Lose that dinky centrifugal clutch and upgrade to the Coleman Torque Converter Kit.
How much is the kit ?
@@alexmarquez4807 $194.00 There is a link in the info up top.
Cool and this makes the bike run faster right ?
Cause I just ordered one and I want to install this to it
@@alexmarquez4807 The gear ratio allows you to get more power to the wheel. Yes.
Everything is fantastic except that torque converter cover !
This is probably a MY fault , however , I had a difficult time getting just three screwed into place. And the forth (lower right facing the torque converter cover) was un-reachable. I trimmed the housing and it fit the remaining bolts perfectly.
Now the housing is rubbing something in there 😳
All well , part of the fun is the chase !
Thanks for all the great videos

Just ordered the stage one carb I hope that fixes it! I really miss riding the little thing. Thank you for all your help, youre the only person that was willing to help. There are good people out there still!
My Ex came with EPA style carb jet. TO remove it, just use a very small flathead-tap it a few times on bottom of screwdriver to "groove" the old jet. press and remove. Mine came out very easily. Then your good to go with new jet. --if you have the tamper proof jet of course...
@@Awavy1 I got the old jet out too just fine but the new jet dosent have any adjustment for idling or air to gas ratio, my bike runs but will not move because of too much gas
@@timmy420qc Interesting, Does the Fake idle adjust screw have enough meat sticking out to cut a small groove in it with a dremmel? Then you can back the screw out possibly? I did the stage 1 kit and the jet is perfect on my EX...Is your emulsion tube in the right way above the jet you changed?
@@Awavy1 everything is correct, just no low end torque at all, I did the torque converter too and Idk if that is part of the issue
timmy420qc can you take a video of what the issue is? Are you sure TaV is all installed correctly? What makes you think it’s getting too much fuel to run?
NOTE TO SELF! Take off exhaust before raising the engine that way no issue with the frame!
That's what this sweet bike deserved all along 🥰
Lol
just ordered mine from you guys awesome cant wait to get it...
Great video, nice set up! The only thing is the hacked up side cover. Use a pair of tin snips for a clean cut.
That's a great idea!
great install video it was simple but yet very detailed would love to see a competition between the stock clutch and gear reduction and the tourqe converter! =) again great video
love ur vids bro
The torque of the engine doesn't ride on the Bolt and washers that just hold it all on the crankshaft the torque is on the keyway
Installed the kit, very straight foward installation. I wanted my chain guard it was easy to add 1 hole on the plate and make a bracket to mount the chain guard to the plate.MAYBE something others would also be interested in?
would like to see how u did it. thanks for your post.
Smart man
It is easier than u think to fall and get your hand or clothes in an open chain smart man for using guard
I'm the third owner of a 2020 colman CT200U ex and im planning on doing all of these upgrades i was planning on it before I saw this vid so thanks😁
Did you take the governor off of it yet.you get a lot more power out of it.
Thanks for the video, my kit should be delivered the day after Christmas...
Hey now, don't be hating, I might make a channel one day... I have enough projects... Lol Merry Christmas, read my other commitment...
Merry Christmas, Sunny !
@2:45.... grabbing the chain while cranking the sprocket with an impact drill... a good way to lose fingers lol
You didn't need to cut off the bar because the torque converter should have a 1 inch plate to put the engine on. That plate eliminates the need to cut that piece off. Unless you were straight chaining it which it looks that way in which case you would just need to cut the mount for the chain guard. I straight chained mine and I went from 25mph to 41 mph. I just lost most of the takeoff speed I had but that's alright because now I can cruise the country roads almost going the speed limit
Not true for me unfortunately. I went to put the backplate on and that rear bar won't allow the backplate to fit flush. Now I gotta youtube how to angle grind and hope I don't end up cutting off a limb lol. Sucks
😂
@@ALEXGEORGE408You lrobably figured out by now but the jackshaft mount can get cut off also.
My Hemi Predator wouldn't fit with it on there.
Did they eliminate the bronze bushing in the driver unit that the belt rides on?
That video was VERY informative. Thank you for sharing.
Nice video blog, Continue the beneficial work. Thanks a lot!
excellent video what I needed to know..since ordered my stuff..great job
I was confused with which was the DRIVER and which was the DRIVEN. So far this video has the best description of these parts. The DRIVER attaches to the engine SHAFT and the DRIVEN attaches to the CHAIN. It is important to know, when ordering a COMET or TAV, because the engine SHAFT could be 1/2", 5/8", 3/4", 7/8" or 1" on the engine you want to install the kit onto.
Nice job...thanks for posting!
I'd recommend adding a peice of rubber / something to where the stands meet the frame under the engine, it'll probably reduce some vibration
I did on the build I'm doing cause I thought the same. Haven't finished it yet so I guess we'll see if that theory is correct
@@BM205 how did it go then?
