    Ha! We all know that the reverse kataguruma is amurugatak 😉

      Amurugatak sounds like a traditional Malaysian dish, or maybe some kind of Philipino knife

    My request is when you do shoot the reversed seoi nage from this sleeve and cross lapel presentstion, can you show your standard variation and other variations that play off of more tori rotation where uke will actually land backwards almost like a Korean reverse seoi nage from the knees...

    I don't know why I love Fireman throws so much. There's a tonne of technique involved but they look like a strongman move.

    Would you be able to cover and talk about mashu baker’s morote seoi nage he landed in the 2015 baku grand slam?

  • @judocrusader5171
    @judocrusader5171 3 роки тому

    We use this throw once in a blue moon, we call it the "mashu" baku grand slam 2015/16. Aussys call it the trickster. It a good one whatever the name.

    Would it be possible to counter this with a strangle as they drop down for the throw?

    • @sway71
      @sway71 3 роки тому +1

      Yes and no. It's all about the grips. Having the sleeve and cross collar grip gives a lot of control over that side preventing any meaningful attacks. If you lose the grip that's another story. Same goes for Tomoe Nage (they can cartwheel out if you don't control the arm), Seoi Nage (let go and you're just standing with your back to the opponent), and even Osoto Gari in a way (If you don't control their posture they can lean into the technique and Osoto the Osoto). I used to never want to use Seoi Nage in BJJ because of the potential for back exposure, but then I began to understand the mechanics of how it neutralizes or minimizes those threats and have gotten much more into all the different variations.

    I specialized in this technique. One of my first tokui waza techniques as a yellow belt.
