I’m surprised that station doesn’t have much money considering I paid literally tens of hundreds of dollars to lift the bounty
@Eftinoiu Eduard
Kinda weird how you pay your bounty at the post office then
@Eftinoiu Eduard
Of course it makes sense for the game (so you don’t get gunned down by cops the second you step into the police station) but logically, it makes no sense.
The station does not get the money from the bounty, they hold it until the government collects it. I get what you say though, I thought the same thing until I did some research 😂
@@transittimes2008 Them holding it would still mean the money could be physically present when someone goes to rob it.
I was wearing a goddam bandana and still got a bounty
I wish we could see Dutch in his glory days, like when he was actually doing good and was able to attract all the gang members to follow him with his charisma alone. In RDR2 we see his decadence, starting to lose everything even himself, and in RDR we only get to see the shadow of what he once was, an utterly broken and lost man.
RDR3
@@johnfabianparungo9713 I agree, I think the trend is going backwards since going forwards doesn't make sense. RDR2 was the dying days of the old west. RDR was the true end of the old west. I think RDR3 will be the glory days before the fall. I assume we'll play as Mac or Davey. They get brought up often despite being dead before the game starts and we never even see their bodies.
@ricardo9696 ending on Blackwater heist really doesn't make sense. It's can be end before Dutch can plan heist on Blackwater Heist(maybe start around 1880 and end on 1898)
imagine rdr4 showing all of this from Dutch's perspective
This is what I want rdr3 to be about
Dutch: "Arthur, slow us down"
Arthur:
*Tries to understand the trolley while randomly pulling levers, destroying the mechanism in the process*
"The thing is broke"

"HOLD ONNNNNN!!!!!"
But was it, don't see the Sparks getting out of the panel?
“Tahitians... I guess.”
This is more scary than GTA cuz in GTA would can steal a car and book it, in THIS, you're fighting through the entire city ON FOOT XD
Well the enemy in the same situation too
SO NO PROBLEM

N.A. VI dude there’s a trolley so technically u can book it
Yes
But with magic powers where you can slow down time and restore all health with a half empty potion
Well it isn’t scary at all because it’s a video game, and if you think it is you’re clearly too young and not supposed to be playing an 18* Game.
Great mission. The heists in this game are incredible even when things do not turn out good for the gang.
You right
Wish there were more heists like stagecoach robberies but with the bank, kinda like gta 5

I don’t understand how Dutch didn’t see through this as a set up. It was pretty obvious at the party that Bronte thought very little of them (you don’t need to speak Italian to gather that he was insulting them in front of his associates). Dutch even makes this face towards the end of their interaction, like he’s starting to realize that Bronte is fixing to throw him under the bus.
And he robs the station anyway. Did he really not fucking figure it out, or did he think he could slip through Bronte’s set up and make off with a boatload of cash anyway?
300096586 why would he trust someone who kidnapped a freaking four year old and wouldn’t free him until the gang did him a favor.
Dutch has a big ego, and when he met with Bronte, dutch thought he was one step ahead of Bronte at all times but Bronte saw right through him. Obviously, Dutch wasn't one step ahead because Bronte tricked him.
Becausw they didn't have time to look for other jobs so they took the chance because they were scares that the Pinkertons would find them since the O'driscolls did
Being that they could use Saint Denis for other means could've avoided the whole trolly station bit. They had to rob that damn station
My first thought was: "Dutch sure sucks at reconnaissance." How did he not figure out when he was scoping out the trolley station that they didn't keep much cash on hand? I would have thought he would have seen runners taking the cash to wherever they kept the fares if there wasn't much cash there. One afternoon of watching the station should have been enough to tell him it was a setup. {Spoiler below}
But... I know they gotta keep the storyline moving. Then again... Hosea was losing it too - the way he got scammed by they Braithwaites and later the way the last major heist of this chapter goes. Definitely we are seeing the gang in decline.
I like how Arthur was calm when he said the things broke
He's got balls of steel that man.
and then he goes "HOLD ONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN"
2:18 I really like how calm the station clerk was and how he told them that they don’t have much cash. Such an honesty man

I played this mission so well, got gold metal from the first time and I aimed better than ever before without much dead eye. I'm pissed I didn't record it but hey! That's what creates good memories
Gold medal in this mission is easy
*"We just need money"*
that was helpful Dutch
I think we need a p l a n too ;)
Nice detail how arthur sometimes says "Son of a bitch got me" or "Damn he got me" when he gets shot.
He even goes “goddammit” sometimes when he is being hunted by bounty hunters.
this mission is honestly where it’s just plain fun and not too much stress. it’s like you forget about death and it’s just plain fun
Ragdoll engine and weapons wants to make you do a little bit 'o Trolling. .
The music that plays when you open the door is some of the best in the game IMO

