Here I was thinking Conservative Zoomers were a myth and everyone now was a "Woke Leftist". TBH, people like you give this cynical Millennial a little hope for the future.
@@Logan912 haha i remember thinking this when i was a kid. i thought every christian came from a jew who at some point converted because i didn’t know about pagans. that being said of course, many people have at least some jewish ancestry.
Ye and the only person I know who exhibits any actual characteristics of Christ as written in the bible is a bi leftist who actually cares about other people's wellbeing🤷♂️
It is, but that idea often gets misinterpreted, especially by leftists. To be kind and loving towards someone means that you accept them as a person, and recognize that they have value. This doesn't mean that you also need to accept every one of their BEHAVIORS. As a matter of fact, one of the most loving things you can do is to call out someone for sinful/immoral behavior. You're not judging them for the behavior, you're simply recognizing that the behavior isn't right, and since you want whats best for that person, you give them the constructive criticism necessary. Leftists have manipulated this into meaning "if you have an issue with any of the immoral, crappy things we're doing, then that means you arent being a good Christian. You people arent supposed to judge people". There is a difference between judging someone and recognizing when someone is doing wrong. Its similar to the difference between a police officer and a judge, the officer witnesses the crimes and arrests the person, then brings them before a judge to be judged.
I had some slight catholic values instilled into me by my grandmother as a child but my parents never really cared or went to church or anything. Now Im a conservative person in my 20s and am trying to find my own in society and christianity has such a draw to me. I am trying to study the bible and choose the type of church I would like to go to wisely as to further glorify God. Thank you for making these videos, it shows me I am not alone.
Go check out some churches, see what their beliefs are, and read the Bible (a lot of people like to start in Matthew). I would encourage you to ask a lot of questions, if they are a good church, they will answer them happily. And if you have a bad experience, please don't let that push you away from Christianity. We're all human and we're all messed up. Try a different church, and pray that they are firmer in their faith and love.
Very inspiring glow up story that I can relate to, went from a cynical, depressed, secular, left apologist to an actual functioning person, thanks for sharing man.
Hey, Im also a Jew who was really leftist but became a conservative christian. As I grow older i become more and more conservative. I live in Israel but I am in a art- school thing so everybody there leftist, like u said, in the religious aspect. I’m so happy that god had conquered my heart through the New Testament. As I’m writing this I don’t have a church but my belief in god is very strong. I really like your videos, especially this one, your story. Im still searching for a church and myself because it’s just different in Israel. I don’t have a local community. God bless you.
Interesting story, thanks for sharing. As an atheist who was raised by progressive christian parents going to a calvinist church and school in a secular country a lot of your story is surprisingly relateable. I also went through an anti-religious progressive phase in my teens, listening to the daily show every evening (with john steward back then), until I noticed other progressives blindly believing in some things I just couldn't believe (I remember the ridiculous rape allegations in the Atheism+ movement around 2013 as a clear turning point for me) and then gradually started questioning all of it. I don't really believe in anything supernatural myself, because I'm not interested in what I can't verify, but I respect it when Christians are theologically consistent in their beliefs, even if they go against the cultural grain.
This is my story almost exactly as well. I'm an atheist simply because I personally don't have enough evidence to believe. But there are plenty of atheist who embrace their anti-religion AS their religion. Zoomer calls them "Leftist" but that's just their preferred political affiliation. I'd call most of them "militant atheist".
"I'm not interested in what I can't verify" doesn't this leave you feeling dissatisfied with life? And the reality is that there are some things you can't verify without trying to experience them! This is actually the mentality I'm always trying to fight. The reality is that people don't understand the world nearly as well as they think. I've been disappointing in the quest for certainty enough times that I've come to the conclusion that being humble about what I believe is the best way. No more endless grasping for certainty that won't come! It's far better to accept that I don't know. In my case - I think it's better to have a little bit of faith.
@@jayrome007 I think Zoomer calls them leftists because he's referring to people who essentially worship the leftist ideology, regardless of their stated spiritual views -- I think primarily the LGBT group. There's a lot of overlap there with antitheism, but it's not exactly the same group. Antitheists are kind of hard to take seriously because they have _deep pathos_ in reaction to something they claim to not believe in... and when was the last time you met someone who made it his _mission in life_ to destroy all belief in the Easter Bunny? Or Wendigos, or elves? When have you ever met someone who gets frothing mad over an imaginary thing he doesn't believe in? But the feelings in the anti-theists are real, because they really do believe in God, otherwise they wouldn't be angry at him.
theologically consistent they believe the only way to enter the kingdom of god is to follow the leviticus laws but for some reason all of them wear mixed fabrics and the majority eat meat none of them own slaves which is commanded by god to do in what way are they consistent when even the orthodox catholics dnt even follow it
Consider yourself blessed brother (I know you already do). You found Christ in high school! I went through high school, college, and my job after college to discover the Good News, even when I had more than a few people around me guiding me towards Christ. I was stubborn, confused, and a hedonist. I consider myself blessed as well for discovering everything you mention here by the time I was 26. I’m 28 now and my faith grows stronger every month. God is also blessing me with abundance in my career that I know I don’t deserve. Without Him we are nothing, and I’ve never been happier.
I'm a recent convert my conversion was in january and i'm am a bapthist and your videos + your way of teaching some themes is really helping me understand more about the faith, thank you for your hard work! PS: as a bapthist i forgive you for you critics videos 😂😂
Brother, your story is beautiful and you are certainly not alone. The closer I move to Christ the more I realise my old Leftist ways of thinking are hollow. The love offered by the empire of shame is a mask thinly covering idolatry and self satisfaction. I pray for those whose existence is bound up in Earthly things, may they realise the true treasure which has been revealed.
Your story reminds me a lot of CS Lewis's story. I am a confessional Lutheran who lives in the Midwest and I see conservative evangelicalism here starting to drift towards the left. I grew up in a conservative Wesleyan tradition and have been a christian my whole life. Sadly, I have watched all of my close conservative Christian friends gradually become woke neo-marxists. It would have happened to me and my wife too but we did our research and now attend our confessional Lutheran Church. So even though our Christian Midwest culture is not as far gone as what you would see on the East Coast it is a culture that is gradually becoming "progressive Christian." It's really sad to see. Like watching loved ones die.
@@coopergates9680 That is a bit of an assumption to make. Although it does have a decent chance of having some truth in it. To give an answer to your question: The main issue with people drifting left religiously is when they start putting Marxist principles and modern class and intersectional groups above the bible. Reducing it to myth giving up the idea it is true so that they can appear acceptable to Marxists. And maybe in an extreme case even denying the Gospel or core ideas like the Divinity of Christ. Presumably you are some form of anti-capitalist or communist from that comment. Generally, through the lens of communism, religion is simply viewed as a tool of the elites and capitalist class to control the people. Now there are cases of elites trying to use religion to control people. But, from that perspective, it cynically just views it as a tool of power. Despite seeking an earthly utopia in a communist paradise. With a religious fervor. Now, I don't know you, so I can't say what you think in those types of topics. I personally don't see an issue with people drifting in a direction that is anti-capitalist. But, even if they do, in today's political environment. to move towards the left any further than the center requires that you adopt positions that oppose the bible. Although, there are pragmatic arguments that the elements where the left are right and do good that outweighs the harm the cause. Similar ones apply on the right. There are many right-wing politicians who do very evil things and still try to manipulate Christians into voting for them. So, in practice the danger isn't so much in drifting away from supporting capitalism, but rather away from the bible and to identity politics focused Now I have met a couple communist anarchists who were surprisingly friendly towards Christians. They were more focused on intentionally building up local communities and limiting the power of the state. Working towards eventually abolishing it replacing it with a confederation of integrated communities who support their members individually.. They were definitely anti-capitalist. But they were much less concerned with traditional liberal things. And more with direct action that makes a positive difference. I think that Christians could be political allies with some of the left. But, the majority of them don't want Christians as allies and would prefer to focus on social issues in a way that doesn't really challenge capitalism. But, rather simply attempts to establish socialism by expanding the government, shifting the control of the society to newer elites currently in the Financial industry. And those that are firmly anti-capitalist. Are often(but not always), so ideological that people who have differences in opinions are viewed as against them, even if they are interested in working towards making society better. In my view the republicans represent the interests of the businessmen who are in the field of industry. Such as oil, what manufacturing is left, construction, domestic farming, etc. While the democrats primarily act for the financial elites who have some disagreements with the manufacturing elites. And so the choice for others is which of those elites visions is closer to what they want. Getting back to Christianity. The gospel isn't just about god loving people. But, rather how you need salvation. And that is freely offered from God. But radical regard for others on a level equal to even greater than ourselves is part of biblical teaching. And a standard that Christians aspire to. So there are many political issues like immigration, anti-war/military spending, support for the poor, support for the sick and old, fair treatment of workers,, forgiveness of excessive debts, anti-colonialism, anti-racism, etc. where the general outlook that people are instructed to take in the bible lines up much better with the American left than the American Right. Treatment of foreigners is also a particularly important issue that comes up in both the new and old testament a lot of times.
