However I wonder is about reliability and customer service.
A friend had a Hisense U8K 65inch and it started going all uniformly blue, I put it in the warmest setting and was Okish for a while until it turned really very uniformly blue on the entire panel...
The store simply gave him the money back and said Hisense never replaces the screen or fix that.
So the problem is if you really get a very expensive high end one that has all your needs checked and you simply love it and don't see any reason to ever upgrade anymore and warranty ends and the TV goes puff then it's screwed to have it repaired cause nobody here would likely repair such model ☹️

What difference do you think it will make? No one knows, my guess is, all that it will do is increase colour volume slightly in real content. It will still have all the same LCD problems like reduced highlight brightness compared to OLED in almost all scenes, washed out greys. lifted blacks, worse motion, etc... like Classy Tech said, QD-OLED is almost at LCD levels for High APL scenes and has simply the best blacks/contrast, motion, etc....and is around the same price for alot of models so why would you buy an LCD for pure performance it doesn't make any sense. I think he is right.
Moving from a Mini-LED FALD with Blue back-light to RGB back-light will only improve the colour volume for High APL scenes (which are rare in real content, so will be limitied to gaming...which doesn't normally use a super high gamut anyway) that's about it. Nothing to get excited about....

The TV covers like 99% of rec2020, thats better than QD OLED, question is how well it can maintain the closer it gets to 10000 nits, but when most HDR content is mastered for 1000 nits, with a few things mastered for 4000 nits and almost zero content for 10000 nits I don't think its a major concern. If you want 100+ inches and not have it cost a kidney then LCD is it right now. OLED will be gone once microLED gets affordable, and I dont think we'll see affordable OLED at 100+ inches before microLED takes over.

How much difference will it really make going from a Blue/White back-light to RGB? Not much.....I suspect just a small increase in colour volume which will limited to Gaming and the odd rare High APL scenes in HDR content. Don't fall for the marketing....like a higher brightness or more zones means higher quality......FOMO covered the X90L, B7, B9 vs U8N, U9N, QM8 they couldn't even keep up to the X90L in real HDR content. Meaning if the processing can't keep up then all you are getting is a high specs on paper piece of junk.....the X90L is around the same price and is higher quality so the best value would be the Sony over the budget tcl and hisense brands, which seems to be mostly marketing BS! High brightness and zones means nothing if the processing can't keep up. You can see the shortcuts they are making in local dimming processing compared to the reference monitor in FOMOs side by sides. Notice he keeps on saying how the dynamic range is better in most scenes over and over again on the Sonys since it aims for accuracy.

The only thing they can do with OLED is make it Brighter and Brighter every year which in turn puts more stress on the Organic materials. It's good as it's gonna get. But as for MiniLED, MicroLED, QD-EL, Etc. There are plenty ways they will improve the technology overtime. They are already rivaling OLEDs biggest selling point which is Pure Black Levels and next with Better processing they can get closer to OLED response times. It will ABSOLUTELY beat Bravia 9. Bravia9 all Spects MATCH 2023 UX. I am NOT exaggerating. From the contrast ratio. Color volume .local dimming, peak brightness thoes 2 are d MOST identical.
Since Bravia9 has white light at back blending. It wont be able to do the RGB level vibrancy.
Usually --software will Blend colors for entire TV level. Like adding little bit of blue for the Lemon 🍋 will affect the sky 🌌 , tree, 🌲 red apple 🍎.. skin tone. Thats why so hard for tvs to get COLORS right--it is the IN Between colors make d Most image in nature.
Since theere is a lot of blending they ahve to compromise a LOT of colors like Main colors like REDS / Green/ Blue etc.
Since Hisense have the special setup. I assume they can have VERY DENSE/ Vibrant RGB Straight coming from Back. Then the Rest can individually blend the-- in between colors to reach more Vibrant and rich smooth transitional colors more depth, more accruate, more clean.

