In order to reach those distances you have to run on the curve. 200 meters on a straight track were once a race, but they are an event of the past. Thanks for watching.
Hey just curious, I'm coaching middle school and I want to know if this would be a good thing to incorporate on their level? If not, do you have any recommendations? I'm trying to find a starting point for research.
Thanks for your question 👍🏽. My answer is below. Q) Can this type of sprint workout be used for middle school kids? A) Absolutely, but the workout would need to be scaled to match their current levels of speed and conditioning. For example, depending on their conditioning, they may not be able to sustain the rest times. Depending on their current levels of speed, they may not be able to reach the necessary levels of speed at the start of the program. But in time with consistency and the tracking of their progress they will undoubtedly improve ✅.
Doing this on the curve is actually more difficult, so well done.
Tristrum,
Thanks for watching I appreciate it!
Surprised you ran on the bend and not the straight. Mad respect