@@coby4482 I don't know if it's really necessary it might help with vibration but I can't really say for sure
Looks like the straight pipe runs right across the back of the spark plug lead ...as in you have to take the pipe off to pull the spark plug lead off the plug ....as in a common safety ploy when you don't want the engine to start. Also adds another step to changing the plug. So, yeah, I guess you need to have some extra exhaust gaskets in the tool box. Seems like it would've been easier, and safer from burn potential, if the pipe just went back directly under the seat and over the fender ...especially if you add the muffler to the pipe. But that's me Monday Morning quarterbacking ....
Just bought a new camo Coleman 200 cc mini. Ur show convinced me 2 buy.. I'm watching. Let's 🌟' t. 2. Modify.... T3ME
Any way to buy the shaft adapter by itself? I have a complete kit sitting around not doing much just need to somehow adapt the shaft from 5/8 to either a 3/4 or 1in. GPS do you sell the adapter by itself? Hate to buy a complete kit when I already bought one from GoPower for a project I never done.
Nice video guys!
I wish you would have gotten a close up of the choke bracket and jet
I hope Santa brings you a new prefilter sock as you certainly melted that one. But "Let's not talk about that."
What header did you end up using I bought one from you guys and I alredy have one an neither fit on the mm80 frame with the aluminum motor mounting brackets the tilt the engine foward I need to know what to use
It looks like that performance muffler will be a leg burner.
Troy Yarbrough nah it don't
That’s what happens to me
Troy Yarbrough don’t wear long baggy pants or shorts.
Wrap the header with header wrap and you will not burn yourself.
Leg is fine, but it did burn a hole in my kilt.
Anything u could use to cover the holes from grinding the bar off? Some plastic rivets that hold car fender moulding or matting in trunks that u could silicone in wouldn’t be bad....just would like to keep water or debris from getting inside the frame
I filled mine with magnum steel epoxy, sanded it and painted, can't tell the holes were ever there
Why does this kit require you to cut the frame chain guard bracket off and other kits do not? Please explain..
How much further does that stick out compared to the original clutch?
I have a question the vent filter I never ordered it when I got the performance kit does it fit that hose that I disconnected from the back of the old stock filter and what vent filter in specific size do I need or can you drop a link to it from go Powersports or any other website that may have them
Hey boss do you see how you got the chain on the driven sprocket? is there a way to get that sprocket on the other side of that plate? Like do you sell a shaft with those capabilities? The shaft that comes with the kit does not allow the sprocket to be positioned other thn in between the plate and the driven pulley.
Angle sheet metal snips would work for that plastic cover JM2C
Good night I had a question I have a 30 series torque converter on a Coleman ct200u-ex and I was wondering if I put a 40t sprocket on the rear what I keep my same top end speed that I have with a straight chain
GPS!!!!!!!!! I have a question. I have a go kart with a Tecumseh 6 hp Power Sport motor, that wont start. I've replaced the carburetor, spark plug, and recoil start. It has compression, spark, air and fuel. Any suggestions would be welcome. Keep up the great videos. Love the minibke!
This kit will fit in my Baja 200cc? I just need the torque converter I already got exhaust/ filter and jetted carb. I’m pushing 40mph with stock clutch
Do i have to remove chain guard brackets even if u use engine risers, or would I be better off using the engine riser mount plate instead?
Did you get an answer
hello go power sports good luck this summer big fan of all your sponsored guys on youtube rather be welding cars and cameras red beard build break a repeat when i am not building buggies a karts am watching your guys build and i have enjoyed every bit of it they are a blast geat job on your choice of team members its a class act thanks
Dude, try using a comma or period once in a while.
now if i did that then people like you wouldn't have anything to complain about, right;;; thanks for your thoughts, and concerns
I put this tag 30 on my Baja warrior 200mb and it only goes slower at full throttle ,,I took apart the clutch and made sure everything was free of burs and slide good without the springs on,,,put it back together and same issue ,,,,any ideas
I have a problem on my ct200u ex mini bike and after about 1:30 minutes of running it revs a lot and gets so slow I need help with it plz
What are the tools needed for this whole installation of the torque converter?
Can you use that backplate and driven pulley with a different engine?
The larger of the 2 bolts on the right side, what's the best way to tighten it?
An Impact wrench?
I still don't know what these torque converter kits do, or how they work. Is there a video I could watch that would show me that? I got a mini chopper and a 212i want to install but I need a jack shaft because the free wheel is on the right side instead of he left. Trying to learn about these things before I start buying parts.
How tight is the front big nut with spring under it supposed to be on the torque converter
Wow I love this video
I got a moosun torque converter 30 series to install on Baja mini bike but I don't have the metric bolts now it's just garbage in my shed without metric bolts
how do i from reduce the vibraton if possible at all thanks gizmo from leander tx
Converter made the exhaust pipe go even closer to the riders leg
Any idea why I’m backfiring so much when I let off the throttle after installing the stage one kit? I also added the autolite racing plug and it has the zip tie mod.
