AUDI TT MK1 oil pick up pipe replacement (strainer) and oil and filter change (episode 3)

welcome to my channel if your new here remember to like and subscribe👍in this episode we will be replacing the oil pick up pipe (oil strainer)along with changing the oil and filter, this is something I wanted to do before I start driving this car as these can get blocked and result in starving the top end of oil. And I also manged to get hold of a coolant cover for the engine bay as the car didn't come with one.
1x oil sump plug 19mm spanner or socket needed - torque too 30nm
20x sump bolts 10mm socket or 5mm hex needed - torque too 15nm tighten inside out diagonally
2x turbo oil return bolts 5mm hex needed - torque too 15nm
3x sump to gearbox bolts 16mm spanner or socket needed - torque too 45nm
2x pick up pipe bolts 10mm socket or spanner needed - torque too 15nm
parts needed oil pick up pipe plus seal
sealant
sump plug
turbo return gasket

@@CarChris82 what was pick up like when you took it off🤔 mine was very clean .. some are really bad and no wonder there top ends are starved of oil 🙄👍

Have to see how it goes i want it in pretty good condition before using it properly and spending on mods
Cool ! Did it a month ago ( entire oil pump and strainer ) + a sandwitch plate on the filter for a oil pressure gauge ;)
Lucky you, you apparently did’nt had some troubles with the damn two hidden bolds of the sump, like Me 😤. A pain in the ass to fit !
But all fine at the end.
Good to see a 225 quattro owner with exactly the same stuffs ( BAM code for the mine 2001 )

@@CarChris82 The acces to align them to the hole. Numerous time they falled down on my nose 😅
Anyway, With patience, it has been succesful
@@renedewael9703 a little trick for things like this is to put a bit of grease in the socket for the bolt to stick too while you get it in place

👍 it had a bit in it but there was a few bits in the strainer always worth doing with these cars

They sell gaskets for the pan so...is a gasket better or just the liquid seal?

Pick up pipe looked like it might of already been done it was pretty clean
it wasn't too bad but I only just got the car and wanted to change it for peace of mind as no record of it being done
You can just clean the pick up pipe yours could of been cleaned easily really. But yea you know it's done and all good
I got quoted almost 400£ from audi to do oil chance, oil filter and change this pickup pipe, to expensive or resonable?
Its can be done with simple hand tools.but you wouldn't want to pay more than £200 for this job to be done