@@josephscaduto9971 okay, "Scaduto"
Bronte did get me to new austin at least with john, i could use to go by myself until they patched it
He is the “King of St. Dennis.”
there's a theory that dutch was actually already start losing his mind and goes insane in this mision because the trolley crash, lenny and arthur had a minor injury while dutch had a massive injury on his head, it can possibly lead to brain damage or concussion.
But some of theory says the reason why dutch gone insane and lost his mind are after hosea's death and gone more insane after arthur's death.
for me, honestly both of this theories make senses. But we should agree dutch are become more paranoid and show a weird behaviour in chapter 6, why dutch thinks john is the rat? because hosea got killed but john are only arrested, dutch thinks this is suspicious. The real thing that control dutch is his mental health, mf went crazy after hosea's death.
Concussion has a different level tho, maybe dutch's concussion is only a minor concussion that perhaps doesnt affect his personality or other thing. but the way the trolley crash and dutch position, the brain injury can possibly be major.
We still doesnt know is dutch actually suffering a brain damage. Waiting Rockstar to confirm this is impossible, probably, because rockstar is not that close to their fans. but let just hope rockstar release like a fun fact for rdr2/red dead franchise or some shit idk lmao.
Also brain injuries can affect decision making
He definitely got a concussion here, I guess the discussion is how big of a part did that play in the end and was he already losing it maybe even before the game starts

@nickboi7270 during the assault on bronte's mansion, you can find a letter written by bronte telling the chief of police to keep his men close to the trolley station.
@@quinnv1905 this comment I made a few years ago was meant to be a joke, Obviously Bronte did rat out the gang

Does this trolley go to Tahiti?
Arthur Morgan i hope so
Fake!
Arthur Morgan Now, which one of you is real arthur, and who is fake arthur!!!
Nope.
The young inexperienced black guy,the more morally sound one and the chaotic one.
At this point I started to see that Dutch getting more desperate
I swear this is the mission where Dutch starts to slowly go insane as when hes at camp he starts to become negative towards u, i think its to do with him banging his head, i stopped on chapter 4 after man of honor so i could go to new austin and still have a fairly happy camp, this was when i played on the old updated version
I just realized Dutch’s big flaw in this and no it wasn’t the part where he literally realized he got screwed over by Bronte it’s the part where he makes their getaway in the trolley yet instead of keeping the guy who actually knows how to operate that thing as a hostage he just throws him out.
Fun fact: There was an actual incident in London in 1909 where two men robbed a factory and hijacked a trolley to get away. However, in that case the cops took another one themselves and a 2 hour chase ensued, ending in the robbers' deaths along with two bystanders hit by stray bullets.
This mission pissed me all the way off ugh 😑 😑😑😑 then when i tried to go back to the town(after paying my bounty) brontos men tried to get me
I hate that it's making me rob the people in the station. Make me go down a whole honor level. Hate this one.

Dutch was losing it from the very beginning, after all he killed a mother back in Blackwater, by all accounts this was out of character of Dutch according to the gang
Blackwater couldn’t have been “that” bad. Your Arthur is stone cold. Nicely done.
One of the best Missions, with arguably the best song in the game!!
I was proud of Lenny helping Arthur and Dutch escape Saint Dennis
The mission when Dutch started going crazy
Nah i think Dutch went crazy after Annabelle
He suffered a head injury during this mission, you can see Dutch holding his head after the crash and also the screen itself was red and distorted just like when Arthur has TB attacks. Dutch definitely suffered a good blow to the head and we all know that can do a lot to a person if left untreated.
Always bugged the shit out of me that Lenny called the Lawmen "Cops" given that nickname didn't become common until the 1920s
It was still used tho
I read somewhere that it was used as early as 1850s
And its original word
"copper" was even used much earlier in 1700s
Thanks very much to whoever played this mission for not using dead eye for every single kill it made for such a pleasant viewing experience.
I remember how during my first playthrough, my first thought was "Oh there'll be plenty of money, it's where you pay off your bounties after all"

I think the hit that Dutch took to his head was more profound than it seemed in the moment
4:22 i love how casual was "the thing is broke" before that fucking crash lmao
that moment when you hit deadeye and theres tree blocking your target 😂 😂
Lmao I love Arthur and Dutch's conversation at the beginning of the mission 😂🤣
Why Dutch ever trusted Bronte I'll never know. They first met and he's clearly cold towards them for ruining his liquor business, then he suddenly changes tone and laughs it off for no reason. The way Bronte was so overly nice to them even though they fucked him over was so suspicious, then he suggests they rob a trolley station in the middle of the city he runs? Dutch was a fool for falling for this
You'd think after all the cops that came after Arthur and John during the grave robbery that it was clear that Bronte had no love for Dutch or his gang.
Lenny's holler at 2:58 cracked me up
I thought that was driver 😂
4:30

DraxTrac The whole game would've been upside-down.
10:55 Mr. Stark

2:48 Dutch has a bad habit of name-dropping Arthur during robberies. He did it during the big bank robbery too. I think Michael's policy of initials only in GTA 5 has me spoiled lol
I can imagine Michael reading books on The Van Der Linde’s exploits and him making sure he only uses initials.
Shooting while holding onto the trolley does bring me some MAX PAYNE 3 memories
Cops be like "ahh yes whistle stops robbers"
when dutch says "i dont dont feel well" and arthur says "you just got hit hard in head"..that the beggining of the end for dutch he goes crazy after this mission

