Emma. 2020 movie is awesome! Full of vibrant colors especially her home-just gorgeous inside. All the actors/actresses were great in their parts I thought. A good summerish movie to watch.
Have never caught a vlog this early before. My number one comfort vlogs lol when I say I went and grabbed my book so fast to read with 😂. I found your channel a while back and had been on a huge reading block due to being overwhelmed with school. Your channel was how I found book youtube and what got me back into reading so thank you! I love your content and your spark ❤ I hope you have a amazing day!!
I loved reading Emma! I listened on audio and I think it helped me understand the satirical tone that Austen was trying to convey that I otherwise struggled to pick up on. Also the 2020 adaptation is stunning!
I've recently started binging your reading challenge vlogs, and your aesthetic is just so cute! You make reading look so fun, and it's inspired me to bounce back from an extremely long book slump. Thank you! :)
yes to everyone saying you have to watch the 2020 version of Emma, its is one of my favorite movies, but you should also watch Clueless (1995) which is a modern(at the time) retelling of emma!
Jennifer Lynn Barnes is my favorite author, and The Naturals series is my favorite series by her (and in general)! I’ve gotten to meet her twice, at her book signing in Oklahoma last year (she lives in Oklahoma and so do I, and I’m not sure how I got lucky enough to live in the same boring state as my favorite author) and I also got to see her at a book festival in Texas in April. But at the panels that she was on, she talked a few times about what she studied, which was more specifically the psychology of fandom and theory of fiction, and it was honestly so fascinating, you could clearly tell how invested she was in it, and she’s gotten me into it also. But anyways, that author bio truly does not do her justice. Besides what that said, one of those degrees is a graduate degree from Cambridge University, where she was a Fulbright Scholar. She studied at their Autism Research Centre. And I can’t remember where I heard this but I think she’s also done research on some kind of monkey also. And she’s one of the worlds leading experts on the psychology of fandom and the cognitive science of fiction. I’m pretty sure she’s done more than that, but that’s all I can think of for now. But you can truly see how she has utilized her degrees within her books. And although it may not seem like it, she also used her knowledge of fandoms and theory of fiction to come up with The Inheritance Games series. She came up with the idea for the series using a popular theory of fiction, called the Gossip Theory. This basically means that one of the reasons people might like fiction is because people are naturally prone to enjoy gossip. That could explain why movies like “Gossip Girl” is so popular. And so Jennifer Lynn Barnes used this theory and thought up an idea that would get the whole country or even world gossiping, and so she came with the idea of a random girl inheriting practically all of a famous billionaires money.
I just began to watch this video and I already love it. Love your videos❤❤❤ Also I wanted to ask, where did you get the bookmark that you had while reading The Crimson Moth? Looks awesome
Love a good reading vlog and for me I have to get creative on reading challenges that work for a mom of 2 young kids so I have been doing some brainstorming lately. Glad you finished The Natural series finally and such a good read.
This is off topic BUT i always notice just how beautiful your skin is! even when its not perfect you don't cover everything. Could you do a little skin-care/lip-care/self-care talk & suggestions on how not to pick (if you do struggle with that)?! PLS ⭐
I saw the book cover of The Clackity in your box.. and thought it was interesting that I’m currently reading that book. I don’t see it around very much 🧡
Love the long vlogs! Winnie was so cute in the beginning ❤ being silly on the chair. That's what my cat Bella likes to do too 😂 Emma is the only Jane Austen book I haven't read, except for three of her works which went unpublished until after her death. I have seen so many people reading Emma and not liking her and so it has put me off a little. I think I may have to add it to my tbr so I can finally say I braved it lol 😅 I love the edition of Emma you have, the yellow cover is so beautiful! 😍 I have The Book that Wouldn't Burn on my tbr too! I started listening to the audiobook but I found I wasn't focusing on it. I think I'm going to just read the physical book and just take my time with it 😊
Great vlog as always ❤. I love how detailed your reading vlogs are though I'm a bit surprised by how much you dislike Emma 😂. I was actually named after her by my mum. I haven't read the book in years though but you are making me want to reread it. Also I read The crimson moth last month and I really enjoyed it. I can't believe we have to wait until next year for the sequel after the way it ended.
My first comment! I have never read any of Jane Austin’s works and knew nothing about any of the characters but Emma’s last name surprised as we both share the same last name 😂😂 I had to go read the blurb on GoodReads to make sure that I wasn’t mistaken
Not in Love sadly is my least favorite Ali Hazelwood, and I swear I read somewhere that her next release is going to be similar in terms of focus but now I can’t seem to find it lol. I really want to read Emma because Clueless is one of my all-time favorite movies ❤
aside from Clueless (duh), by far my favorite adaptation of Emma is the 2009 miniseries. I personally wasn't a huge fan of the most recent adaptation, it felt more like a remake of the 1996 film (not my favorite but goofy and fun, great cast) than an adaptation of the novel itself.
I've read all of Jane Austen's novels several times over, and Emma is my favorite! That being said, I completely understand why it's not everyone else's! I've also seen around 6 adaptations of Emma, including the newest one made in 2020 as well as Clueless (which I absolutely love); however, if I may make a suggestion! If you are considering watching an Emma adaptation, PLEASE, PLEASE consider the BBC mini series made in 2009. It is a longer adaptation, but it is really, really well done and captures the characters and Highbury beautifully!!!
I love Jane Austen and even did a course on her novels for my literature degree. However, I think Emma is one of my least favorites. It’s a fantastic novel, but Emma gets on my *nerves* so much. It does make an entertaining, albeit sometimes frustrating read though!
While working on my post-graduate degree for English lit, I took a JA survey course. Pretty much the Whole class hated Emma so much. I was the only one who loved it😂 She is meant to be pretty unlikable, just not to that degree
Winnie is an icon, the camera and the people love her
she is an icon, and she is the moment🫡