@@jonathanlochridge9462 Holy crap you fit a whole essay in here. Anyway, I find it intriguing that people have this notion that Christianity and far leftism are mutually exclusive. I'd be willing to bet that over 95% of Christians pick and choose which parts of the Bible they follow anyway, since if someone follows every bit of it, they will likely end up in prison. Left wing Methodists are happy with, for example, Matthew 19, talking about giving everything to the poor and how difficult it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God, while the MAGA extremists don't follow that at all and prefer bigoted and manipulative interpretations. While it's true that communist communities tend to be less religious, since communism is a philosophical matter, one could build religions around it and find aspects of existing religions that overlap with it. Ideally, leftism favors freedom of religion, as in everyone has the right to any faith or no faith, as long as it is not forced into law or on someone with another faith. As you know, the opposite combination also exists; Ayn Rand, Lew Rockwell, and other far right devout capitalists who are also atheist. They reject Gods as controlling authoritarian constructs.
your loved ones are pretty fucking based taking from the rich and giving to the poor is litterally what jesus was about being anything other than a neo marxist is not only cringe but against what the bible actually asks of christians if your conservative christians are becoming democratic socialists its probably because it aligns with their values and that of the bibles
Hi, I found you yesterday and you are everything I’ve been searching for. We have similar back grounds dealing with leaving leftism and researching to grow and learn. You’re helping me learn and I am thankful for you! ALSO AYE VIOLA TWINS
In regard to the 76 genders thing, while I understand it’s obviously a hyperbolic statement, I don’t think that the Left and leftists (at least for the most part) actually believe in some of the stuff you see on those graphs where individuals believe they are foxes or whatever, rather I think that gender lies more on a spectrum as opposed to definitive ideals either way. For example, the people I know who are leftists/gender nonconforming individuals see it as being more “masculine” or “feminine,” and use pronouns accordingly. People who lie in the middle, then, use ‘they.’ Overall I don’t think that most leftists really believe that there are 76 genders but rather that each individuals’ gender is determined by complex neurological phenomena that occurs innately in their brain. Your gender is not a social construct, then, the same way your sex isn’t. It is widely predetermined. Just some food for thought as a left leaning person who lives in a VERY Left city and goes to a very right school. Great video!!
For the most part I think you’re right that most liberals don’t think there is literally 76 genders, but there are radical liberals out there that genuinely believe there are 76 genders
it's not "most" mate, *NO* leftists believe in 76 genders, as with most things that was a joke from places like 4chan that spread like wildfire and now everyone and their mom suddenly believes that lefties have 287439 pronouns and want litter boxes in bathrooms. it's all extremely obvious that it's not real to anyone even remotely knowledgeable about transgenderism/gender diversity in real life, subscribing to it regardless is extremely embarrassing
@@calebclark9114 actually, leftists believe there are 425775097 genders. This is because we add 3 more genders every time someone complains there are too many

I was raised culturally non-denominational and I'm almost sure that I received an efficacious baptism there, if I deconstructed anything it would have been continuationism (in the charismatic context), egalitarianism and then finally blind ecumenism went out the window and I am now a confessional Lutheran.
Slightly older than you at the ripe age of 28 lol but I am also a leftist turned Christian. Grew up in south Florida where everyone is liberal (unlike the rest of the state) & I resonate so much when you said you praise God for redeeming you from something the total opposite. God saved me from feminism/ lgbt lifestyle. Now I’m a married mother. Just found your channel and love it! I am trying to learn about the different denominations and understand where I “fit”.
I am a Christian, and I consider myself left wing but to me all that means is that the government should spend money to help the middle class and poor with healthcare and education, rather than on weapons and destruction. We already get taxed, and it is always better for our wealth to go to investing in our population. It is sad to see left wingers forgetting these ideas, in favor or extreme left wing social ideology.
I am also Left-wing and Christian myself and i absolutely agree with everything you said, especially your last sentence, most modern Socialists completely forgot Socialism actually stands for, and think "its when you love Sexual Minorities and hate White people" or something like that, and sometimes, i am ashamed to call myself Left wing because of them, because i am strongly against that wokeism/political corectness and they make us normal Leftists look bad.
I’m a Christian in one of the hearts of leftism. New York. I’m still trying to find a church that teaches the gospel and they do exist. I found one because of what this guy taught me.
I have also become Christian, your story is inspiring for me though. I have been raised Catholic in Poland (you basically have no other churches here), and in these churches there's a lot of really bad staff that priests don't want to fix for some reason. The fact that they are really idolizing authority and their positions, really put me off and I became atheist at age of 14/15. I have gone so liberal, that I have became anarchist. But after about 2 years of that I started researching about other denominations of Christianity (I don't know why, but only Christianity felt for me like true religion and many teaching in Catholicism didn't see just right for me. Mainly the aspect of Jesus dying for our sins, but we still have to do, or not commit deadly sin, if we don't want to go to heaven), in my history classes and some others we were told about 2 schisms, but it was treated like these people were heretics and we just left it like that. But yeah, I can tell that at 17 I fully believed that there is God, but I didn't know who he is. It took me a year to believe in Christianity, but I was really woke and weak Christian, I lived in sin (mainly fornication) didn't wanted to change, because "hey Jesus died for me and for my sins, so I can do whatever", well looking at me from now I see I was so stupid. To be honest, because God caused me to doubt my faith and if there really is a God, I started to research and most importantly I started to read my Bible (Thank God for that). Yeah about 1 or 2 months ago I truly became a new creation in Christ, I unfortunately don't have friends that are Christian, they are all agnostic/atheist or deist or some believe that there is God, but they don't know. I really try to evangelise them and teach them that God loves them and they should repent from their sins, but I see that the main problem with them is probably problem with their hearts, they have became, so closed to goodness that they cannot accept God. The best thing I can do for them is to pray for them to change (If you want you can pray for them too, I'd really appreciate that), I don't want to leave them because, I like them and I think I'm the only way they can find God, and their disbelief really only makes more Christian, because to argue with them I really have to have good and on the spot understanding of the word of God. Hope they will see the light. God bless you guys
Bruh my story is so similar to yours.. im currently 15 year old atheist, also from Poland. The mentality here is that you are either an atheist, catholic (90% of population) or some weirdo in between (aka any other denomination). My family never used to be too religious, my mum went to church, i used to beleive in God, although looking at that time, i often treated christianity like some more serious greek myth. Now i don't beleive mostly because of no good proof - most of them have been abolished many times or don't really prove christianity but the existance of "the first cause" or sth like that. Honestly Zoomer is someone i have never agreed and disagreed with so much.
