WHITE FALCON is a GREAT PYRNEES...good herd dogs...sheep.Thanks TIM,for the free mechanic class. GENTRY trucking is the ONLY company, that could lure me out of retirement.
Hello Tim I’m a ex HGV driver. Been driving lorry’s since 1970 and I would have loved a boss like you who have done the job and understand what and when things can go wrong. It’s amazing how many miles you and your drivers do. I live in the UK (across the pond) and most of HGV lorry’s have got taco’s and can only do a certain amount of miles or hours per day. I love the way your family are all working together for the Gentry name which your Dad started a few years ago. (It’s Great). I have watched a lot of your videos but would appreciate if you numbered them so old people like me can make sure that I’ve seen them all in the right order?? I hope you make a great success of your business and get your (200 vehicles) All the very best to you and all your family. Colin Seaman. 94 years old. I really enjoy your videos.
Most down to earth guy on UA-cam, love the channel alot of good stuff you show and teach. My son 12 yr old son got me started on your channel God bless you and your family brother
love your vids.cabovers forever!! just buying my first truck to be my own boss was a diesel mechanic for a number of years and drove now its my time to make it happen going to haul steel on flatbed initially see how goes leasing in to company to begin with wish me luck God bless !! keep on trucking!!
If you need another c13 single turbo conversion let me know. Was on my truck six months and crank broke, so I kept everything. Manifold, non waste gate turbo and all the air to air tubes
I like all your videos shows me a lot of stuff how to fix the trucks I drive a truck with my brother it gets hard sometimes bit's sometimes but we manage it's a frightliner 94 frightliner with a liner with a Detroit like the maroon that you bought
Great video.. love what you do.. I'm slowly learning working on my own just scared to open it up myself. Currently I'm in a hotel on joplin getting a head put on a cummins..hope to see you out there soon
It's easy, just everything is heavy, have to tourqe every bolt to spec, don't just run it up with the impact gun, be careful to keep everything clean, don't get carried away with sealant and get RTV in the oil valleys, you will clog something and it will stop oiling something
The one shoe bandit would fit in with the little rig rat grandson we watch while mom teaches school. Won’t keep a shoe on when he needs em. Love the videos.
Excellent job and video's!! That's the way i learned to fix something!! Lots of luck and admiration for a Great Man!! Shame people can't leave a man's stuff alone !!How you catch whoever done it!! Be safe out there Brother Peace
Nice work, let me guess cylinder number 5 is right next to where the turbo sits? I would heat wrap the turbo when you reinstall it it will help prevent further issues
I live in mo now if you need any help covering your boat loads let me know could come help transport them and either reload it back or bring it back empty just a thought since use to haul for bbg out of knoxville and vonore
Don't buy OEM cat bullshit heads. Look up Robert Calixtro, He owns APC. Makes all sorts of heads, CAT head is 3750 for stage one, he adds extra nickle in the metal so they don't crack as easy. They are also a true flat head. Bought so many from CAT and they aren't perfectly flat. EDIT: also forgot to add, has better cooling design.
Hey brother my friend had the same truck hauling oversize and he had those big fat floater tires on the front said he really liked it I know they're not for everybody have a good one brother hope to see you soon I put your videos on my FB all the time💯😎🤙🏾🤙🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
If you bought that as a c-16 someone’s lied to you, that’s a 3406e 5ek or 6ts 40 pin the water bonnet on the oil cooler on those went in the block at #3. Newer than that they ran to the back at #6. Those c-13’s do pretty good programmed correctly. Do em everyday without issues.
Cat head bolts torque to yield! Couldn't see the best in the video but the passenger side of #5 hole almost looked like it had carbon out past the fire ring. Love the Cat big engines. C7 and C9 were junk throw aways. But the bigger C series engines were good engines. I always liked the load leveler on those heads so you can really tilt the head to get past the front cover.
how is the NEW SHOP doing? love your videos . mom also has great videos ,TIM BE SAFE, LOVE YOUR FAMILY , NEVER TAKE LIFE FOR GRANITE, AND ENJOY YOURSELF
Just bumped my c13 up to 550hp and 1750 torque. I average 6.5 mph with it now and it pulls as good if not better than my brothers 3406e at 550! Only 50,000 on platinum on the c13
Just keep wrenching on those BIG man-sized CAT bolts Timmy-boy, it'll put a little extra lead in ur pencil, ;-) , lol, thank you for thinking of us CAT fans Tim, that was pretty dang cool of ya, WOW!, you bent your breakerbar, that's something ya don't see everyday, lol, I like those old Eagles alot, I really hope your able too revive that one, great video Tim, thanks for sharing.
That’s not a c16 it’s either a 5ek or 6ts 14.6L 3406E. Considering it’s a 40 pin ecm and the oil cooler water jacket setup. The later 1lw 2ws 5ds and 1mm e block had the oil cooler water jacket coming out the back of the block
I owned 2 Kenworths with C-16 engines. There not a engine that you want to own unless you like BIG HP. And BIG repair bills. There a good 20-25% more on internal engine parts over the C-15. And don't even think about NOT running the expensive CAT fuel filters on them. Because you'll think you dropped a cylinder on performance and fuel mileage. And speaking of fuel mileage, 5 if you are lucky. My second truck (W900L) was a heavy haul truck. 4 axles, 2 spd rears. Pulled my 9 axle RGN. Empty it struggled to get 5mph. When I had my 35 ton 4 axle stretch Step Deck hooked to it, it would get 5.60- 5.75 Empty. Loaded with either trailer was usually in the 4's. It had a 18 spd with split rears (3:36/4:33). Unless you're hauling extremely heavy loads and making premium heavy haul $$ its hard to make $$$ with a C-16 engine. Mostly due to fuel consumption and cost.
Trucks are a full time job! We have three Mack’s on the rd. 1 international, two peterbilts and we have three more Pete’s that we are building two more and we have four more Mack’s one is built and we are building another so will have two parts trucks. Not to mention we have ten feed trailers four on the rd and building three more with the other six so yes if I’m not driving I’m turning wrenches
i love your channel now since you have a bunch of cool trucks now you need a mack superliner with they v8 mack motor those turned up with straight pipes sound amazing
Well that's too bad they broke in your shop you need to put a couple cameras , And for me i do in house on engines , I think I check number 5 liner sometimes they crack around the top, Cats and old school Cummins do And When they First came out with twin Turbo I've always thought it was a joke , The old saying was they did not know if they should suck or blow , joke joke 😂😂 But good luck on that head hopefully it's not cracked Be safe
You get right on in there and get"er done brother I'm with you on the OEM you ain't bullshiting it's expensive caterpillars everybody loves a cat one of the most expensive Motors to do work on that's for sure and brother we know you got to be tired it seems like you always got something going on can't wait to see the Cletus run that's going to be cool I'm going to share this on my Facebook you guys have a good one brother love your channel man😎👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾💯
Love the channel but idk how you deal with tracking oil all over the shop i have to have a clean shop and especially shop floor otherwise everything gets inside your daily truck then into your house office etc etc
Did you see that godzilla motor with the pro charger one pro charger on the motor the motor yet. Untuned just slap on And I could just imagine what that Gasser would be like with Cooper chargers I think that transmission would probably explode That kind of power that would be coming out of it With one procharger it is already over 600 horses stock Just one pro charger. Can I wonder what a pro charger would be like on a diesel?
The 3408 was a nice engine, but it'd be financial suicide to try to run one today for profit. Under 4 mpg loaded, and ridiculously expensive to repair and rebuild.
@@immike1945 yea I think the best mpg I ever heard out of one was 5 mpg i know I was talking to a nabors last night with a 13 modle freightliner with a detorit and it was geting around 8mpg Idk if that was loaded or not