I have the CT200u red frame. The one with the rigid forks and front/rear racks. Do I have to cut the bracket on this model?
Hello I recently installed modified racing predator engine 212cc. I have torque converter on it the jack shaft screw is wrong thread. What is the size of screw?
Anyone know of a video of a torque converter install on this same bike (ct200u-ex) with a predator 212 engine? Does the chain guard still tubing still need to be cut off when using the risers provided in the kit? Can’t seem to find info on this.
I never got nuts or a gasket with the first pipe I ordered which was the wrong one but I cut it because we're going to use the mini bikes I had to order a new one and that one came with the gasket and nuts
Is there an alternative bike with similar specs and frame etc? I've been looking for one for several months.
I can't buy this in Europe/Germany over the normal sites because they don't offer international shipping and I can't find it on Ebay or Amazon etc...
I have to run in pull n jump on my Coleman mini while choke is on jus to get going. If I try to pull it setting the back tire grabbing kills it once throttled, until Its rolling
sucks that they don't sell the adapter sleeve separate. Save a lot more money buying the $50 1" TAV2 from ebay and buy the adapter sleeve from GPS. Even if they sell the adapter for about $30, $80 is a LOT cheaper than $180+.
??will the clear tav cover fit the coleman ct200 torque converter and and will the clear valve cover fit I have the black ct200u ex
Why did you use a 1 inch primary clutch with a spacer and not just use a 5/8 clutch instead.
I have a ct200 with the stage 1 performance kit and bought the torque converter, but once I put the torque converter on the bike will barley move, am I missing something?
What does the chain have on it to take it off and put back in ?
Do you guys recommend using any locktite for the clutch or header?
Is there a reason you can't skip the risers and rotate the backing plate assembly up? It looks like there's three sets of holes where you installed the bolts where you could use a different set and rotate the assembly up a little
That's my question also.
7:30 I really like that table. Did you guys custom make it.?
Would the Coleman 200 series fit my 196cc Coleman ct200U ex ? I bought a new 5/8 clutch and didn’t fit does that mean I need the 30 series torque converter kit ? That makes it a 3/4 right ?
Awesome!
Do you have to cut off the bracket?
do you have to cut the frame?
I added a torque converter and a stage 1 kit and cant hardly take off without it doing a wheelie. Thinking about pulling it off and putting it on my go kart. Any suggestions before I do
try out a 44 tooth rear sprocket! it lowers your torque a little bit & opens up your top end a lot. I hit about 45mph with a stage 1 & torque converter
any easier ways to get that crown bolt off in the clutch it's stuck and I can't take it off it keeps spinning
If you cut the bracket off in front of the rear tire do you still need to lift the motor for the torque converter?
yes
What about the bronze bushing? Do you dry lube anything?
You guys need to put together a cheaper 40 series, really come on guys, I love what you guys do and paid more for parts than i could have on a big internet site, which is hard to compete with just cause MERICA... I want to support You guys but can you help us out? Oh and thanks for the stickers. Lol. Merry Christmas Go Power Sports
Boohoo
Why didn't the design take the exhaust pipe over the center of the tire.?
It would be nice but it isn't absoultelty necessary...as enters and exits the bike by stepping over the seat
I would keep that flange, with one inch of pipe on it, cut it and make my own pipe going out over the back wheel, it is in the way for sure sticking out the side, why get burnt up.
My screws will not go into the engine , did the wrong thread come with my kit . I am a little lost . And I also don’t see the metal sleeve in the kit
Start it !! Ride it !! lol all fore play and no happy ending make Johnny a dull boy !! Also what the point of the safety wrap after you put the muffler on !? Should come with wrap for the part that's gonna burn you ... the muffler ! Also the parts to adapt the tav seem ... Home Depot ish .. I'm sure you could cut better pieces . Jmo though . Cheers ! Ps. The edit could have been way shorter . Not trying to bash you . My channel sucks lol !
Would anyone have a torque spec for the crankshaft bolt? Thanks in advance!
Don't you loose your stock fuel shut off with this air filter?
What tooth sprocket do you have on it and how fast does it go with the torque converter kit on it bc you do need more torque to run a smaller sprocket
I have a 60 Tooth rear sprocket with my torque converter it's a Beast with my Tillotson Hemi 212 💪😏
Will it work with the Coleman RT200? Also, does the CT200u ex and rt 200 use the same clutch? Can you tell me the jack shaft diameter of both bikes? 3/4 or 5/8? Thanks
Did you find out if it can and where you got yours from because in trying to find out also.
why do I need those spacers under the motor? Why cant I just take my TAV and use those extra mounting holes to have it pointed upwards?
