- The 7.03 update is mostly bug fixes but there are also some interesting and useful changes to take note of for video support, track reordering/folder creation, and with lanes and comping.

When they made the folder switch I was like “nooooo my workflow!” but in the time it’s taken for them to ‘patch’ it, I’ve already gotten used to the new drag-left action lmao.I appreciate the dedication to customization, it’s just funny how stubborn we/engineers can be

Nice video. But, how to show the volume/dymanic options on each track? I don't find the button like previous versions.

?????Does anyone know why reaper 7.03 Monitor fx doesn't work when input is set to loopback 1/2. I get signal to record, just no fx. only with loopback, with audio input no issue. I use a motu m4. Would appreciate a little guidance. Couldn't find answers any where.????

I just wanna know how to hide the whole comping vertical bar (if I can call it that) after I'm done comping. It takes up so much screen space...
when finished you can set the track to Fixed Item lanes = OFF

Is there a SIMPLE Drum Sample/Replacement feature yet..? 🥱
There are several ways I know of depending on how you like to do it and what your recorded material is like.
1. A full kit on stereo is probably the hardest, but pre-filtering out the parts to replace with eq and using dynamic split then audio to midi to trigger whatever you have works well on snares and kicks.
2. A full kit on separate tracks is super workable with the JS audio to midi from Stillwell (I think that's the name).
3. Using the Media Explorer to replace selected hits and Dynamic Split can work well too if you have separated parts although I don't like flat out replacement if there is cymbal info that's needed from the bleed.
4. There is also a way to use Dynamic Split in a chromatic fashion that I haven't used, but seems like it would work well.

Also 2 free plugins are Trigger 2 from Slate which is limited and then from Soifer Sound there is SampleSwap.

@@TheREAPERBlog don't know how to customise the menu so, no. I found the action and put it on the toolbar, so at least I can do it that way
customizing the menu is the same window as customizing toolbars. @@nectariosm

Here is a real sleazy move:

Memory leaks galore. I've been using reaper for a long time now and this is definitely opening up the jump to alternatives.
There's no reason why reaper should go from using a reasonable amount of ram for a project file to using near 30gigs of ram on the same project with just an update to the latter 6.x versions. Literally nothing changed but an update. It was for these reasons I turned off auto-update and I shouldn't have even considered updating.
You should definitely report that bug, I haven't noticed anything like that discussed.
In the meantime you can easily run any previous version www.reaper.fm/download-old.php?ver=6x