So today I was rewatching this vlog and I was wishing she would show the Crimson mouth without the dust jacket really curious to know how it looks
At some point, Katie was talking abt her TBR but I was just stuck on the PAWS I'm sorry 😭
Not in Love sadly is my least favorite Ali Hazelwood, and I swear I read somewhere that her next release is going to be similar in terms of focus but now I can’t seem to find it lol.
I really want to read Emma because Clueless is one of my all-time favorite movies ❤
Over an hour vlog? We are getting spoiled today 😸😸🫶🏻
Love Emma and Clueless!
omg not the emma slander 😂 i love her even tho shes questionable
aside from Clueless (duh), by far my favorite adaptation of Emma is the 2009 miniseries. I personally wasn't a huge fan of the most recent adaptation, it felt more like a remake of the 1996 film (not my favorite but goofy and fun, great cast) than an adaptation of the novel itself.

What kind of cat is Winnie?
Crimson was my last dnf... Idk why it didnt work for me but I think its because i felt zero chemistry between them plus it dragged abit for me
2:00- BEANS
#winnie core# love ur videos your so kind and entertaining❤❤❤
Book recommendation: Filthy Rich Vampire series by Geneva Lee
I DNFed Not in Love, I cared about the main characters not at all. A bummer!
Oh to be able to read for more than two hours.😢
I love Jane Austen and even did a course on her novels for my literature degree. However, I think Emma is one of my least favorites. It’s a fantastic novel, but Emma gets on my *nerves* so much. It does make an entertaining, albeit sometimes frustrating read though!

She is meant to be pretty unlikable, just not to that degree
Winnie ❤
pls read powerful soon
i’m sorry but i couldn’t pay attention to anything you were saying while your cat was in frame.
I prefer the Gwyneth Paltrow version of Emma
😍❤️❤️❤️
Sorry Katie i love you but my attention was solely focused on Winnie at the beginning of the vlog 😅.
Not in Love SO turned me off. I too shimmed many pages.
Not a fan of Not in Love, either.
Whats ur phone case called on casetify?🥹
Just so you know there’s a novella at the end of this series called twelve 🤍