@@moist_blue And you are clearly lacking in critical thinking skills. For example, do you Consider Abortion to be an act of Violence, and what are your thoughts on Transition surgery for children?

It's cool to hear that you write music. I do too, honestly, though to be honest, I'm more into xenharmonic or microtonal Christian Hymns than anything else.
I was raised in a christian home and Ive been christian since I was 7. I lost my faith at 13 when my grandparents died and I had a lot of horrible things happen to me. I felt abandoned, unloved. I felt like at every turn I let others down. So I grew a lot of hate and anger that sadly is still somewhat there to this day. Im 21 now and have regained my faith and its never been stronger. I dont think its wrong for a christian to date non christian so long as your end goal isnt marriage. And I dont believe its wrong to be with someone who doesnt share your beliefs, I see it as more the relationship will have a much much harder time truly flourishing. I believe its not my place to say that things like Gay marriage is wrong. I personally believe that its not what God intended but im never gonna condemn people for their actions. Thats between themselves and God. I dont support Gay marriage but I cant stop ya if thats what you are dead set on. I never try to talk people out of what theyre gonna do, cause more often than not its unsuccessful and it only drives a larger wedge between the two people. I only tell them how and what I believe in, why I believe it and that Im not going to try to stop them. Ive had conversations with people from all walks of life and most of the time theyre fine with me. There are a few exceptions but those are few and far between. Thats just my $0.02 on the matter though, take it for what you will
how do you know what god intended union in the bible does not mean marriage it means being together in partnership your not going to condemn people for things they arent in control of BUT gay people are just going to hell for something outside of their control and you feel that the only way they can enter the kingdom of god is to live a life of loneliness because you feel the need to gatekeep someone elses life your christian love is so fucking hypocritical its amazing like bro you dont even follow all of the leviticus laws which god says is the only way into heaven yet you judge gays for trying to be happy because your all loving god is selective make your religion make sense either god is all loving or hes an exclusive prick that allows people like hitler into heaven simply because they believe in god

@@amberharmsen2497 Ironically, you need to walk a mile in someone else’s shoes. Please stop thinking that you’re morally (and perhaps intellectually) superior and stop strawmanning the Bible. I recommend deleting Reddit and focus on actually learning the views of people you disagree with instead of regurgitating what everyone around you says. The Bible always said to give voluntarily, having your money stolen and given to someone else is not giving voluntarily.
I dont see an issue with leftist ideas and christianity - i fall into both categories. The last months i have been seeking a better connection to my spiritual side, but my issues with the catholic church are similar to my issues with leftists: People enforcing a monopoly on opinion, may it be justified or not, cause serious discomfort for me and i am not a person who can easily submit to worldly authoritiy. Thus, i get in conflict with other leftists, because i think cancel culture does more harm than good and i get in conflict with (some) christians, because i am Pro LGBT. It is hard for me to fit into the catholic church, just as i struggle among leftists, because i have a strong opinion on free speech. There is only one king and only one judge and that is Jesus Christ. This king did not need a crown, nor jewels or garments of silk to convince people he is divine. And i hope i use my life in a way i can one day stand before him without looking back in shame.
The first sentence is your first problem. You can't be pro lgbt and christian at the same time. You can't advocate for sin when you follow Jesus. Let's not sugarcoat it, that's blashemy. Tho catholics are pretty good at it. I hope you find the truth 🙏
@@SaharTheGoat I hold no grudge against you, even though I cannot agree with you. Still, blasphemy is quite a big word and I would distance myself from that.
I wouldn't necessarily call leftism or any other political or social ideology a religion per se. I would say that a subset of it could indeed have a religious character. I think this distinction is important to avoid overgeneralizing and oversimplifying. Besides that, great video, and it's nice to hear your conversion story. God bless you.
it's not really an oversimplification. They have an origin myth (abiogenesis, evolution), an end-times story (climate change), original sin (white guilt), they have an accounting of sin (carbon footprint), they have sacred cows in the form of gay or trans people (or minorities). In fact, the "minority" is the cornerstone of their moral system. I think it's actually more complicated to see it as something other than a religion.
@@josephbrandenburg4373 Calling leftism a religion because "white guilt is their original sin" is one of the most disconnected from reality takes I've ever heard on the internet. Of course it's a gross oversimplification. Anyone having a belief about how the universe came to be is religious now? No, any belief in anything isn't a religion. Neither the left nor the right is a religion. Religion is a belief system characterized by faith and worship, usually in supernatural entities. Trying to equivocate faith-based belief systems and current political opinions as one in the same is just.. delusional. They can go hand-in-hand, like we see on the right and its connections to Christianity, but going as far to project your own relationship with religion and political beliefs onto a largely secular group is what I'm calling unhinged.
There's a great theologist from out here in Brazil Augustus Nicodemus and in one of his teachings he said a thing that stuck in my head "When you're in a cult or any group that is'nt in the right path you will be struck with a doubt that will only end after you enter the path of the Lord". The class was about cults but i think it can be use to any form of group or culture

I guess I'm still a "leftist" In the old school way. But I never really felt like leaving my Catholocism. As a teenager I was into atheism etc but as I grew older and nature I became much more religious and realised how much cultural and philosophical impact Christianity had
atheism isnt something your into because its not a religion or a belief atheism is a lack of belief based on seeking objective truths about life rather than subjective beliefs that cant be proven
what impacts does christianity have on cultural norms and morality that arent the result of different values resulting from cultural evolution coexisting in 1 given place
Very interesting to hear this, as growing up Pentecostal I had more the opposite experience. In the sense that I had to be exposed to real leftist people as opposed to real Christian people.
unfortunately pentecostals are more religiously conservative than they are Christian in my research on pentecostal history there was just too much denial of historic distinctives and bunk authority claims for me to consider the bulk of them Christian. I am a confessional Lutheran because of the pentecostal poison that takes over almost all non-denominational churches.
@@amberharmsen2497 Either you can be a bad christian and a good leftist, or you can be a good christian and a bad leftist. Almost all of the policies that the bible supports are right of center.
@@memeboi6017 The Bible mostly supports conservative social policy, but the most you can get from it in terms of economic policy is that taxation is not theft and poverty will never completely go away. I am very economically conservative, but that's more because of logical contemplation on theories of economics rather than what the Bible says.
Now i am 100% not your target audience as you'd probably consider me a 'woke leftist', but i still find this story incredibly fascinating. First things first, i grew up in a typical conservative Christian family. Throughout middle/early high school i was super into Trump and other conservation icons of the mid 2010s. I attended church every Sunday with my family. You know the drill. However during 2020, i couldn't attend church for obvious reasons and my social circle from church disappeared with it (i didn't use social media much during this time). As a result, i began exploring more social groups and ended up in some more left leaning groups. Just like how Christans were portrayed to you as monsters, i was consuming a lot of media that portrayed the left as these pink haired, screaming maniacs that hated everyone that disagreed with them. But when these notions were broken by my new left leaning friends, i started to question my old way of life and beliefs. Fast forward to recently, and this might seem very strange, but i've actually rejoined my old church. One of the reasons is that i've realized that i used to have very extreme beliefs about 'the other side' was because of my lack of interaction with those people. Now there's obviously people on the left who are quite extremist in their views. I've seen people argue that say, if you are pro-choice, you cannot associate with somebody who is pro-life as they are oppossed to a human right. However, i feel that by having these exclusionary attitudes, we prevent ourselves from fully understanding why each of us hold the beliefs we do, which leads to violent conflict and polarization. I can see being accepted into the Midwestern Christian camp made a huge impact on you. Then your leftist former friends excluding you once you expressed any sort of disagreement further gave you more reason to seek community with Christian circles. But didn't Jesus Christ treat even those who were considered impure with kindness? Or what about Matthew 5:43-48 where Jesus teaches us to literally love our enemies? I believe that we should be respectful of each others beliefs, so long as they don't impede on each others' agency.
