That is a pretty serious endorsement. I have been waiting for years for this scope for my M1A.
I love all my Primary Arms Optics. Robski from the AKOU 4774 got me started with PA. "Goat Rescue Team" Veteran. This will be my 3rd PA scope. I do not own more than one of any other scope.

I have the same scope but with the ACSS EOS 308 reticle. Everything is great. But the weak points are:
    - Cheap glass... distorted at edges & unforgiving eye box at high magnification
    - Mushy turrets, no zero stop
    - My vertical turret tracks at .095 mil per click (5% low)
But other than these relatively minor shortcomings that are somewhat expected for such a dirt cheap optic... it really is quite good on a budget... the bdc reticle is sweet and the turrets track well enough to be totally functional. I giggle every time I take my Tikka 308 CTR out and I'm ringing steel all the way out to 800m (875yd) with relative ease using a $475 CDN el cheapo scope!

Thank the Gods of firearms for Dimitri and Primary Arms!
Finally! A scope manufacturer has figured out that the reticle is just as important as the overall optical image quality and durability, and theyve done it at very reasonable prices!
The PA ACSS and other reticles are like driving a well equipped high end sports car with a fully featured dash with a speedometer, tachometer, coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level and all the other guages providing pertinent info.
While most scopes give us only a speedo, tach and maybe a fuel level.
And PA has found a way of delivering all that info without overwhelming us or feeling unnecessarily cluttered imo.
Notice how others are now getting it?
Everyones scrambling to create their own full featured dashboards but PA is pulling em down right now!
Thank you Dimitri and Primary Arms!

I have a Savage 10 also and pairing it up with a Primary Arms scope is a winning combo. I don't really have a good excuse to replace the scope I've got on mine right now but when I do it will most likely be one of these- the reticle has unbelieveable capabilities to keep things simple and help average marksmen to be extremely effective inside 800.

  • @justa3v619

These scopes are awesome. I have primary arms optics on almost all my rifles. 2.5x and 1x prism 1-6x sfp in 223 and 7.62x39 and a 4-14x acss Orion ffp. I love everyone of them. I have recently found a 600yd range I can tell you they work with the 7.62x39 ks47 I’ve only went out to 300yds but the 223 1-6x and 4-14x Orion on my 6.5 Grendel get down out to 600yds. Follow the directions on zeroing your caliber then fine tune it at 300yds with the 300yd stadia and you will be hitting 6inch and possibly smaller targets out to 600yds just using the reticle. This is coming from a guy who had never taken a shot over 350yds until a couple months ago. I was on the 600yd steel 12x24’ with my 4th shot my very first try. Woulda been quicker but we literally had 25-30mph wind gust that day. Can’t wait to get this scope for my 243win. Just gotta save up a few more pennies

Great scope, have one for my ar 308. have shot groups in same jagged hole at 100. not just the scope doing that but certainly the right tool to help. reticle is outstanding, holdovers + windage spot on, clear glass, 99.9% tracking if needed. would recommend to everyone. haven't broke the covers yet, guess they need to be on the scope for that to happen. great value for a scope that'll put you at a 1000 without doping your shots. cons: to see the 1000yrd mark/windage you can't go over 16 power. mines the 308 ver, not sure if that's the same with others.

"i am become death, the destroyer of scope caps"- lol
yeah ive got 9 notches in my PA 1-8x ACSS scope tube alone, 1 for each scope cap ive busted.
4 of which were the stock PA ones that came with it which i love. theyre light and compact and fold flat. but theyre made of very brittle material unfortunately.
i have found a couple of good caps though.
i have a Monstrum rear scope cap on my PA 1-8x ACSS SFP model. it was $12 on Amazon i think.
its been very good. ive had it almost 20 months now. im not sure if they make one to fit the front though.
im currently using a Butler Creek. nothing special there. it does seem theyre now making them from a softer, more flexible plastic that flexes instead of breaking. mine has lived over 14 months so far.
for my PA 4-14x ACSS R-grid FFP scope, i splurged and went for the best plastic caps ive found so far in the Vortex defender caps. theyre kinda bulky but very tough and durable and they fold completely flat.
if you want caps that will absolutely take just about any abuse, the defenders will handle it without sweat.ive had mine about 2 yrs now.
theyre about $40 per set but worth every penny.
they didnt have them to fit my PA 1-8x at the time i bought them but may now.
if you want a step above in quality and durability the aluminum caps with magnetic closure from Tennebrex are excellent. theyre expensive at about $100 or more per set but theyre very small, compact and light and can definetely take some knocks.
theres another similiar brand but i dont recall the manufscturers name.(*update* AADLAND) i know Leupold uses them on their higher end scopes like the MK-6 and higher.
    hope that helps.

Nice review! I came looking after having their 5x prism acss scope: I love it. And so I wondered what they had in acss at different magnification levels, and found this scope, and their 6-24 with the HUD DMR. SO, I now have the ability to outfit several very different rifles and calibers with scopes that are the same core reticle, but each expanded on different ways for specialized purposes. Saving up to outfit all of my rifles with different variants. I’m not sure there is a comparable reticle that is common and yet tweaked for specific use across any other manufacturer. There may be, but I like this one. :)
Also: I’m no sniper either, but I grew up in the sticks using Kentucky windage with irons and cheap glass... this reticle is plenty helpful for what I’m looking for.

    • @holdernewtshesrearin5471
      @holdernewtshesrearin5471 5 років тому

Luke Tilley - Leupold makes great optics.
but many are made in the same factories as these PA scopes and others.
made with the same quality and care and with the same components including glass.
the difference? about $1000 or more.
im not knocking Leupold but the optics industry doesnt work like you might think. very few optics companies actually make their products.
theyre all made overseas, either Japan or the Phillipines for scopes in the $600 and up range or China for $600 and below.
that is NOT a bad thing btw. optics of today are light years ahead of what they were even 10 yrs ago.
but today, a savvy buyer can get equal quality and save thousands by buying smart.
do a little research into it. youll see.
and if not, your Leupolds will still serve you well. happy shooting!

How’s it going there sir, Christian from South Texas writing a comment here. I had a question, I just picked up a saint victor .308 AR-10 with a 16” barrel from Springfield armory and I’m torn whether to get this scope for hunting between 100-300 yards for hogs, whitetail deer, and nilagi. I’ve been told the Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8x24 would be fine for this role too. Which would you recommend for hunting within this range (100-300 yards) Including steel targets up to 400. I know you’re busy but thanks for your time and a reply would be greatly appreciated.

Pretty boilerplate bro. How was it in low light?

    • @holdernewtshesrearin5471
      @holdernewtshesrearin5471 5 років тому +1

KiLLaDaTa - i can speak for PA 4-14x ACSS R-grid FFP scope and both the stsndard PA 1-8x ACSS SFP and the PA platinum 1-8x ACSS FFP model.
they perform incredibly well at low light.i expect that from the 4-14x by 44 mm due to its size but the 1-8x models have a tiny 24 mm objective yet pass a lot of light.
as i understand it the new PA 3-18x by 50 mm ACSS scope is even better with a slight upgrade in glass and a larger objective than my 4-14x.
i dont think youll have any issues with either model. they are excellent and the equal of other scopes costing 2-3 times as much or more.
dont scoff at that. watch the videos and read the forumns etc.
      PA is on point!
