I started walking 6 miles a day, or rather, building up to it since May of this years. Also lost 30 lbs. And I am close to my goal weight and will keep walking and not quit passed my goal weight as I really like it and look forward to it.
I found the same with jogging, too much pain, but I can walk for miles ( very slowly) with no problems. Thank you for this channel. I've lost 38lbs in 9 months with OMAD and walking.
I've been walking 6 miles everyday for the last 2 weeks. I feel a difference already mentally and physically. I turn on a true crime podcast and I'm golden!
I’ve been watching your videos for about 2.5 years now, I started at 466 lbs and I am now down to 331 lbs. I still eat pretty much whatever I want but do practice Intermittent Fasting and sometimes OMAD. My wife and I both walk at least 2.5 miles a day and sometimes reach 10,000 steps which for me is close to 5 miles but for my wife is a little less since she has a smaller stride. My wife started at 166 and is now 116 as she likes to fluctuate between 115 and 120. I still want to lose at least 111 more lbs which at 220 would look good on my 6’4” frame. Keep up the great videos Kayla!!! We love your channel. ❤️✌️😎
Great work man! congrats to you and the wife, 135 pounds is fucking awesome work man!!!! Keep up the good work brother as this comment was 11 months ago I'm sure you're even closer now to 220. I also in the past 5 months started walking as well, about 6 miles a day. I got motivated when I had always been in decent shape (played football & baseball in high school, and continued baseball in college) but a while ago I looked down at the scale and saw 215 for the first time in my life after a period of being lazy and depressed. I am 6 foot but normally float around 175. Well after 4-5 months of walking 6 miles 6 days a week, I am now in the best shape of my life since I was 18 (now 30) I weigh about 160-165, with more muscle mass than before. Losing this weight has motivated me so much, it's great, now I'm looking to go from 165 -> 175 but only muscle.
I love doing 6 miles in one setting mainly because of stress. You are so correct that giving yourself that time to either listen to a podcast / audiobook / talk to family and friends on the phone really enhances your mood. After, there is a genuine sense of accomplishment and the 2 hrs you'd have spent on TV or browsing online really can never be as fulfilling. Thank You! Keep inspiring!
Hi there thanks so much for your inspiration 🙂 I have been walking 6 miles a day for just over 2 years just because you do it ! When I feel like slacking off I always think.... What would Kayla do and I keep on going 🙂 I have lost 78 lbs and you have been one of my linchpins. I can't thank you enough. love from rainy cold Scotland
Thank you for posting. I've been walking 6 miles every day for the past year in a half. I added walking to my weight loss journey, lost 75 pounds, and I've been able to keep it off for over a year pretty well so far. I also do fasting. I agree with you about walking being a tool. We have to be mindful of what we eat. Cheers to our lifestyles and continued good health. 🤗🤗
I want to walk. I was crazy fit in my youth, but last year, at 67, I had the first major pain of my life: my back, legs, and feet are in so much pain. I can only walk about 1000 steps before my feet and hips are on fire. Even with good shoes and over the counter pain meds I’m extremely curtailed. Having said all of that, I will set incrementally larger goals, because I want to get stronger. It’s hard to be out of shape and in pain, but with IF and small goals I hope to regain my health.
Ive started walking miles a day six days a week to get fit, lose weight, focus my mind, pudh my discipline, sleep after i get home and save money on travel expenses. I feel great and im falling asleep in no time.
I love walking too, its such a great way to not only lose the unwanted weight but it's lovely just to reconnect with nature. Ot plays havoc on you're shoes tho lol. This was a lovely upload.x
@@babbarali2467 you won't beleive this but I just bought myself a pair of sketchers from Amazon and they arrived yesterday. 😀 I've not broken them in yet with a good walk but I'm excited to try them as they look and feel so comfortable.
@@dariamoon4895 I've gone through dozens of sketchers. cheaper on qvc, I don't wear anything else apart from sketchers even at work I got my sketchers on. I can't wear shoes anymore. I walk every where. the weather is getting better now so will be out and about xxx
i mix it up but generally i do 2 miles before work. 2 miles at lunch and 2 miles when i get home after work mostly.....or ill do 3 miles before work 2 miles at lunch and 1 mile when i get home.....i generally walk at a 4ph pace....i did it for a whole year but i kinda dropped down to two miles a day for this extreme heat we had down south for two weeks but now im back to six miles a day
Fantastic channel 🙏 I’ve been watching many of your videos and especially love the interviews, you let people talk and ask great questions. Thank you again 👍
I’m currently on I-10 in New Mexico... and with a pack on I’ve been walking 25 to 30 miles a day. Not fun, but would imagine the health benefits I’m getting.
I can't wear sketches for more than a couple hours never on long walks . I walk 5 to 7 miles 7 days a week. The only shoe I can wear all day and walk in is Ryka walking shoes usually have to order online
I have to say that I’m not able to walk six miles a day, I can walk two, so I don’t do the cheat day. Also, Kayla Cox’s two books add significantly to these videos.
I think walking is great ive always loved my walks but to think I had to fit it into my omad would ruin it for me and to put a certain limit like 6 miles a day wow nope I enjoy my walking but to have to think I have to do it wouldn't work for me but glad it works for you thanks for the video
Do you feel it matters if your 6miles is consecutively or just over the day. Your total miles much be much more if it’s over your day. Thanks for what you do.
Great video im on a 20k steps a day for 30 days challenge n im on day 3 n i already feel it working . I walk/jog about 6-8k steps at 5am n then at work i walk 6-8k steps n i finish up in the evening with the balance i also eat about 1500 cal a day primarily vegetarian 👍
My 3dfitbud step counter arrived yesterday... I am so excited to get started! I'm new to your channel my question is what do you think of 1lb ankle or wrist weights? Tia
Kayla wears regular athletic type shoes. Normally whatever is least expensive whenever she needs a new pair. If she's walking inside the house, she normally is barefoot. - J.R.
6 miles a days a bit much to fit into modern life especially if you work. 3-4 is more reasonable. 3-4 will take anywhere between 45-60 mins roughly depending how fast or slowly you march. Any more than that a day and you'll likley give up within a week.
This is counter-intuitive. It seems that exercise doesn't help a lot with weight loss (it's mostly about diet), but it does help to maintain weight (weird but useful to know).
Did you start off straight from 0 to 6 miles? I am a lot older than you and right now I can just do a little over a mile but that's running and walking, which still does not compare to you! LOL🥰
I would call that 9.65 km, or 10 km as a nice round figure. Once a person goes km, they won't go back to miles because it's easier to translate shorter distances into meters vs feet or yards which don't easily convert into miles.

