If you are new to bodybuilding or lifting weights in general, look up as many videos as you can of Evan Centopani, he is by far the smartest BBer in the IFBB, He's a "thinking mans bodybuilder'
I began watching Evan in 07 and I know that in the future the guy will be Mr O.Great personality and a great bodybuilder who proves how down to earth these larger than life men really are
All grains contain phytic acid (an organic acid in which phosphorous is bound) in the outer layer or bran. Untreated phytic acid can combine with calcium, magnesium, copper, iron especially zinc in the intestinal track and block their absorption. This is why a diet high in unfermented whole grains may led to serious mineral deficiencies and bone loss.
If u put oil in ur protein shake, the absortion gets slower. You can do that in your last protein shake before bedtime. Altough it's not good to do that on a post workout shake, for obvious reasons.
evan has said himself that he doesnt let himself get this out of shape in the offseason anymore. this video is over 3 years old, he has improved ALOT since then.
Finally a real bodybuilder giving advice on a bodybuilding diet and not some smaller than average guy trying to give advice and passing himself off as knowledgeable and a bodybuilder!
there's no such thing as an offseason!!! that's why my boy Evan eats like a bodybuilder should year round... none of this processed crap... its the culture that influenced what you eat... keep it up Evan!!!
i tried to drink oats and put it in shake i guess they swole up inside my stomach and 30minutes later i was puking them back up LOL how do you deal with that shit? leave them longer in shake before u drink? i drunk it straight after mixing it
Yeah I should eat more. I have heard for many years that it´s not good to eat many whole eggs. Sometimes I eat a couple of whole eggs but if I eat 6 eggs in one meal I only eat egg whites.
@silviu20082009 maybe you should start using instinctive training. ask yourself these questions...why do i train 5 days? is it necessary for my body? am i doing my harm than good? should i cut back on my training? how long am i training for? do i exhaust myself on my workouts? do i have the desire and motivation during all 5 days?? should i incorporate more cardio instead? answer those questions and do what works for your own body instead of asking ppl online how you should train YOUR OWN body
Maybe I've missed something in reading about how many bodybuilders use oatmeal....but can anybody tell me why it seems they all use the instant oatmeal instead of classic???
I think his argument though was that dietary cholesterol doesn't = LDL cholesterol. Like when people used to think eating fat will make you fat, that's not really how it works.
i straight drink my oats with water uncooked, dont even throw em in the shake, i can smash 2 cups in a couple minutes, thats the most convenient high carb breakfast ever lol i love it
That breakfast looks exactly like mine! I have a protien shake with water and oats upon waking then 30 minutes later 4 egg whites and 2 yolks scrambled with wholemeal toast and a glass of OJ. Funny that this guy is like 300lb and i'm only 160.. lol. It goes to show the power of steriods and having a few more yolks!
@Doplarmusic Actually, they just don't 'waste' money on a lot of material things that most people do. When you are a true athlete you invest all of your time and 'money' into doing what you love.
@jozanstarks he probably knows that he comes in a little bloated too. just a matter of time until he dials in the prep diet. trial and error, but he'll get there eventually if he keeps going for it. but as you can see the man loves to eat (me too!), and knows how to cook really well!!!
@justrelaxin but every sport requires a higher caloric intake, distance runners could eat upto 10,000 calories , mainly from carbohydrate sources, that figure represents maybe a weeks food for an impoveraged African family. To run the computer you watched this video on could represent a lifetime's supply of energy useage for that same village, does that make you a jerk?
thats his parents house. he was living there while his house was being built, he lives in a huge house now that he renovated and did all the work on himself
i love how he admits to "cheating" with his nutrition by using butter... i love this dude, the only honest bodybuilder around, i wonder if he's heard of butter flavored PAM though?? who cares this dudes awesome either way
Seven eggs maximum per week? I know people that eat through a 12-egg pack in a DAY for many years and still standing strong with normal cholestrol levels.
i love oats too. i think oats are one of the best, most complex source of carbohydrates, not to mention that its high in fiber and cheap too. convenient too with your shakes. one of the best around. none of that baked potato bullshit (lol)
I've heard the body can only process 25-30g of protein at any one time. The rest is just excreted so by consuming this much protein he's not doing himself any extra good. Unless his body somehow processes more protein.