im in the same boat you are im what he considers "woke leftist" as well and its funny he sees that as bad when jesus was actually much in favor of calling out oppression and unjust behavior of others something that never happens in conservatism but very frequently in leftist circles god created everyone in his image aka unique and mysterious this includes trans and intersex people to judge gods creation is to judge god himself im not a theist i simply point out the beliefs of theists and be like what about this ive been in theism since i was 7 i left after Lutheran confirmation (partly because i was persecuted and abused by the church because i am trans the "holy pastors" couldnt handle that i was one of their gods creations) i left at 15 and became an atheist and still am at 21
Thank you for sharing this! Eventhough I am a Catholic who's in the center / leaning conservative, I absolutely agree with you that no matter what side you are on the "others" are ofte portrayed in a very seldomly true light. Of course there are extreme cases like you mentioned, but they occur everywhere! Basically what I'm trying to say is going out and connecting with people different from you is never a bad idea :)
I have a few questions. 1) How did you come to believe there was a deity? 2) Do you believe your personality is your soul? 3) Do you believe your soul will live on forever or will it die with your brain? 4) Why do you believe in an immortal soul? 5) Do you believe that after you die you will go to heaven or hell immediately or does your soul stay asleep until the Last Day when your body is resurrected? 6) What makes Christianity more true than Hiduism?
im an atheist so most of these questions wont apply to me but i can answer 6 for you at the end of the day no religion is ever going to be better than another because those that wrote down the tenets were flawed people operating off of their times cultural norms morality and values change with each new generation and people in an area we call this cultural evolution to insist we base our values off of those before us will lead to the current generation falling behind on the new environment and those around them a bible should always be adjusted to fit the current times and that requires pastors to interpret what does the bible mean in this context im an atheist which means i have no beleif in god or souls however i do believe in values even if the bible never cam from god that doesnt mean it still cant be used to better an individuals life however it should ONLY be used for that individuals life not to be used on others so to answer number 6 it depends because the religion is only as good as the people that practice it if the people insist on living via traditional values they will end up harming themselves and others even if its not intentional
@@amberharmsen2497 Ironic considering all of your comments under these videos are themselves filled with logical fallacies. Just another arrogant atheist who thinks of himself as an intellectually superior being.
I agree that religion is more important than politics. I glad that you found such love from the Christians you met at music camp. I think it is a bit of a shame that leftism today is such a religion that the political side leaves no room for Christianity. The worldly Utopia they want isn't very feasible generally. But, the world could still be a lot better than it is. Overall, it is only more recently that non-marxist areas of the left became highly opposed to Christianity. But, yeah the majority of the leftist movement seems to hate apostates and those who are question how extreme they are pushing. It's interesting that you mentioned you switched your position on abortion due to logical rather than religious regions. A decent chunk of leftist values are compatible with Christianity in my view, but the actual policies and end goal are so different that they have placed themselves into opposition against Christians. Abortion, etc. But the religious nature of Marxism has shined through when it has taken power. Despite many Russian Christians sympathizing with the plight of the poor and advocating for significant changes to live and society. Most notably Leo Tolstoy. The communist state actively chose to make itself into the object of their religion. Actively taught atheism. And only allowed churches which actively supported their atheist propaganda efforts to "survive" in public. Actively persecuting and imprisoning pastors on a widespread level. There are some interesting catholic socialist groups that didn't go anywhere near as bad. But, we still haven't seen that good results. The story is really inspiring. But, there are many political issues where I think Christianity is more aligned with the left than the right. But, that doesn't matter much. Because they for the most part aren't willing to allow any heretics from their hyper-radical push towards their utopia. So regardless of how much we care for equality or social justice in general. As long as we view the bible as inspired and use it's standards. Then we will be viewed as unacceptable by a significant chunk of the left. It was also interesting to hear you still care about environmentalism. I personally think on the political front that is pretty important. Although, abortion, assisted suicides, and the death penalty are more important. Since human life comes first. there is a significant impact to human life by other issues. Both the affect of abortion outstrips those. Fortunately major strides have been made there. So, other areas where human lives are effected significantly are areas for active improvement beyond just resisting the left. Since if the only thing those in the right does is resist change then many of the criticisms of the left become more valid. It would be nice if we actually had more than a 2 party system. but, that isn't likely to ever change.
awww yes putting your trust in something that has no evidence for its existance versus the thing that exists that objectively makes the world better IF you participate in it
damn that last part about girl hits home, having witnessed similiar process of my close friend going from traditional catholic to whatever type of leftist she is now couple of days ago, essentialy going against me for what i belive is right, the pronouns, hair dyeing, female empowerment... Maybe some people are just predestined to fail?
@Redeemed Zoomer. I'm only 5:30 seconds into your video and just wanted to say that I loved your All Christian Dominations Explained video, it was incredibly informative and well-edited and you have a tone and cadence ideal for this type of content. At the timestamp I would like to point out that the whole "76 genders" thing is a strawman fallacy. Outside of some terminally online communities, no liberal or even leftists would seriously advocate that there are 76 genders. It sounds to me like the term you are searching for is "transgenderism". I don't know the church's official stance on it but gender dysphoria is a real condition and it's real for the people experiencing it. You clearly have a wealth of knowledge on religion, theology and culture and that's why I'm watching your videos at 3 am. But I would ask you to refrain from making broad generalizations about the LGBT community. Most are not radical hippies that believe they can be a deer, or an attack helicopter. I'm just saying that most trans people I've met just want to be accepted for who they are, or barring that, left alone.
I've heard people, in person, say there are endless genders. No matter your stance on trans people, there most certainly are people who believe in this. I don't know your location or age, but in more liberal areas, people will at least look at you funny if you say there are two genders, even if you acknowledge trans people.
@@sophiaeq So what? Maybe if you stick to college towns you might get a couple of reactions like that. But even if I give you the benefit of the doubt on this, that doesn't change my opinion of the LGBT community one iota. In the real adult world, trans people are just people like you and me. They work a job they hate just like you and me. And they pay taxes to an uncaring government bureaucracy just like you and me. You're bringing up the opinions of a minority *within* a minority which brings me back to my first point: It's a stawman, and should not be used to generalize trans or non-binary people as a whole.
@@124085 Thank you for your post. You're right: blanket statements on the LGBT community and the whole "76 genders" argument is unhelpful. The issue is much deeper than mere than LGBT or non-LGBT--it's even deeper than the topic of sexuality itself. The root of the problem lies in idolatry, identity, and authority. Ultimately, the foundation is whether you and i believe that the Bible is the perfect, inerrant word of God or not. If we are treating it like the sole authority and agree with it when it says that our Creator is good and holy, and that his institution of marriage and intimacy is GOOD (Genesis 1). Of course you know that the Bible condemns homosexual and transgender practice, so the better question becomes: why? Well, God designed human beings as worshippers, so that we could worship and enjoy Him forever. But when we sin, we worship something else: ourselves. We capitulate and give into our wills whenever we disobey him (in this case, in specific things like transgenderism and homosexuality and other things outside the marriage bounds instituted by God), which is idolatry against God. So, if you want a TLDR, the LGBT community shouldn't be SPECIFICALLY singled out by Christians. I mean, God thinks being conceited and prideful is a bigger sin than sexual perversion anyway. It's much more broader than that. It's about the worship of God, and how us humans deviate from that endeavor by lusting after our own flesh.