I walk 10,000 steps a day six days a week. In 5 months i lost 30lbs. 🎉🥳
Woow! Did you follow a certain diet too?
Same. I did it by accident. I wasn't even on a diet. I was eating the same crap I always eat.
I started walking 6 miles a day, or rather, building up to it since May of this years. Also lost 30 lbs. And I am close to my goal weight and will keep walking and not quit passed my goal weight as I really like it and look forward to it.
Do you change your diet or do you eat the same during this time?
I found the same with jogging, too much pain, but I can walk for miles ( very slowly) with no problems. Thank you for this channel. I've lost 38lbs in 9 months with OMAD and walking.
Yes, no excuses. You don't even need to shower. Just get up and walk. Shower when you get home.
I've been walking 6 miles everyday for the last 2 weeks. I feel a difference already mentally and physically. I turn on a true crime podcast and I'm golden!
Would love to know your fav true crime podcast!

Meant to say walking and intermittent fasting # success

Subbed and liked. Your lovely and your content is top shelf

I started walking 6 miles a day before the days of cell phones , by Sunday I was 42 miles from home so I gave it up.
Thank you for this video! Do you walk 6 miles over the course of your day or do you walk 6 intentional exercise miles?
I walk six miles throughout the course of the day
@@babbarali2467 Thank you! I love your podcasts and videos but I always had that question. I think I can do that!
I do six or more miles a day xx
Thank you for this :) May I ask what’s your daily step target?
She has said in another video that 6 miles is about 15,000 st ps for her. ☺️

Hi. I was wondering how your husband learned to adjust to your walking 6 miles a day, especially when you are walking in the house. Thanks.
How much time it takes???
How do you like your new step counter?
How many steps do you total a day? You are walking 6 miles plus your daily activity, right?
Do you walk it all at once ? How long does it take you ?
How Long does this take? And do you work outside home?
What kinds of shoes do you like to wear while walking?
Kayla wears regular athletic type shoes. Normally whatever is least expensive whenever she needs a new pair. If she's walking inside the house, she normally is barefoot. - J.R.
I can't walk that much. Can i still lose with omad?
How long does it take you to walk six miles in door verses outdoor?
Roughly the same amount of time. It's a slow pace either way. About 2 and a half hours and you can watch TV if you want while walking. - J.R.
6 miles a days a bit much to fit into modern life especially if you work. 3-4 is more reasonable. 3-4 will take anywhere between 45-60 mins roughly depending how fast or slowly you march. Any more than that a day and you'll likley give up within a week.
I haven't!
How many time is 6 millas?
Walking at normal pace is about 3 miles per hour…. So 2 hours of walking.
This is counter-intuitive. It seems that exercise doesn't help a lot with weight loss (it's mostly about diet), but it does help to maintain weight (weird but useful to know).
Walking really just helps staying away from the food and it helps to clear the mind. - J.R.
Did you start off straight from 0 to 6 miles? I am a lot older than you and right now I can just do a little over a mile but that's running and walking, which still does not compare to you! LOL🥰
You are just a gorgeous looking woman x
Walking alone will not give you the best shape
I would call that 9.65 km, or 10 km as a nice round figure. Once a person goes km, they won't go back to miles because it's easier to translate shorter distances into meters vs feet or yards which don't easily convert into miles.
