"Why can't they just win a NORMAL GAME?!!!"
Austin, They're allergic. :D
One word. Sickness. We’ll be ok
I'd be willing to bet there's guys who are playing sick too.. Just moving like molasses in february..
agreed
Or Skinner just had a bad game.
Though I still don't like the inconsistency in my opinion.
Last year, even the games after their win streak got snapped, every single time they got a pp I just had so much confidence that they were gonna score and now I’m worried that the other team is gonna get a shorty
But the team was much worse 5 on 5 and you would rather be better 5 on 5 than on the power play. What's concerning is the PK this last few games. However, we will fix the PK.
MEGA Austin & Oilers W
You’re right about this team and finding ways to make games stressful, and I totally see where you’re coming from with your comments about the team struggling to maintain leads. On the other hand, I think that the level of competitiveness of each game continues the trend of mid-basement teams really showing up against the Oilers and the rising skill floor within the league. I don’t want to make too many excuses for the team, but it was a back to back situation where they probably landed pretty early in the morning while many players are still recovering from
Illnesses. And, of the top players in the Pacific, the Oilers have managed to score wins where Vegas and LA are struggling. Good teams find ways to win games.
What a game your right we should have won it in regulation love the oilers and glad we got the win
power rankings video would be super hype
We need to keep skinner on the line am glad he is scoring he is showing he can score when given the opportunity
I’m so glad we won this game if it’s not because of the two goal lead we have in the 3rd, but we seriously NEED AN UPGRADE TO OUR SPECIAL TEAMS IMO 😭 Colorado should be a big time test before we head into 4 nations, a big time W would be so nice 🥹
I LOVE YOU JEFF SKINNER
noooooo you remembered the victory change also this game pissed me off it was so frustrating 😔
I knew exactly what you'd say here when we got to ot and won afterwards 😂😂
Nice Chain!
Passing game was off all night even though the OT was strong !!
Good to see you’ve got the victory chain tonight 😂
Hiya Austin!! I reckon because there's so much lines shuffling doesn't allow to score early, maintain the lead and win "easily". Or maybe it's a lack either mentally or physically that the coaching staff can't seem to repair. The PK will bounce back for sure once the unit gets the correct hierarchy and every team member on that unit is consolidated as the team specialist. Anyhow...the boys won, J. Skinner had a wonderful game in the top 6...i wish we have the "why can't we win easily some games" type of problems after every game till June. Let's go Oilers 🛢️🧡
I am with you Austin, can we just win one 4-1 or 5-2 or something! so lame when you get them saves at the start, but still fail to capitalize on your chances. Man, WTH is going man!
I don't care that much, a win is a win! If you're the only team with McDrai, the best duo in the NHL in almost 30 years, you're never out of the game. Go Drai for Hart!
Pickard is better than Skinner!!
Definitely, won 9 in the last 10, more consistent
They need this break coming up
I think our guys are pacing themselves, they don’t play as hard against lower teams which has been evident this season. I think they are prioritizing having gas left in the tank for when it matters. But yeah it can be frustrating
We will be better after 4 nations, we just have some kinks to work out!
david needed to be way better this game if we have a locked in davo tonight its like a 5-3 win or even more he was just not playing as his usual self
I can appreciate your apprehension. The Oilers seem to be 'stumbling' their way to victory. Can you win the Stanley Cup that way? If yes, then anything goes. If no, then we're in trouble come playoff time.
Also that was a bad penalty call on Podz
Looks like the oilers still have that "Lead blowing Give their fans a heart attack mentality" lets hope it breaks come the playoffs.
i’d prefer mediocre season barley scraping by and having a deep playoff run, i get frustrated too watching this team but then i remember the decade of darkness
Do we need to have a serious talk about pickard? (Jk,he's a fine backup, and though i do think he should get more games here and there, im getting tired of people putting him upon a pedestal like he should be our playoff goalie ahead of skinner)

Still can't watch or listen to games while I wait for surgery. I actually have to take tonight off and am doing this the next day.
Sometimes it's good to be lucky. With 5 seconds to play in the third that thought came to me (and probably Picard). PP going 1 for 4 sucked (though the one was in OT) and PK epic failing to prevent the one and only one opportunity Chicago got. Jeff Skinner has been playing better and adding a defensive dimension to his game. He finally got to play on the 2nd line with Leon and got a goal and an assist with him. Leon also got a goal and an assist (and 2nd star). At one point the Oilers led 3-1. Then Chicago tied it up and nearly won in the dying seconds of the third. In OT the Oilers get a power play and it takes 18 seconds to end it. The game was borderline boring until the 3rd period.
Take care all
I think the oilers are unmotivated. we see them last year constantly chasing something, whether it be the awful start to the season, or down 3-0 to Florida, last season they really had that external motivation. this year, they have not had that nearly as much, maybe could explain this style of game. but the team feels as if the consistent and "relaxed" wins don't matter. just a theory
I have always gone by that if players coming from the east ---->west u need to work, but if u go west ---> east is a bit more relaxed.. The west is harder then the east
Ugly win but a win is a win. 🙏
You really do need to relax.
And I say that because I care. 😊
🧡💙
I agree with you....the Oilers could do better... the PK and PP and general chance conversion is way too mediocre..I think CMD is not at the top of his game atm..the Oilers appear at times tired or sloppy...If they play like that in the Play Offs...oh boy... you will suffer multiple heart attacks
Knob treating Pickard as if he was a backup that can't be trusted is really aggravating. Him and Dria were just excellent. I'm not a Stu hater, so don't even go there. Ya I get oilers were tired, but they played like they don't really care if they stick Pickard with the loss like they did last time he played Vs Hawks. Nice deflection Kapanen, try that on the opponent goalie though next time. Without Pickard, this game is 6-3 Hawks. Prove me wrong! lol