Hello, interested agnostic here. I'd interested to hear more details on why you believe it's better to grow up cultural Christianity rather than cultural non-Christianity. Obviously some cultures come to mind very quickly that I'm very glad I didn't grow up in, but then I think of this image comparing the subways in NYC vs Japan which was not culturally Christian but I think I would have appreciated to live in.
As a leftist. Your friends and the people who indoctrinated you into seeing Christians as homophobic and overly conservative were wrong, you say we don’t accept any opinion even slightly different from our own but I do, I agreed with a lot of things you said here. I’m a feminist but not radically feminist, I am gender-fluid and don’t believe there are 76 genders (but only because I don’t think gender should be listed so explicitly), but I’m also a strong believer in socialism. I think just like the leftists you grew up around who generalised Christians to be homophobic and overly conservative, you now generalise leftists to be uncompromising and overly radical. This is bad in the same way that your childhood indoctrination was bad. I really hope you see what I mean, and I hope even more that you, or any one replies to explain their view on this, whether we have similar views or not.
Recently Ive been feeling the pull to post something online about my faith, or maybe start trying to become one of those christian influencers that shares bible verses and talks about what God is speaking to them but i've generally been scared because I don't know how to answer the hate and questions I know would come into my comments if it got popular. This video has definitely built my confidence a little in that I could just start by putting my testimony out there, maybe post it over a minecraft video idk but it gave me hope, thank you!
For me it was the other way around. I was raised by Christians, but became a leftist to rebel. I was a leftist and atheist for years, until the 2020 Election happened. For the 4 years trump was president I hated him, but one of my friends put me onto Infowars. I was anti establishment but I thought Alex Jones was nuts, but then he kept talking about Jesus over and over again. I took another look at Christianity but from a right wing logical world view, it made more and more sense. Then slowly it turned into full blown Christian Conservatism but with small progressive bursts. I don’t want humanity to stagnate but we are just running off of a cliff.
you realize the traditionalism conservatives push for the 60s era aka nuclear family dynamic is the reason why mental health exists in the capacity it currently does among the older generation right? alex jones can talk about jesus all he wants but if hes gonna harass school shooting survivors saying it never happened is that something a christian would do???? the answer should be obvious NO we can also look towards common evangelical conservatives like marjorie taylor green who is racist and hates immigrants regardless of legal status and is anti semitic are these people actually christians or are they using a religion to gain favor because they are losing in the polls via popular vote and have been since bush
Heyo, as a devout and conservative christian who believes in free will: you don't need to apologize for having differing beliefs on non-salvific issues. In fact, please don't. The interplay between free will and God's sovereignty is a mystery I don't believe we will fully understand this side of heaven, and as long as you don't use your perspective of it as an excuse not to witness, (which you obviously aren't) or think that that's what saves you (which you don't seem to) then it doesn't really matter and we can still hold hands as brothers and sisters in Christ. Thanks for your videos! I pray God blesses your ministry.
I found your channel just a week ago and I find your channel, ideology, and story fascinating. I come from basically the opposite side of the pond, I consider myself a Leftist from a political and social standpoint as well as an atheist. I have no problem with christians or religion in general. I even respect much of what jesus teaches and the messages christians send, I dont call myself christain though on the basis that I dont believe in god and dont go to church. As a Leftist i'd like to say that the ignorant bullies you described as leftists dont speak for me, or many others. Anyone who would ostracize another innocent human being for their faith is no leftist. I may respectfully disagree with some christians views on things like homosexuality, but discrimination against christians isnt justified. I'd argue that those from your highschool were simply ignorant, immature kids who let the people around them do their thinking for them. Their bigotry doesn't stem from real "leftist ideology."
I was raised anti-christian. Every influence I had told me it was bad. My public school never talked about christianity besides the political situations even though we covered in depth the theology of almost every religion. It's been nice to learn about christianity.
not being taught about chrisitanity isnt the same as being taught to be anti christian a schools job is to teach you about truth and what is needed to be successful learning about god doesnt earn you money
I may not agree with you on a lot of things but I've always admired how you stayed strong in your faith in the Lord. Wirh you growing up as leftist, I can only imagine how hard it must be. God bless you always brother, and keep strong and growing in the faith! 🙏
Isaiah 1:18 "Come now, and let us reason together," says the Lord. I have a feeling that one would not find a sentence like this when reading anything from the Left. I mean what other divine deity invites His people to reason and really digest what He's saying? To me, this is one of the verses I would point to if someone asks me what kind of God I serve.
the same kind of divine deity that demands his followers own slaves in order to enter heaven leviticus 25:44-46 the kind that allows you to rape women as long as there are no witnesses deuteronomy the kind that allows you to rape people from cities that dont surrender
I’m really impressed how you can discuss such deep topics while playing Minecraft. You sir, are high IQ, no doubt about it. Might even be a genius. I can’t multitask at all. I have a hard time explaining things even when I’m just talking.
I remember being a mild leftist to a conservative then to those cringy nahti larpers during gypsy crusader time and now recently im now a Christian Conservative
I have a story about re-becoming a Christian I was raised by my Christian grandparents until I had to go to school (R.I.P. grampa, well my top 2 favorite ones). (Disclaimer, I still go to school) during elementary and intermediate school I leaned more to science. Back then and even now I go to my grandma's on long weekends and summer break, but even still, most the people I'm around are leftists, even at my grandma's until my cousin A got kicked out (Disclaimer, I live in Ohio). During 4th grade I started getting these headaches whenever I tried to read (Disclaimer, I have glasses), so I prayed to God, because I was still a little bit of a Christian, but God didn't answer it. The last time I prayed that prayer was in 5th grade. Early 6th grade my parents had an argument, my dad gave me his room, and I remember praying to God, I even remember saying that if he let that happen, but God let it happen. So I fell into depression, and I got addicted to to having the wrong kind of fun with anime girls, but God showed me by giving me the Digimon vital bracelet for Christmas. So God helped me get past 6th grade and later, that summer, God took away my depression, and he said (while doing it) "AceHackerXander, Xander C*** Cole", and I knew who I was again, and I've followed him ever since
The word culture derives from the Latin word "cultura" meaning "agriculture" or "cultivation" which then came to refer to education and finally the educated "cultural" part of society. Cult shares this root, but derives from it's meaning "to labour" which became "to worship" then to the modern definition.
I had a Catholic upbringing but I become agnostic and leftist. I'm still materialist, and in europe (most) leftism isn't so degenerate: so for the moment I'm not going back on my decision on faith. However your videos are really refreshing man, I like them a lot. I would say you are doing... Well... God's work (!) but please don't get god complex because of this, or should I say don't fall in Pride. Kudos!
hey bro i just wanted to say that after hearing the music you make, youre actually really good. loving your videos and your music, could you make a playlist of your comps at some point?
As a European progressive, I do say I feel in particular the American culture to be generally more of a domineering nature. I grew up in a Christian household, but with a cluster of developmental disorders that effectively left me somewhere in the middle of American Leftism and Christianity. I have grievances with both for opposite reasons. Mostly about the nature of sin and practise of faith on the Christian side and on the leftist side the complete denouncement of all tradition. I think it's called being a "fence sitter" there. But I'd disagree.
Watching this video as a "Leftist"(quotation marks because I am conservative socially, something most other leftists would Ostrasize me for) I must say I agree with you on how the Western Left is. It has gone from Political to Religious, There is a reason I never speak my Mind on Social issues, only on Economic ones, because if other Leftists knew I am trying to return to Christianity and that I am against the woke agenda, they would make my life insuferable until I gave into the way they think. Great video btw!