@@ah-uq1cjeh true but what’s the difference between not robbing someone and killing a human being on the street in cold blood? If anything it shouldn’t have made a difference since the van der linde gang was still bad in the end

9:57 Dutch thanking Lenny feels really good. Dutch actually liked Lenny and thought he was useful. Wish he’d lived longer
This really remind me the bus section from Max Payne 3
After watching the story again. I don't just blame dutch and Micah. I blame arthur too. He did always complain and usually at the wrong time. He never offered solutions or stepped up and take reigns, he just would complain. He saw the issues,he was a main member, he should've did more, try to reach dutch more
But after Guarma it’s Micah’s fault
Yeah, I saw the same. Arthur always complains and talks behind Dutch's back, but when Dutch asks him what he thinks they should do in a later chapter, he says "I don't know, Dutch." Well, if you don't know, why do you keep arguing? Obviously, sitting and waiting is not going to do you any favours. Either come up with a plan or don't argue when others' plans fail.
Obviously, Arthur's heart is in the right place, but he lacks social skills and just comes across as a complainer. If we would have played as Dutch, we would have seen someone that only complains while we are trying to escape the law, but we play as Arthur, so people see his side of the story more and are biased toward him.
@@tkh846 Arthur is the enforcer it's not his job to come up with plans. He complains because Dutch is trusting Micah too much and honestly if I were Arthrur Micah would've got shot in Strawberry. Hell all those bullets flying around it wouldn't be far fetched.
Nope it was 95% Dutch and Micah. If you listen to the camp dialogue you can see everyone complaining about the gangs direction after Blackwater.
Hosea even says Micah and Dutch bungling the Blackwater job doomed them and he was right.
Hosea tries for 4 chapters to get Dutch to actually lie low but Dutch and Micah get increasingly more frantic and stupid with their plans, bringing more and more heat in the gang.
Arthur is actually a good tactician and strategist but Hosea and Dutch have always made the big plans so Arthur does what they say.
All the gang members tell Dutch they are scared at the direction the gang is going in but like a cult leader, Dutch plays the "i saved you, I raised you" card and most people stick with him.
If the people who died had lived then Ch. 6 would have ended very differently.
By the end of Ch.4 they were all dead men walking they just didn't know it.
Why would Dutch think Bronte would help him? He was rude and insulted them all right to their face.
Why would a trolly station have money? It probably cost a nickel to ride the trolly all day.
Arthur complained because people died and because Dutch was too old and gone to see a rat like Micah for what he was.
The last half of the game consisted of Dutch repeating"some smoke, a distraction and we disappear", which of course failed again and again.
There were so many red flags with Micah that Dutch closed his eyes to, like Blessed are the Peacemakers, A Short Walk, etc.
Arthur complained as did Hosea because they saw Dutch coming apart and listening to Micah, who'd been with the gang for 6 months, over Hosea, Arthur and John who had all been with the gang for at least 15 years.
This mission probably made Dutch loses his mind after getting his head damage
Dutch does shit like this and then wonders how the pinkertons keep finding them
Best mission ever, especially with dual wield pistols.
“$12 and a quarter”
Doing the math means there was a bloodbath battle in Saint Denis over $91.50

Maybe, but he did kill a lot of innocent people. He knew what he was getting into when he joined the gang, and he paid the price 😢
i dont see enough people talking about the way the camera moves at 2:28
Funny how *every single time* Dutch is involved in a robbery, it ends terribly.
The only heist that *kinda* worked is the very first train robbery, but that triggered Cornwall to hire Milton and this started the entire manhunt.
Why would someone be so dumb to think that a trolley station would have money
Money laundering?
@@patrick-xu1go thanks for answer this idiot
People pay for train tickets and such.
3:07 “does this trolley go to Tahiti”
“Yes”
Could Dutch hitting his head in this mission be a huge factor to him going crazy?
I tihink it was small factor. Dutch wasn't really crazy at the end of the game, just very negligent for human life. I think the loss of some gang members and a certain other gang member whispering things in his ear took a toll on him.
Yeah this, Annabelle and blackwater and loss of members
@@FlymanMS indeed, but damage to the brain can speed up a person's decent into madness.
Think of King Henry VIII, for example. There were many factors in his life, including events, influences, and traits that caused him to go insane, but when he damaged his brain after falling off his horse during a jousting match, it rapidly sped up the process of him becoming mad and paranoid.
Your brain is the most important organ in your body, along with your heart, and when it gets rattled, your mental state will take a complete turn over a long or short period of time. Anger, physical and mental pressure, and trauma sped up Dutch's descent into insanity.

Some say the impact from the trolley made Dutch lose himself
Dutch getting a concussion is a contribution to his declining sanity but not the main cause.