I think Samsung has them as well, they are using MicroLED RGB instead of blue back-light + QD (R+G) but use alot less of them, will still have local dimming zones like any other FALD LCD. So expect performance benefits to be minimally better than maybe QD-OLED.
Caleb from digital trends mentioned they should just make a bigger blue MicroLED back-light (which would be about maybe 2 times the size of the current sub-pixels in MicroLEDs, so they can make smaller TV sizes and at less cost from making a back-light from the blue MicroLED sub-pixel only and maybe for smaller TVs it could use a smaller sub-pixel and larger displays could have a brighter bigger blue sub-pixel.....) then use QD conversion for R+G. For better brighter blues than any OLED with better colours and all the benefits of self illumination (per pixel control of the back-light instead of zonal control). That could make for one hell of an advancement in brightness and colour over QD-OLEDs and maybe even TRGB-OLEDs!

LCD with zone control will never be as good as OLED, it's effectively over 8 million zones vs a few thousand......without 100,000-200,000 (55-85") it can't get anywhere near as good blacks as an OLED. LCD contrast gets worse the brighter they get. OLED stays the same no matter the brightness. Even with a calibrated B9 (the current best in LCD local dimming control) next to an OLED, the OLED still looks noticeably better for almost all scenes with better contrast, clarity and sharpness.

@barryjones2366 And OLED will never completely overcome the Burn in issue due to the Organic Materials. They can use a million tricks to try to overcome it but, OLED is a Dead Technology essentially. It's as good as it gets right now. The only thing they can do is make it Brighter and Brighter year after year which in turn puts more stress on the Organic Material burning the display out faster. If you sat a normal person in front of a LG C4 vs TCL QM8 what is the main difference that they are gonna notice between the two panels? The Black Levels with No dimming on the OLED. Yes, A Videophile with a trained eye will be able to see things like Artifacts, Gradients, Etc. But the normal person only cares about the Price you pay vs. What you actually notice. Which is why its a good thing LED technology is still being develop ed. OLED is great but Ultimately it's a stop gap technology. Once MicroLED is developed and comes down to Normal sizes and prices nobody will be buying OLED anymore similar to Plasma. Even now if I asked a regular which they preferred. A TV that you can leave on all day any channel you want. It's Cheaper but the Black Levels have a little Blooming. Vs. A TV that has better Black Levels but its way more Expensive, You have to babysit the TV if you want it to last a long time. I'll think alot of ppl will take the former which is why TCL and Hisense did so good last year.

Personally I have it from 2009 in the 18.4" Viao aw11ux laptop and that technology comes from SONY, at least in this unit! Not Hisense. And yes, the colours are so accurate, the RED is vivid and real, and I've been asking myself for LAST 15 years why SONY has not implemented this tech in their TVs?! This screen from 2009 is better than my actual 2023 Samsung Arc 55 in term of Reds. Far away better and full reds vs. my LG woled. Learn from the pros HDTVTest, Choose TV, Classy Tech, AVForums, TecTracks HD, pretty much everyone else is almost useless. 😀 You can have a look at some comparison guys like AVPasion, VRL tecnologia, FOMO, Andy tecnologia, etc... but know that they can get things mixed up at times and show footage that isn't really like that in person at all. Try to listen to their more objective observations only, don't go from what you see on a youtube video unless it's what they see as well.

I no longer have any interest in Hisense products until they begin to clearly label differences in their products for international markets. Here in Australia, their TVs are far lower specced than their USA counterparts and specs are hard to find.

A video that is sponsored and only has glowing comments is concerning. You didn’t mention any feedback on potential concerns customers have and how Hisense is handling this in their new products.
Like is the quality any better, is the software better and more reliable, and how’s the picture processing? I’ve been open to buying another Hisense and or TCL on their higher end models but lack of answers to these concerns is tough. I’d love to see the competition on pricing to continue but how was the quality improved? And will they have this high end tech at sizes between 65-98 inches?

I have 3 Hisense , $7000 in over 6 years , they r hidden Mazratti level TVs . They r one of things ruins SONY LG once u own one .
Before Hisense I had $4000 60” made in Japan Legendary Sharp Aquos Quatrum . No joke their TV makes other brands “up sell tricks “ almost seem like scam .