I don't know if it's just an american thing or I just avoided it all my life, but I'm leftist (btw, it's not a religion nor a unified belief system, it just encompasses a lot of political ideologies that are economically interventionist and socially liberal) and most leftists I know are normal people just that they have this political belief, like they don't hate you if you disagree (well, some radicals do tbh, but I think that happens in all ideologies). It's stupid to be socially liberal and at the same time hate people for their beliefs, you can discuss it or argue with them, which is nice, but just not listening to them is just proof that you're a radical that doesn't want to know the truth but be in your isolated group that you think morally correct, I think that is overall sad. Anyways, nice video!
As someone who doesn’t agree with a lot of what you say, i think the whole video is pretty entertaining! The thing i agree with you the most is how politics are treated almost like a cult, and that some things just shouldnt have to do with politics, which makes it a huge drawback, especially in the us, where everything seems too polarized, when it really isnt that way. I just think stuff like the lgbt community shouldn’t have to do with politics, since it has nothing to do with that and as someone who isnt political its a bit annoying to get associated with a party just because im part of that community. Anyways, i dont know if youll read this comment but its an overall good video and youre an awesome builder!
the job of a government is to ensure that its people is taken care of and that the rights of said people are protected so that all can live lives of joy and happiness if protecting a gay persons right to marry either due to religious or tax reasons is something that will benefit that couple it should be the governments job to protect that right to do otherwise is to gain favoritism and to discriminate if one group has a right the other groups should have that same right plain and simple
@@amberharmsen2497 but i think those are basic human rights not politics. I genuinely can’t understand why others just cant let someone live their own life without being against it. But youre right, maybe i didn’t explain myself well
what i took from this video: you were not attempting to build any sort of rational worldview based on actual principles, but instead looking for a comforting metanarrative and a safe, stable community. with this in mind it's pretty easy to see why you were so amenable to christianity and no surprise at all that you think that leftism is also a religion - indeed, that's what you were looking for in it (comfort, stability) and that's what ended up pushing you away from it. you say that you had to deconstruct a leftist worldview that you were brought up in, but that rings false to me. it seems that "leftism" (or rather, fairly bog-standard liberal social progressivism that sometimes brushed up against radicalism, but whatever) started asking too many uncomfortable questions, you did not want to cede that ground, and ended up (perhaps understandably) seeking comfort elsewhere after you faced social repercussions for it. so it's pretty incorrect to say that you were ever a leftist at all, i think - i get the feeling that you didn't actually believe in anything, didn't have any actual principles, just went along with the consensus of your social group. indeed, if you had actual principles, you wouldn't have abandoned them so easily after some social pushback and a friendly experience with people whose worldview is supposedly fundamentally opposed to yours. no, what happened is that you abandoned one social group for another and changed your worldview accordingly. you can coat it in very subjective, individualist language, but that is ultimately quite clearly the situation described in this video. anyway - it might not sound like it but i'm actually not trying to change your mind - i enjoy your videos on christian lore and such as an outsider (secular leftist) looking in, so more power to ya i guess.
It's important to note that while all of this was going on, he was a teenager. Teens are 100% capable of developing actual principles, but during that adolescent phase, peer relationships and social evaluation become hugely important factors in your thought processes, which is why you see a lot of in-group / out-group dynamics over what, as an adult, now seems ridiculous and inconsequential but means so much more to teens. The foundations of my own principles developed as a teen, and they've only developed further and gained more nuance over the years as an adult nearing 30. I will say this... As a teen, I did devote some energy to my beliefs being "seen" by like-minded individuals for acceptance as one of them, so there was a definite performative aspect to it, even though they were my sincerely-held beliefs and still are. You're spot-on with your analysis here, but I tend to be a little more sympathetic because this is symptomatic of being a teenager. His experiences have "teens being teens" written all over them from an outsider looking in, especially watching his video on being a Christian teen in a public high school. I'm guessing he's around 19-20 now, so the last remnants of that are still present to some small degree but will fall away completely in short order. I sincerely hope that he can really, truly read, learn, and evaluate the principles of both sides and come out with a more nuanced take, without the weighty emotional influence of all of the us vs. them bollocks.
Ironic, considering that the modern leftist mindset literally rejects the concept of a rational worldview based on it being "bigoted and hateful" and draws its principles from the emotional framework of its adherents. That said, I would agree that it is unfair to label leftism as a "Religion, because both its adherents and philosophical founders treat it more like a cult.
One thing I will say is that the concept of original does not outright disprove free will. The Eastern Orthodox church also has a different conception of ancestral sin than the Western/Catholic descendant churches
At about 7:00 minutes in, and I definitely agree with what you say about leftism and similar worldviews being a religion, especially in the way they affect how a person views the world. I think Ken Ham (founder of Answers In Genesis, if you don't know who they are go check them out, they mainly do apologetics) puts it well, and basically says that there are two main religions: mans word and God's word. They can't go together, and that means you pick one or the other. This is also why nearly all Christians are either completely heretical or not at all, and it is impossible to be neutral; after all, the Bible says you are either for God or against Him. Edit 1 Now that I am farther into the video (about 24:00 mins in) I will say that I believe both the doctrine of free will and the doctrine of predestination or predetermination or whatever its called. Fairly recently my church had a Bible study over the Book of Life mentioned in the Bible and we got off into Calvinism. Calvinism goes against the Bible (inmy opinion) in that it says that whoever will be saved will be saved and we don't have to care about evangelizing. While I agree with the former part of that, I also think that Christians are to tell all the world about Christ and His salvation. Also in that Bible study we mentioned an analogy: a parent will often give a choice to a child to do the right thing even when they know the child won't. I believe God calls everyone to salvation at some point in their lives, even when He knows they won't accept. Edit 2 31:00 ish minutes in. I agree with the 'if saved always saved" doctrine. If you accept Christ, you can't go back on it. You can, however, get what I call "backslidden". When one backslides, they get away from God, they get out of God's will and start to accept sin again, like they would've before they were saved. If we don't do what God wants us to do, we sin. If it becomes a habit to deny what God wants and accept what we want, we are backslidden and need to get back to God. Cultural Christianity, as you mentioned looks more like the 1960s in the U.S. We live today in a nearly completely secular culture, I'd say. A Christianized culture is much, MUCH better. It definitely is possible for someone to go from leftist to Christian. There are many, many others like you who got out of leftism or LGBTQ etc., but they can be very difficult to find and learn about. I my self am quite glad to have learned about you and your channel, and your testimony is great, thanks for sharing! Also, I too am a zoomer and I have been (and am) growing up in a Christian home. As you might be able to tell from the terminology I used in this long comment, I am specifically Baptist but a real saved Christian is a real saved Christian no matter the denomination.
I agree with basically everything you said. Although I would argue that we are in a Jewish culture more than a Christian one. One may call it secular and that is true too, as most Jews are cultural more than religious, but their culture is from their religion.
As a Calvinist, I just want to point out that Calvinism is absolutely not against evangelism. Calvinists believe that God has already chosen the elect, yes, but we also believe that God has chosen the method by which the elect are saved, and that method is evangelism. As there is no way for us to know who the elect are this side of heaven, it is our duty and privilege to evangelize to everyone, just as the Scriptures clearly teach. After all, we don't know the names in the book of life, but we do know that God desires all men to be saved.
you realize creationists believe humans and dinos lived together even though thats demonstrably false when we show them the oldest known human and the most recent extinct dinosaur
@@amberharmsen2497 That is assuming we are correct about the ages of these things. In the Bible, I believe a dinosaur is mentioned in Job 40:15, the behemoth that is described is most likely the titanosaur. If God told Job to look to that animal, then it was almost certainly alive in Job's time. So yes, I do realize that creationists believe dinosaurs and humans lived together. Also, believing the biblical timeline means that dinosaurs can't have lived outside of the time God made humans. And if dinosaurs didn't live, why would God create a perfect world with evidence of death in the past, death being a consequence of sin, when sin hadn't tainted the world yet? I believe the biblical account directly, because I'd rather get as much of my history as possible from the One who was there to see it.
