you are also a combat enthusiast, seeing that Sekiro was already more polished than games like this set the stage for Huge dissapointment If you take a closer look at Sekiro - Right down to the enemies flinching and feinting and blocking/adjusting their movesets - last second just to counter or match yours Little detailed qualities like this seem to be overlooked by almost all gamers However, watching an unpolished game like Wukong where you land an entire 12 hit combo on a boss while he just stands there tanking the whole thing like a plastic training dummy is extremely lazy and semi off putting considering Sekiro already did it better over 5 years ago Thats was just ONE Reason and this comment is already too long

True Goty, everyone saying something different has some sort of brain damage and is disconnected from reality. China absolutely destroyed the whole industry with this game. The west isn't competitive anymore and Korea is also doing quite good with Stellar Blade. I think the issue with other AAA games that Wukong didnt have is the pressure from Management, Publishers, Shareholders etc to crank out stuff and monetize as much as possible and hit deadlines and earnings calls and focus groups and what not which just makes it hard for devs to just make the games they wanna make, but leads to compromise. Of course its possible - form soft also shows it, but to look to huge studios like Ubisoft to deliver innovation and heart is maybe just asked too much.. just the nature of the beast. Especially at the frequency they (have to?) publish..

As a fellow chinese, this game gave me all that nostalgic vibes of going home after school and watch the TV adaptation of JTTW. Wukong was like our Superman or The Last Airbender. Chinese opinions might be biased but you cannot argue that the game is a work of art full of blood and sweat from our developers. The maps are built by them scanning ACTUAL places all around china as there are no templates in UE5 for them to use. Loads of JTTW reference that sadly a lot of western players will miss out on. I personally rarely get past 10 hours playtime for a AAA game. I just could not get through it because the game is throwing too many things at you, a lot of immersion breaking bug/ performance issues, most importantly character controls feel so clunky and I am always unsatisfied with the combat system. I liked God of War 2018 and Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order a lot but it didn't make me want to do NG+ at all. I was super hyped for the PC port of Ragnarok but I am sad that I played it right after Wukong, it was still one of the best game ever but Wukong just set the bar too high up for me. Now I am just in NG++++ playing the new challenge mode and continue to get better at the combat which is the best aspect of the game for me.

When's your next live bro? Love your stream, so much fun to watch. The music, the reactions, the hilarious set-up is gold. Even the game has been released over 4 months but it still feels new when I watch you play.

What's interesting to us as players is that we can immediately sense whether the devs love the games themselves. Black Myth Wukong definitely fits this category. The attention to details in its gameplay is so palpable here.

games like black myth wukong are evidence that AAA arent dead. but the only ones worth playing are certainly few and far between. PSA shadow of the erdtree was cheaper than a character skin in call of duty. 100hrs of gameplay lol

Compare to the 80s and the 90s. Surely we haven't have a new genre for a really long time. You can argue battle royal is kind of a new genre but to me its just a bunch of other genre merge into one instead of a brand new idea.

U nailed it. I wholeheartedly agree. So many AAA games I try to check out and it's cutscene after cutscene, tutorial, cutscene, cutscene like bro let me play!! Every fucking 10 ft another cutscene. If i wanna watch a movie I'll put on Netflix. But i just want to share on top of everything u just said, Game Science absolutely smashed it out the park when it comes to the lore in the game. For anyone familiar with the Journey to the West novel or tv show or movies, it felt like a love letter to us. From the opening scene, just the mention of "that pig" we all knew who he was referring to and it brings a smile to ones face. Each chapter the story gets deeper and deeper and by the end you're just both in awe and wrecked emotionally at the same time. For those who grew up watching the show the game makes you feel like you're in the show. The feeling of immersion is just so real. And I know most of the Western audience won't know and maybe don't care, which is sad but not their fault. However I've also witnessed many streamers who were clueless about JttW in the beginning of the game and by the end they're fully invested in the whole thing. And it's that, the care and love that Game Science took, the way they fully did it justice, that way they made you care, which is why many deeply feel it was GOTY, on top of the excellent technical execution and all the points u brought up. It's all of it. The whole package. I really don't understand why some ppl hate it so much or how they can think it's avg. Did these same ppl think GoW was avg in 2018?? Coz BM:W is doing for Chinese mythology what GoW did for Greek/Norse. Haters gonna hate. Is dark soul games the first in 3rd person RPG? I don’t think so bro. I don’t know how old are you, I was playing “Onimusha: Warlords” on PS2 back in 2001. Check it out, if don’t know this game, I’d say the entire dark souls series is base on this game.

I played Astro Bot and it has very good reason for being game of the year. So then I bought black myth after thinking it couldn't be better. 100% beat that game... I am actually blown away because it makes absolutely no sense how that game didn't win. It checked every single block on what makes a good game.

What’s different from souls games is that: your character is much more agile and will have many more skills that can be used to cheese the boss (in later chapters). Also, if you progress further in the game, you will be amazed by the art and the graphics.

The story was awesome. I bought it day 1 and took my sweet time until I beat it 60-70 hours later. Since I've played POE2 but only sank 32 hours into it but it's getting kind of boring to me because it's just Diablo with some stuff added. Story is boring to me.