That's the only way to learn how to work on engine's. Do it yourself and trial and error. Love the videos. Stay safe.
Those old 9400 Eagle Binders are good trucks....like anything else, it's how they're cared for that makes a difference.
I had a 600hp C16 in my 1999 Pete 379. She was a pulling monster. However she had a bad clutch habit...
I gotta say watching your videos inspire me I was a mechanic before I drove and it makes me want to get a project truck and make it road worthy
Hey Tim. Another great video. Always looking forward to seeing your videos. Hope your neck situation is healing. Tell Brax hello and God Bless.
your one busy man that's how it should be. hard work. great family.

Self taught and proud of it! Impressive work Bro!

Pdi complete set up
Casually mentions someone broke into his shop and ruined his door.

Hey Man we saw your Pete with the big yacht Saturday around Adairsville, Ga on 75 south. It was looking good with the big boat trailing.
Definitely been enjoying your channel your one the people that inspired me to finally work at getting my cdl keep up the good work

Love the videos Tim looking for the jhonny cash cabover video
Love the 9400i!!!!!!! Still have to work on mine. Lookin for a engine to swap in her
Pull the front tires off so you can get to the engine easier?

Great video Tim
Tim have you checked out the switchblade turbo Jaypaydirt is running one on his KW

Did you ever try a air impact . ?
labor saver
It's always the last one that gives you hell
Hay from southwest Florida
Wished we could do a single turbo conversion on my mxs cat
You can get a program to shut down the vvt. Back off actuators and roll
Back actuators off. Put a 6nz ecm on and leave the twins. The stock twins will hold a 1000hp. They are actually a good setup
@@joshhorton6393 it’s running a 625hp tune with a 6nz wiring harness but it’s only pushing 30 lbs pounds of boost during a pull under 30 tons so idk
Sounds derated
@@daneblackburn613 it doesn’t derate it’s set up like a b model cat it doesn’t know when to back itself off anymore. It is a very odd motor

Loved my C-16 but seemed like we were putting bearing kits in the transmission every two or three hundred thousand miles.
Thanks for your positive and straight forward approach to life, and showing us the hands on perspective of being an Owner Operator. 🇺🇸💯💕👊
White falcon needs you to keep him on full time!!
Make it your shop dog seems like a sweet dog
Those Great Pyrennes are stubborn. Doesn’t want to get his paw dirty.
Hay love this channel who ever broken in to your garage is a straight up asshole keep doing what your doing you and your son ur teaching him well
Gonna start calling ya big strong arms
U good buddy
Tim what are you gonna do with the old Acert twins?
Your vids are addicting and knowledgeable great content!!
Good content keep doing your thing man
Did ya buy any of the trucks ya test drive a few months ago. Great video.
Awersome videos i watch them all the time i love truckin keep up hard work
Cracked liner on the cat
If im correct those head bolts are at 350 lbs of torque
Good Job
C-16 in that little international...thing must about do wheelies 🤷♂️
great to watch as always keep them coming
CAT Heads are torqued to 400ft pounds that’s why it’s so hard for the bolts to come off
I think you should set up a time lapse and stand for the camera so we can see you taking this stuff out.
did yall buy silver bullet from ffitzgeralds
I was an O/O for 34 years and I've always found it was cheaper to fix it at home than it was to have it fixed on the road.
AMEN those repairshops on the road stinks and the truckstop well that's ALL I WILL SAY SMH