Your entire view of leftism is based on what a bunch of highschoolers think. Maybe people of that age aren't exactly mature enough to properly represent an entire way of thinking.
Actually this is a reflection of all left-wing society, it's pretty difficult, specially in America, to have a civil conversion with someone who's not willing to understand the other side and I find it much more in the left-wing side
"America and the west" The left in America is very different to the left in Europe, both the left and the right in the USA seems like a religion to a lot of Europeans, while, at least where I live, the right seems much more like a religion than the left.
I'm Dutch and I disagree. The environmentalist progressive movement in The Netherlands is pretty much a secular religion, similar to the leftism in the USA. In the uni city where I live, a shockingly high number of college educated people live like Tibetan monks, afraid of harming all life and they act like the world is ending. And when you ask them to back up those beliefs with evidence or quantify how they think climate change will affect them personally, they can't because they don't think for themselves. A simple right-wing idea like closing the borders (which might be necessary at some point in the future) is more than something progressives disagree with politically. It violates their sacred religious principle of non-harm. To even suggest a thing that would consciously prioritize their own survival above that of others (especially if those others are "historically oppressed") as a last resort is offensive in these progressive circles.
@@sietsejohannes can you prove that closing borders is actually going to make a country safer/better? why is it a country like japan is far more comfortable opening its borders and allowing anyone to arrive including the usa but the usa is too afraid to let in 3rd world country citizens but more than ok with other first world countries its not a matter of crime its a matter of cultural hierarchy
@@amberharmsen2497, totally wrong. Japanese visas, just like any other first world country, are super hard to get from a third world country. Japanese are also implicitly chauvinist. Japan has one of the hardest pathways to get its citizenship, much harder than the US.
Man that’s so crazy you didn’t like him, trumps first campaign is what made me full on conservative. I was always anti sjw and believed in traditional Christian values but in secret. I grew up in a very liberal household and up until 2015-2016 I had only watched some conservative UA-cam channels and agreed with all they said. I was first openly conservative when my parents would play cnn every night during the Trump campaign. We would be eating dinner and I would argue with them about why cnn was lying and spreading misinformation about trump and making him out to be a monster when he wasn’t. They were so mad literally fuming red and would call me a Trump supporter every day like it was a bad thing, and I would have to deny it and say I think trump is a bad person and I just didn’t like how cnn was twisting his words, when in reality I loved him and was rooting for him and would’ve voted for him the first time he ran if I was of age I vote (I was 16). It was sad feeling like I couldn’t be honest about my political beliefs because of how deep into liberal leftism my parents were and still are. I remember the morning I woke up to see the news report with trumps face on it saying he won and I swear it was one of the happiest days I’ve ever had I remember being euphoric smiling so hard, but when my mom would walk into the room I would frown and act disgruntled and disappointed 😂😂. Ever since that day it’s been straight red votes for me.
I have a lot of interest in theology, and I was wondering how you learnt more about God. From a low church background especially, it's quite hard to gain complex theological principles. Any advice?
I grew up in a christian community so I can't give very good advice if you don't have that. Our local youth group tackles a lot of these topics that have helped me grow but some people cannot have that. There is a lot of good channels out there like Wendigoons early stuff and I listen to some radio programs as well.
A few book recommendations - Understanding Theology by R.T. Kendall is a great book for understanding different theological positions and it was written by a well-respected pastor from a low-church Charismatic position. It's easy enough to understand and covers a lot of stuff. Incomparable by Andrew Wilson is also really great from a devotional standpoint as it focuses on the different names and attributes of God found in the Bible and it helps with taking theology from just head knowledge into worship. Lastly, Chasing the Dragon by Jackie Pullinger or Appointment in Jerusalem by Derrick and Lydia Prince to read account of powerful moves of God through people in more modern times, as testimony of what God does informs better theology.
I had a very similar experience as you. My parents are basically mainline Democrats and my mom is nominally Christian (not really saved IMO). I considered myself liberal in high school but then fell into leftism in college. I called myself a socialist and was really into Breadtube (Shaun, Vaush, Hasanabi, etc.). In the beginning of last year I got evangelized by a guy who I'd never met and ended up going to a church D&D night of all things. The Christians were nothing like the propaganda I'd seen from the world and I ended up going to the young adults group and getting saved. My church is fairly evangelical baptist/non-denominational. Now I'm literally doing door-to-door evangelism and I'm in two weeknight bible studies. I like how you say leftism is a religion because it 100% is. I'm still in school for my teaching credential and I see people exulting LGBT values as the highest form of tolerance. I see it moving in some directions that might force me out of public school teaching because I'll be forced to teach unbiblical things about gay marriage and transgenderism. I'm already struggling with my three trans students. Between 160 kids I have three trans students! Anyways thank you for posting your story and I'm looking forward to your videos!

I think there are far more of us young Christians than we think. Take heart brothers and sisters. We aren’t alone.
@@jayrome007 I can give you evidence
theologically consistent
they believe the only way to enter the kingdom of god is to follow the leviticus laws
but for some reason all of them wear mixed fabrics and the majority eat meat
none of them own slaves which is commanded by god to do
in what way are they consistent when even the orthodox catholics dnt even follow it
Consider yourself blessed brother (I know you already do). You found Christ in high school! Brother, your story is beautiful and you are certainly not alone. The closer I move to Christ the more I realise my old Leftist ways of thinking are hollow. The love offered by the empire of shame is a mask thinly covering idolatry and self satisfaction. Drawn to the faith because of the love you saw in those who followed The Way. I love it.
You're another capitalist apologist, or what's so bad about your peeps drifting left?
@@coopergates9680 That is a bit of an assumption to make. Although it does have a decent chance of having some truth in it.
To give an answer to your question:
The main issue with people drifting left religiously is when they start putting Marxist principles and modern class and intersectional groups above the bible.
So, in practice the danger isn't so much in drifting away from supporting capitalism, but rather away from the bible and to identity politics focused
Now I have met a couple communist anarchists who were surprisingly friendly towards Christians.
They reject Gods as controlling authoritarian constructs.

taking from the rich and giving to the poor is litterally what jesus was about being anything other than a neo marxist is not only cringe but against what the bible actually asks of christians

As a trans person you are pretty bang-on
it's not "most" mate, *NO* leftists believe in 76 genders, as with most things that was a joke from places like 4chan that spread like wildfire and now everyone and their mom suddenly believes that lefties have 287439 pronouns and want litter boxes in bathrooms. it's all extremely obvious that it's not real to anyone even remotely knowledgeable about transgenderism/gender diversity in real life, subscribing to it regardless is extremely embarrassing
@@calebclark9114 actually, leftists believe there are 425775097 genders. This is because we add 3 more genders every time someone complains there are too many

Best wishes to you. I hope you can find a reformed or at least evangelical church there - I know that they are probably pretty uncommon.

I dont see an issue with leftist ideas and christianity - i fall into both categories.
The last months i have been seeking a better connection to my spiritual side, but my issues with the catholic church are similar to my issues with leftists:
People enforcing a monopoly on opinion, may it be justified or not, cause serious discomfort for me and i am not a person who can easily submit to worldly authoritiy.

Very interesting to hear this, as growing up Pentecostal I had more the opposite experience. In the sense that I had to be exposed to real leftist people as opposed to real Christian people.

