Best camaro channel ever!! You are so knowledgeable, well informed and ready and willing to go test out anything and everything to get the real data to share out to the public!! It's great! Killer vids! Thanks and keep them coming! That way when I sit at the car guys table in the break room it looks like I know what I am talking about ; )
@ 7:33 in the video you mention the "technology in the x pipe." It is a resonated x pipe with fins that help with exhaust scavenging and tune out drone. The technology is very similar to that of a stand alone resonator or glasspack. It works well to keep the exhaust aggressive sounding without too much interior drone.
The pinch point in the piping may be in place to keep excess heat away from the IRS allowing it to stay cool and function properly. With this new SW system in place, a heat shield may be needed to be placed around the IRS to help protect from exhaust heat.
Stainless works goes for a "pro street" sound. I just signed up my shop as a dealer of Stainless Works Exhaust since there wasn't any shop in our area selling their exhaust. I'm ordering the same setup for my 2016 2SS as well. Nice video!
+Real Deal Thanks! Yeah, I really liked the tone of their axle back, but now with their LT headers. I can't wait to see how the car sounds with full catback.
great video! I can't wait to see the results on this. I think highly of GM's NPP set up. I'm also looking for ways to make the car louder so I'm hoping you found it.
Just my opinion. I was convinced when I saw your video sound comparison and when I saw how great the quality looked in the unboxing I decided to order it, but after hearing it person I was kind of disappointed but hopefully after adding headers all that changes
Keep up with the testings bro ! You should also test in a future the diablosport tune when they release a tune for the 16 SS And try it in the dyno to see if it puts real HP !
So you had to use the ODB sensor to disable AFM completely PLUS this? Or would just getting this setup work alone? It thinks it's working and shows it's working on the dash, but the valves are not functioning? What about inside the engine and the cylinders? Would that be the reason why you need the ODB sensor? I googled the sensor but couldn't find any results (possibly misspelled coltrag?). I know this video is old and I thought you recently did some sort of AFM delete with your recent updates? I want to throw a fit at my local dealership about how much I hate AFM and how I should be able to choose if I want t save fuel or not. When they tell me to go fuck myself I want to bring up this option. Like "LOOK AT WHAT YOU MADE ME DO!". I shouldn't be trying to look for ways to delete this. It should just be a simple button that you can turn it on and off if you want it. Like an Eco button that many cars have.
Do you know if you hadn’t tuned the car to not drop to 4 cylinders if you would get a check engine light because the car is not getting feedback from the valves opening and closing when dropping to 4 cylinders?
Yo Lethal, I know this video is old ass hell lol but what if a get a system that doesn’t have the dummy afm valve brackets? Could I just keep the wiring hooked up to the actuators and took them in somewhere? Would that please the car?
So I just did this to my 2016 V6 RS, I had the valves cut out and zip tied the actuators up on the fuel tank. An hour of driving later I got an engine light. Any update on yours? If there was a problem with that? Honestly doesn’t make sense. It must read position or resistance on the valve position??
Ordered a catback for my 16 ss with afm and npp valves , it's the worst 1,800 I have ever spent ..my original exhaust with sec cat deletes sounded almost identical. If I would of known I'd just spent it on some arh headers instead.
I got the 2017 fifty edition convertible ss, looking to get this set up with the roto fab intake, should it still be legal and pass smog (Bay Area, California)? Plus what power increase should I expect? I understand I will need it to get a tune to get the full potential, still looking for a local shop for tuning and future work.
Great videos, love watching them. Saw you mentioned you have a gizmo to turn off AFM, cant find a video of that, so can you let me know where I can get one, link? Thanks
just out of curiosity why didn't you go with a borla s-type or atak cat back? does the stainless works offer something that they dont? does it void gm warranty?
+DRP Gaming You void your exhaust warranty... that's about it. Just not a fan of the tone Borla has currently, not sure how to pin point it, but their 5th gen was amazing, the 6th gen LT1 just sounds muffled in their offerings.
Im thinking of doing this same setup, but i have a manual transmission. Do i need the setup with AFM? Or do i get the one without the AFM? Please let me know!
Would you still get a check engine light with not having the AFM sensors functional just mounted on side of exhaust and without your tuner to turn off AFM completely?
LethalGarage I have connected them and mounted them but still getting a code. Do they need to actually be connected to those mechanical valves and welded into my aftermarket exhaust?
Thanks for the video. I just ordered a system from SW. I will also be ordering the OBD programmer. Is there a way you can tell me what model OBD sensor you bought PLZ? Keep the videos coming, because of them, I am able to do all the work myself. Hopefully, when I am in Calif, I can finally meet you. Mark "Black Widow"
+Randy Tyler Most manufactures of exhausts avoid claiming gains. It's a legal thing they just like to avoid. As testing in California vs. Colorado vs. Ohio vs. New York will yield different results.
Nice video. Can anyone help me find a list or catalog or website that has 5th gen exhaust, intakes, etc that won't kill my warranty? Like SLP or something GM approved.
i made the mistake of buying the one you have and now im trying to sell the stai less works quad tips and buy the kooks quad tips that don't need the npp valve is that a good plan or am I making another mistake?
My car is manual and I was wondering about the afm valve.im planning on buying this same exhaust.would they just not hook up anything to the afm adapters?
+Lethalhammer yeah just recently was recommended your channel... But thanks. Also i do like the videos by the way. They seem raw but well thought out and i learned a lot from your car washing videos
Jackhammer 69 here, begging you to stop calling yourself sledgehammer 70! Name your car lethal camaro=epic! Trying to give yourself a nickname sledgehammer 70=dumb! By the way, bend your bill!

