Don Really needs to watch OG Dragon Ball because Tien does so much in OG Dragon Ball same with Krillin because he underestimated both and they both got at least one person or more out and they deserve to be in this tournament because they might not have as much power as all the others but above Roshi with Power but they both have a lot of experience and experience beats power anytime.

The duplication technique is a technique that Tien created. Piccolo Gohan krillin are all able to use the duplication technique. Also Goku can do it as well but it divides your energy between however many copies of yourself you create so it helps when fighting weak opponents with numbers but against a stronger opponents it leaves you more vulnerable that's why Goku never uses the technique.
I never understood why goku and them didn't use this technique more often not even for fight but for training, there's no better training partner than yourself and not only that, you could do 199 copies and have 100 different 1 v 1s, and then 50 1v1s with the winners over and over and gain so much experience so fast
They don't need to do the duplication technique in training because the mental image training it's basically the same technique just not physical. When they train mentally they can use their understanding of ki to create a opponent and fight against to make themselves stronger also it does less damage to their bodies as it would if they were using the duplication technique what does damage to their bodies and energy output.

Sorry, rant time: Even if Super did Tien dirty, the hate on him and Krillin is getting very tiring. Also complaining about ssj 3 and god is just as tiring. Because ever since the top arc started, it feels like that's mostly what you talk about.
Like many others said, Tien and Krillin were actually good in og and Z which is why Goku chose them in the first place. They were able to take down some of the other fighters, that's already impressive on it's own. And Tien was able to get taken out with another fighter which I would rather do than just myself. And just let the characters complement each other instead of just telling them they're wrong and putting them down.
Also 3 is hard to use when you are alive, which is why he unlocked in the first place when he was dead. He did have a hard time using it when he was alive for 24 hours. And when he was charging against Kid Buu, he was losing energy instead of gaining it like normal. Gotenks had an easier time using it because he's a fusion. God is more about speed and being calm and in control, Goku and Vegeta are no where close to being that type of fighter. They use Blue because of the amount of power and power control they can have while still being themselves. Which is also why (I think) it took so long for Goku to unlock UI. (and before comments say anything about spoilers, he already watched the UI fight against Jiren like a year ago)
And don't get me wrong, my favorite transformations are ssj 4, legendary, god and Rose. So I'm definitely not hating on god, I just think it really doesn't match Goku.
And I definitely don't think Krillin and Tien are as strong as the others but imo they are better choices than Goten and Trunks. Even though they both lost by dropping their guards, Goten and Trunks barely have any actual battle experience and they are very young as well.
Also I get that ChiChi is holding back Goten's potential by not letting him train but I think she is trying to do good for Goten. What if he changes his mind as he grows older and loses interest in fighting like Gohan who never liked fighting in the first place. At least he will be smart enough to continue school instead if he prefers. And for all those who are disappointed in Gohan for losing his potential, at least he is fucking happy. He has always hated fighting, he only fought to protect. As he grew older and older he realized that he didn't need to anymore because of everyone else who are just as capable.
Sorry, this was just meant to clear some possible misunderstanding and turned into another rant.

Don't think Tien let his guard down. In that moment when one of the clones took the hit for him, I think THAT was Tien setting the trap. He knew there might well be a last ditch effort by the sniper to try and get him out so the clone was used to divert. Then still divided by 4, Tien did what he could and took them down with him. HOnestly he fought with intellect. More so than I think a lot of people really would be able to in that situation. And Tien also wouldn't have been much use later on in the tournament anyway. So he took that opportunity to bow out. Even Beerus commended him. And it's not out of disrespect that he didn't call Tien by his name, but rather he hasn't seen enough of the man to acknowledge his name. He can barely even call Krillin by his name and refers to Gohan as "Goku's Son"

I know it’s a little morbid, but I wish Roshi’s death had more impact. It broke my heart but was resolved and fixed like three minutes later. It felt like when they “kill” bumblebee in transformers for a cheap emotional impact only to bring him back. I get that it happens all the time in Dragon Ball, but never this fast. Other deaths still had an impact even if they came back later.