U can use anything as long as it's strong enough
Question, anybody know why my torque converter belt is moving so much as to wear groves on the interior of the cover ?
I just put this kit on per this video. But the driver is barely engaging at full throttle…..any ideas?
Here's my ??? If I remove that faux tool box. Remove the gas tank and replace with a regular tank on top. What have I gained with space. I plan to replace the tool box with a panier and rack on the rear fender.
I have the same model coleman and the bt200x. I noticed they made a riser that kicks the motor up and forward. Have you tried installing those and being able to keep from cutting anything? I am affraid to cut that bar off the ct200u because it fells feels flimsy compared to the bt200x. I ride rough and love jumping my bt200x. But been affraid on the ct200u. And wanting to go with that torque converter setup. But without chopping frame. Thank you for the video. And i will be contacting your shop for the parts.
Do not worry about cutting out that bar on the back. We race off road a lot, and that back area is not where these frames will typically crack. Its generally the two front tubes about 3"-4" below the neck bend. I also really love the riser plate you are referring to that is made by another reputable company.
@@deafduckracing2462 the bt200x is still going strong. But any tips on how to keep those heavy steel fenders on the ct200u-ex. She only rides that bike around slow rear fender fell off on a dirt road. I welded it back on and it fell off a week later. I welded as hot as i could without melting the thin bar. I must of got the minibike built on Friday at 5pm
@@goadmerle is the mount falling off the frame or the fender falling off the mount?
@@deafduckracing2462 the mount falls off the frame. Which you think they would of attached better since its where the vin and serial numbers are riveted. I may have to drill it and run screws through the frame. I contacted Coleman when the bike was only 2 months old. And they dont cover anything on these bikes. Even their welds. I am a certified welder. And told them the welds are shotty. Holes everyhere. The welds on my bt200x are beautiful. The frame on the ct200u-ex is more of a cast metal. And the bt200x is steel. And that cast metal cant handle the weight of those fenders. I found a few other people online complaining about the same problem. And one guy got it taken from police because the vin plate was gone. In California. Appeared stolen.
@@goadmerle Coleman definitely isn’t known for their welding quality control. 🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻
Can I get the parts you removed
What would cause my bike to run poorly after installing the performance kit? It powers then putters...no pattern to it...putters more than powers. I did not install the new jet my carb won't allow it. Also left the vacuum line from valve cover open and hanging...don't know what to do with it. Installed air filter adapter carefully so no leaks. Any thoughts? Engine is new and ran perfect before the exhaust and air filter install. Thanks.
You need a new carb that allows you to replace the jet. Your system has too much air and not enough fuel.
I know the torque converter helps the take off, but I was wondering if it raises the top speed as well.
Billet Parts is the way to go. Higher RPM, Faster Wheel RPM.
all about gearing
How much is it for the torque converter kit? And what about a different jet, intake and exhaust? I have this same mini bike, I just bought it two days ago, it has a lot of torque, but it doesn't have very much speed, which I don't like, so I want to get some upgrades and I'm trying to figure out what it's going to cost me. Thanks
That’s what I want to know is the link for the rest
Do you need to delete the governor with these upgrades?
find a old gas tank from 3 wheeler or motorcycle and put that on instead of the one, on your engine.. looks better and holds more fuel.
Rusty old tank.
Not good
Man my filter sock was so tight to get on I wasn't sure if was going to fit for like 10 minutes
I ordered one of these kits for my Coleman and the spacer for the driver is to small for my motor. Won’t go on shaft of motor.
And another thing how else can I get the jet out of the carburetor because the way that you show in this video in between the slip of the jet I guess my screwdriver broke one side off of the slip so now I can't even twist it out. How else can I get it out to get the new one in
Use an easy out
Just installed this kit, very nice. Mine came with two drive sprockets. Which one should I use?
Check chain
Did you have to cut the bar out?
@@brendan785 yes
I need help. I have the torque converter and a predator 212 motor. Will a stage kit 1 be a good addition?
Stage 1 on everything is a great way to go.
Im not sure if it's the length of my crankshaft, but I couldn't get it to fit
How do I get the old jet out when it's tapered with two edges insted of slotted. I have the exact bike in this video brand new. What do I need to put the new jet in
You'll need to get a replacement carb, yours won't let you take the jet out.
Tap a flathead into the jet a few times with a hammer and it will unscrew out so you can put the new jet in. I guess they are anti-theft jets?
By doing this installment will i have to upgrade the valve springs? Or will the stock springs be okay
Stock Valve Springs will be ok until you take the governor out of the engine.
@@GoPowerSports Why would you pull the governor if you are installing a torque converter. It'll never get to ungovened RPM. And upgrading the valve springs are a waste. The stock valve springs are good to over 5K RPM which the engine will never see with a torque converter and stock gearing.
