    Understood - control the head. Love how you identify common themes throughout different techniques. Great way to learn.

      While on the subject of street - totally illegal in Judo; but if Uke pulls the other way you can grab the front and back of their head with your hands and lift them up pressing hard on the cheekbone pressure/pain points and spiral them down to the floor in this opposite direction - they will hit head first. Its Brutal!

    Mr. @Shintaro Higashi. Thank you so very much for your teachings. The reason why I'm a green belt in Judo right now is because of a combination between your teachings and what I've learned in my dojo. I wish you a speedy recovery from your stroke and thanks again for being an inspiration and role model for many of us judokas

    Criar a situação perfeita induzindo o oponente a baixar a cabeça e ter o tempo certo para entrar o quadril, essa técnica usando o peso do corpo também é super interessante, alguma dica para oponententes muito mais altos ou mais baixos?

    Shintaro: I love the mats in your dojo (i mean from what i see in your videos) always been a fan of the traditional set up tatami green. Are they Fuji mats ? Textured or smooth? Looking to do a dojo build myself so any input / info ya have would be appreciated. Thanks ,obrigado, arigato gozaimashita. OSU!

  • @TheGhostofJimJones

    I was at a meeting with a senior international referee today and asked if the 2nd variation of this throw was legal and was told it was not by both he and my coach, even though I have been using it very effectively during randoori (my coach must not have noticed I was using this.) Can someone here please clarify or give some insight on the legality of this throw? Thank you.

      Why would this not be legal? There's no illegal gripping.

    Great details on Koshi guruma, good for a judo rule set. Not a suitable technique for jiu-jitsu rules. Too easy to be rolled through as you land the takedown so the 2 points end up going to the uke. Also too easy for Toris back to be taken once the fight is allowed to continue on the ground. Great technique for scoring judo ippons though. Great to see those 3 variations. Thanks

    • @af4396
      @af4396 Рік тому +2

      What?? That's non-sense lol. I use the sag version all the time, I just don't continue pushing my hips into them once on the ground, I go right into a heavy Kesa-Gatame and switch to Kezura-Kesa-gatame after. It's literally a throw that puts you right into a heavy side control, and if you're getting rolled through you should work on your weight management or how you take them down (angle vs massive momentum).

    • @jeffs3119
      @jeffs3119 8 місяців тому +1

      @@af4396lol right i was going to say the same. You literally land in control when done right. Just gotta pay attention as you can get reversed in most throws lol. Should be following through with every throw no matter judo or BJJ.