FONO is wrong. Rtings review says that many Hinense content is shown brighter than the mastered recordings on the UX models. Also it’s well known that Hinense TV;s audio can be buggy.

In case you don't know yet, these were much bigger last year and unaffordable, I believe 300'000 dollars or so. This year they made the microLEDs much smaller and with "affordable" I would guess the price will be around 23'000-39'000 dollars. Give this at least 5-7 years to both arrive in smaller sizes and really affordable prices. Anyways, this is really good news!

I have always been saying MiniLED will just keep advancing and become nearly indistinguishable from OLED but brighter and better colors. The fact is MicroLED exist says it all. So MiniLED can keep advancing getting smaller and over the years Processing get stronger and stronger. So each year some "issue" is solved. TCL solved wide viewing angle with W-HVA panels. ADS Pro panels as well. Now Hisense with RGB MiniLED beats QDOLED by a mile in color volume and gamut. Because the light is pure RGB, not even Quantum dot filter/film. So now that is two more OLED advantages out the window.
With 22-bit and higher light control and higher processing. More and more zones can be used, MiniLEDs getting smaller. Soon you will have 50,000 RGB MiniLEDs and 50,000 zones with gradient lighting and 100% BT2020. Blooming/haloing will be extinct, black levels 99.9% OLED. But you could have 150" screens down to 55".
MiniLED has higher profit margins and cheaper to manufacture.
No burn in, No ABL/ASBL. Cheaper. By the time I am due for an upgrade, I bet MiniLED is basically OLED level and higher (brightness etc).
That said OLED is advancing nicely and it's really cool to see. It's amazing the technology jumps that has happened since 2020. Since 2021 both technologies have been soaring in advancements.

I have heard from a chinese review of the 240Hz 32" Philips WHVA panel that the viewing angles were still quite narrow. They haven't really been measured yet have they? As far as dimming zones, it's diminishing returns for more zones and so costs more and more for the processor to keep up with so many. So not sure how fast that will develop either......things are getting closer though it seems but then you see a really well shot video comparing an LCD (the best LCD, Sony B9) to an OLED and man that OLED is unbeatable for it's deep blacks no matter what's on screen. It seems OLED brightness is developing faster than LCD which is all OLED really needs to improve and is now close enough for high APL scenes, an LCD is just that little further behind for deep blacks, clarity, sharpness, motion, viewing angles, etc.....OLED is clearly superior for picture quality. QD_OLED went a little backwards with deep blacks in a brighter room but TRGB-OLEDs might finally fix that and be close enough for colours too, it just might no tget quite as bright as the new QD-OLED panels but it could be very close, we'll have to wait and see. 😀 I want a fat MicroLED blue sub-pixel with QDs per pixel TV for even better brightness and colours. And maybe near black performance will be even better!

I can’t explain. It just looks more butter smooth clear than pixelated .

    • @barryjones2366
      @barryjones2366 14 днів тому

You know our brain actually can't tell much of a difference between 1000 and 2000 nits? We can notice the most difference between 0 and 1000 nits above this it's just a bit brighter.......since our perception of brightness is not linear, it's exponential. That's why almost all HDR content is graded up to around 1000 nits max and SDR was graded up to 100 nits which was fine for a long time. It actually works like this, you need 4 times the brightness in nits to notice a doubling of the perceived brightness. So 400 nits will look like double the brightness of 100 nits, then you need 1600 nits to notice another doubling of the brightness of 400 nits, etc....then 6400 nits.....to 10,000 nits for the full HDR spec. But our eyes really like lower brightness (they are more sensitive to changes in this range for colour too) not so much high brightness.

True, always falling for the marketing BS before testing has been done to confirm. Hype/sales guys......he is not really a knowledgeable guy, like most youtubers.....they just make a video and talk over them without any real understanding mostly (that's why they use words like bright, punchy and shadow detail, etc.....just the most basic grasp only), like this commentator here......spreading misinformation. How many times I have watched almost of them make simple errors in settings and camera work, etc....embarrassing. Making no sense when they speak about some topics. UA-cam is a cesspit of amateurs pretending to be pros (pretentious), grifters? Sounds like some world leaders even..... 😀