+SS GAINZ Ha! Thanks. I am by no means as knowledgeable as I would like to be, but working on it. Thanks for supporting the channel.
Agreed

Is that a darksiders sword in the back ground? ... this video was great bro
Todd the sales manager at Stainless Works told me that the the x pipes are resonated. So that is probably why there is something inside of it.
+Courtland Summers Yup. You can get an xpipe without it.
Ok cool. I wonder how that would change the sound though.

Hope they make one for the v6 with the dual mode haven't found any whatsoever .
Are you telling us that the new '16 camaros have tri-y headers from the factory? Can't wait to see the dyno
+msclecarcrzy they do. Basically a set of shorties
Good video, as always, looking forward to your dyno results and audio clips for the new exhaust.
Looking forward for the exhaust tests

Do my 2019 Camaro 2SS a10 have the afm valve I don’t have the npp option I’m buying the borla xpipe
Do you know if you hadn’t tuned the car to not drop to 4 cylinders if you would get a check engine light because the car is not getting feedback from the valves opening and closing when dropping to 4 cylinders?

tracerx13 I have no clue man, I have yet to get my mid pipes
tracerx13 make sure they didn’t unhook your stabilitrak harness near the mufflers That’ll throw hella codes
Great video! The outtakes where pretty good ;) I hope the sound from the exhaust is awesome.
I can't wait to see the new test video
what is the name of the obd.. i couldnt hear you correctly in you video starting at 5:00
Ordered a catback for my 16 ss with afm and npp valves , it's the worst 1,800 I have ever spent ..my original exhaust with sec cat deletes sounded almost identical. If I would of known I'd just spent it on some arh headers instead.
Whattttt????? Cat-back setup sounds nothing like the stock setup.

Is the axle back system 2 3/4 or 3 "?
i get engine light same exhaust and i have went to get it checked hate this.
So do u think that I would get check engine light if I get the X-pipe without Valve ? like AFM deleted like u said.
Yes
Awesome video as usual I wish u had a v6 man but I still look at all ur videos cuz ur just awesome...
Awesome video. Thanks for the details.
Great videos, love watching them. Saw you mentioned you have a gizmo to turn off AFM, cant find a video of that, so can you let me know where I can get one, link? Thanks
+quick99ws6 video incoming.
Ditto, 2017 2SS auto, looking for AFM delete

+NorthBay40 no, you don't need afm
Would you still get a check engine light with not having the AFM sensors functional just mounted on side of exhaust and without your tuner to turn off AFM completely?
If mounted on the side you shouldn’t get a code.
LethalGarage I have connected them and mounted them but still getting a code. Do they need to actually be connected to those mechanical valves and welded into my aftermarket exhaust?
Are you sure the code is for the AFM or the cats?
LethalGarage still have both stock cats
Brandon Ward if you have this system your secondary cats are removed
Thanks for the video. I just ordered a system from SW. I will also be ordering the OBD programmer. Is there a way you can tell me what model OBD sensor you bought PLZ? Ditto
Model of OBD
great video lethal keep em coming!
Will do.
Can you check the weight difference between this and the stock system?
Will see what I can do.
+Randy Tyler Most manufactures of exhausts avoid claiming gains. It's a legal thing they just like to avoid. As testing in California vs. Colorado vs. Ohio vs. New York will yield different results.
Sounds like a dope ride.
Gm pinched it for Clearance and drag
Cant wait to hear it!! Hammer on!!
I see what you did there.
Sweet exhaust. What's the top speed you've gone in your Jaguar?
In my what?
I was kidding. You have a bicycle that's branded "jaguar" in the background. See 12:43
lol that is my wife's bike :)
Nice video. Can anyone help me find a list or catalog or website that has 5th gen exhaust, intakes, etc that won't kill my warranty? Like SLP or something GM approved.
Guys at Phastek Performance may be able to help out.
i have a camaro 2ss auto with no npp how can i get the quad tips from stai less to work for me? can they work for me?
If you don't have NPP you can't get it.
You could buy a rear fascia for quad tips and buy a new exhaust or add quad exhaust tips.
i made the mistake of buying the one you have and now im trying to sell the stai less works quad tips and buy the kooks quad tips that don't need the npp valve is that a good plan or am I making another mistake?
Nice video man
My car is manual and I was wondering about the afm valve.im planning on buying this same exhaust.would they just not hook up anything to the afm adapters?
+Danny favian Manuals do not have afm.
+Lethalhammer thanks lethal . So would I have to buy a different exhaust or would that one work on my car?
You would get the one without AFM :) Saves you money.6
+Lethalhammer do you know if they sale it on phastek?
+Lethalhammer never mind the last comment I found it . Thanks lethal.
Is this still ca emissions legal?
+Harjap Sandhu they are not carb certified
The price of it? People never talk about pricing
Sorry if you did.
Maybe due a video of how much you paid for the car and since then has spent on the car.... And then do a future mod video or future plans
I didn't touch on pricing as it vary's based on the system you buy for your car. You can see all the options here: bit.ly/1rt2sk2
You must not have seen any of my other videos :) I do a Mod update video monthly :)
+Lethalhammer yeah just recently was recommended your channel... But thanks.
Also i do like the videos by the way. They seem raw but well thought out and i learned a lot from your car washing videos
Nice. May I asked who referred you? Always interested in how people found my channel.
Can you just get the SW mufflers with the valves on it and get it welded to stock NPP?
+Josh Costanza I think so. It's the axle back setup
I got to have those
+lethalgarage
Will this fit the 2017 ZL1
I think it will
nice work keep going 🖒