I believe that we should be respectful of each others beliefs, so long as they don't impede on each others' agency.
im in the same boat you are im what he considers "woke leftist" as well and its funny he sees that as bad when jesus was actually much in favor of calling out oppression and unjust behavior of others something that never happens in conservatism but very frequently in leftist circles
god created everyone in his image aka unique and mysterious
this includes trans and intersex people
to judge gods creation is to judge god himself
im not a theist i simply point out the beliefs of theists and be like what about this
ive been in theism since i was 7 i left after Lutheran confirmation (partly because i was persecuted and abused by the church because i am trans the "holy pastors" couldnt handle that i was one of their gods creations) i left at 15 and became an atheist and still am at 21
Thank you for sharing this!
By the way, I have a lot of respect for the intellects of the PCA members I've known.
i fucking love these questions prepare yourself for the logical fallacies
im an atheist so most of these questions wont apply to me but i can answer 6 for you
at the end of the day no religion is ever going to be better than another because those that wrote down the tenets were flawed people operating off of their times cultural norms
morality and values change with each new generation and people in an area we call this cultural evolution to insist we base our values off of those before us will lead to the current generation falling behind on the new environment and those around them
a bible should always be adjusted to fit the current times and that requires pastors to interpret what does the bible mean in this context
im an atheist which means i have no beleif in god or souls however i do believe in values even if the bible never cam from god that doesnt mean it still cant be used to better an individuals life however it should ONLY be used for that individuals life not to be used on others
so to answer number 6 it depends because the religion is only as good as the people that practice it if the people insist on living via traditional values they will end up harming themselves and others even if its not intentional
This resonates so much with me. Very similar to my story.
Culture does not come from the word cult , comes from the latin word 'Colere' and that means 'to cultivate' .
Its simply not. As a gen Zer, what most people believe, and was is taught in schools is that there are endless genders.
@@trillabite5673 Exactly. Same experience for me.
Cradle catholic here 💁🏽♀️ I love your channel!
At first I thought this was a troll channel. I’m glad I was wrong, thank you for speaking on these issues.
Honestly this explains some of the comments I've gotten on the internet
For me it was the other way around.
I was raised by Christians, but became a leftist to rebel.
I was a leftist and atheist for years, until the 2020 Election happened.
For the 4 years trump was president I hated him, but one of my friends put me onto Infowars.
I was anti establishment but I thought Alex Jones was nuts, but then he kept talking about Jesus over and over again.
I took another look at Christianity but from a right wing logical world view, it made more and more sense.
Then slowly it turned into full blown Christian Conservatism but with small progressive bursts.
I don’t want humanity to stagnate but we are just running off of a cliff.
you realize the traditionalism conservatives push for the 60s era aka nuclear family dynamic is the reason why mental health exists in the capacity it currently does among the older generation right?
alex jones can talk about jesus all he wants but if hes gonna harass school shooting survivors saying it never happened is that something a christian would do????
the answer should be obvious NO
we can also look towards common evangelical conservatives like marjorie taylor green who is racist and hates immigrants regardless of legal status and is anti semitic
are these people actually christians or are they using a religion to gain favor because they are losing in the polls via popular vote and have been since bush

OMG CHRISTIAN MINECRAFT! THIS IS MY TYPE OF PARTYYY
I was raised anti-christian. Every influence I had told me it was bad. My public school never talked about christianity besides the political situations even though we covered in depth the theology of almost every religion. It's been nice to learn about christianity.
not being taught about chrisitanity isnt the same as being taught to be anti christian
a schools job is to teach you about truth and what is needed to be successful
learning about god doesnt earn you money
@@amberharmsen2497 I was talking about my family.
Not teaching about Christianity but teaching in depth with other religions is hypocritical
To me, this is one of the verses I would point to if someone asks me what kind of God I serve.
the same kind of divine deity that demands his followers own slaves in order to enter heaven leviticus 25:44-46
the kind that allows you to rape women as long as there are no witnesses deuteronomy
the kind that allows you to rape people from cities that dont surrender
I’m really impressed how you can discuss such deep topics while playing Minecraft. You sir, are high IQ, no doubt about it. Might even be a genius. I can’t multitask at all. I have a hard time explaining things even when I’m just talking.
I remember being a mild leftist to a conservative then to those cringy nahti larpers during gypsy crusader time and now recently im now a Christian Conservative
I have a story about re-becoming a Christian
I was raised by my Christian grandparents until I had to go to school (R.I.P. grampa, well my top 2 favorite ones).
Fathers and husbands need to protect their daughters and wives from toxic material and start living a life of virtue
Agreed! Not that I’m complaining, but what about the ‘boys’ or ‘sons’?
@@HeyJuuude-05 Boys too

Watching this video as a "Leftist"(quotation marks because I am conservative socially, something most other leftists would Ostrasize me for) I must say I agree with you on how the Western Left is.
It has gone from Political to Religious, There is a reason I never speak my Mind on Social issues, only on Economic ones, because if other Leftists knew I am trying to return to Christianity and that I am against the woke agenda, they would make my life insuferable until I gave into the way they think.
Great video btw!
You have an amazing story. I pray you stay with God and that your faith grow stronger and stronger every day.
faith is a belief that has no evidence
Zoomer, you right your own music? That's so cool!
Love your testimony and story. Might want to add that Christian’s are pretty heavily split 50/50 on free will
I'm not sure what I believe about free will
I don't know if it's just an american thing or I just avoided it all my life, but I'm leftist (btw, it's not a religion nor a unified belief system, it just encompasses a lot of political ideologies that are economically interventionist and socially liberal) and most leftists I know are normal people just that they have this political belief, like they don't hate you if you disagree (well, some radicals do tbh, but I think that happens in all ideologies).
Oh. I think I get the charismatic movement a bit more. It captures some of the appreciation of mystery that's lacking elsewhere.
This was a properly inspiring story. Thank you.
gender insanity and mandates drove me away from the left too. i really loved your video
This is a very interesting story. I'm personally a non-denominational Christian. I've got a lot of Baptist beliefs though, I guess.
Anyways, i dont know if youll read this comment but its an overall good video and youre an awesome builder!
the job of a government is to ensure that its people is taken care of and that the rights of said people are protected so that all can live lives of joy and happiness
if protecting a gay persons right to marry either due to religious or tax reasons is something that will benefit that couple it should be the governments job to protect that right
to do otherwise is to gain favoritism and to discriminate
if one group has a right the other groups should have that same right plain and simple
Edit 1
Now that I am farther into the video (about 24:00 mins in) I will say that I believe both the doctrine of free will and the doctrine of predestination or predetermination or whatever its called.
Edit 2
31:00 ish minutes in.
Amen brother !
Thanks for sharing your testimony! Have you looked into Messianic Judaism? 😎
why would he all religion cant be proven and relies on circular logic and fallacies
From pentecostal to orthodox/reformed.... started reading church history and the church fathers...
Bro thanks for your content. your education is part of what saved me!!!
This was really inspiring. Thank you
"America and the west" The left in America is very different to the left in Europe, both the left and the right in the USA seems like a religion to a lot of Europeans, while, at least where I live, the right seems much more like a religion than the left.
Wdym Europe has been completely corrupted by liberalism
If that's the case, then you clearly haven't been paying much attention to politics, or simply believe everything that you see on TV.
@@sietsejohannes can you prove that closing borders is actually going to make a country safer/better?
why is it a country like japan is far more comfortable opening its borders and allowing anyone to arrive including the usa
but the usa is too afraid to let in 3rd world country citizens but more than ok with other first world countries
its not a matter of crime its a matter of cultural hierarchy
@@TimothyCrawford305 Thank you! I'll definitely have a look at a few of those
i have advice realize all theism is based on logical fallacies and impossibilities/contradictions then dont be a theist
