Bronco 2 gets a Hidden Holley Sniper EFI Screen and How to easily restore a tired gauge cluster

  • The last few videos have been focused on getting the Bronco II running and driving well. Now its time we turn attention to the nasty interior. Plagued with water leaks and years of crud, once the carpet started sprouting mushrooms it was time to get serious.
The interior was previously removed, cleaned and painted. Now the fun really begins as it starts coming back together.
This video we reinstall some key dash components and show how easy it is to disassemble and clean up a dirty faded old gauge cluster. A little paint goes a long ways. Lastly we re-install our original over head map light that was modified to stealthily hold our Holley Sniper EFI tuner's touchscreen.
A lot of hard work is paying off, as we are making big steps towards getting this Bronco back on the road and getting the attention it deserves.

This is Craig from Lees Summit Mo, USAF(R), retired (Whiteman AFB). I know you’re pretty busy with the Air Force, I’ve been there done that, but I hope your channel keeps gaining subs!!
As a retiree, lifelong ford guy, as well as a ford tech for the last 16 years, I really enjoy your no nonsense, down to earth approach in your videos. Hope to see more content from you!

Those Molotow chrome paint pens are amazing. Head and shoulders above any similar product I've run across. For gauge needles, a neon orange sharpie marker works great. No drips, and has a fluorescent tint.

Man I ABSOLUTELY LOVE how much attention to detail you give your vehicles. You give me so many ideas about what I'm doing to my 93 Ranger I am working on. I appreciate it. You remind me of a buddy of mine. He could take a turd and polish it. I swear to you. You can eat off his garage floor I kid you not. Every vehicle he has owned is immaculate!!! He doesn't get them that way but when he trades them they are PERFECT!! You remind me of him. Great job on this Bronco II and you did an awesome job on the Ranger. Only thing I wasn't a fan of was the Mustang rims. I would've liked to have seen either you restore the originals and gotten new center caps or gotten 89-92 rims for it. My preference which I know is different than yours. To each his own. Still was a great job though. Get some more Rangers man. Find a 93-97 and restore that.

Hello. I think it is great that you are restoring the Bronco. If you are going to shoot the paint yourself on the bronco I suggest that you use a urethane base coat clear coat finish, it is the most forgiving finish when you aren't using a good downdraft booth as it is easier to remove dirt or runs in the clear coat than if you go with a single-stage finish like acrylic enamel. And if you have access to a fresh air respirator system i would recommend that you use one as when you don't have a downdraft booth with a large exhaust fan to remove the overspray and fumes a charcoal mask does not afford you much protection from the fumes, and urethane paint, as well as any catalyzed paint, contain isocyanates, which is very detrimental to your respiratory system. I worked in a restoration shop as well as some dealerships over the years, as well as being an assistant autobody instructor at the penitentiary in our town and I am retired now, but please protect yourself, painting can be very hard on your body, so be very careful. Oh, I loved the car your father built that is in JR's shop, it is a work of art!

The overhead is placement is absolutely perfect.
Check the MSDS on that glue though, roofs get crazy hot in the summer so high temp industrial hot glue is the only stuff that doesn't become a nightmare mess in the hot summer. Softening temperature would need to be around 300f for you not to have an issue with it, it's not uncommon for that area to be over 200f. The MSDS sheet should have the softening, and melting point, not always using those terms. Permatex black adhesive would be absolutely perfect for that case, just don't do like I have done and not pay attention to getting the non adhesive lol.

There's two layers of metal there and can't really see it from inside, had to see it from outside. Filled the leak with Dynatron #550 seam sealer from Autozone. Worked great. There was another rust thru leak over driver's door gutter. Took care of that same stuff same way.