this is from 4 years ago, Evan admits that he used to get too heavy in the offseason, he doesnt do that anymore. Besides, he was obese when he was a child, he wasnt gifted with a fast metabolism
where are you getting this? I never said the pros are "sacrificing 24/7" and yes I agree with you, you dont need to cut out everything. But like I said, just because he eats ezekiel bread doesnt mean hes not flexible. its just funny when i hear people say "why eat ezekiel bread when you can eat white bread" its just stupid compromising, if thats the logic, then why even bodybuild? its just stupid when people say things like that, its people like that who are the ones overanalyzing.
Preparing your meals in advance really forces you to eat healthy and saves you money in the process. If any of your health conscious viewers want to work their midsection - we encourage them to visit us at the AbStand.
you completely miss the fact that omega 3 eggs are DHA and not AHA.Coming form flaxseed which has proven to have a very samll absorption and conversion rate in the human body.I am glad that you corrected him by staing that eggs need to be cooked. Regarding cholesterol yes there are ways to choose HDL solely but exercise has a very sparing effect on blood lipids. If you are eating well ,not sonsuming too much sat fat and are generally healthy it will not kill you to eat LDL foods.
@THEGODOVROIDZ also hes probably running like a gram of test a week .... maybe more ..... with a lot of growth .... but yeaa food is allways the most important aspect ..... offseason and pre-contest ..... ALLWAYS ..... but also the gear and training all have to be on point
it a very healthy bread with mineral and vitamin like you most likey find it in whole food where people buy extreamly healthy stuff or in publix i saw it the other day i was shock cuz that bread is very hard to get only in places like i said right now .in health food and in publix you ll find it in the refrigerator only cuz that a bread that once it out in the open it goes bad really really quick .. it a excellent carb with egg by far !!!!!!!!!! and alot of fiber and nutrient
@hxchunter thats great are you a competitive bodybuilder? they take steroids and workout for 2 hours at a time sometimes twice a day. see if you get big working out 45 minutes and drinking whey lol
things like creatine, bcaa's etc help the body synthesize protein better....whether he's on AAS, most likely but thats irrelevant its the standard for the sport
If you are new to bodybuilding or lifting weights in general, look up as many videos as you can of Evan Centopani, he is by far the smartest BBer in the IFBB, He's a "thinking mans bodybuilder'
teah love his vids :)
was looking for this classic vid. Always a nice treat to watch during a precontest meal
I love this dude. He’s so laid back and smart.
I'm curious what he does for a living, haha his house is huge and amazing and the man is only like 27!!
hes a pro bodybuilder haha. im sure his family is successful. Probably a good upbringing around hard working people :)
He lived with his fam around that time
I began watching Evan in 07 and I know that in the future the guy will be Mr O.Great personality and a great bodybuilder who proves how down to earth these larger than life men really are
Thank you Evan, for sharing your recipe 👍👍
i really cant eat much in the morning so i blend up my eggs with a cup of oatmeal and drink, does this have the same benefit as eating them?
Watching this while eating Thanksgiving leftovers!!! This dude is picking his foods while I'm just shoving mashed potatoes into my mouth!!
You and me both man, that always catches me off guard! His timing couldn't have been better Lol
All grains contain phytic acid (an organic acid in which phosphorous is bound) in the outer layer or bran. Untreated phytic acid can combine with calcium, magnesium, copper, iron especially zinc in the intestinal track and block their absorption. So true! But raw? Could you elaborate on that? Thanks!
If u put oil in ur protein shake, the absortion gets slower. You can do that in your last protein shake before bedtime.

evan has said himself that he doesnt let himself get this out of shape in the offseason anymore. this video is over 3 years old, he has improved ALOT since then.
I use to have 2 raw eggs in my protein shake every morning. And mix it with 0.5% or 0.1% milk, makes it a whole lot easier to get down those raw eggs.
Finally a real bodybuilder giving advice on a bodybuilding diet and not some smaller than average guy trying to give advice and passing himself off as knowledgeable and a bodybuilder!
This is good motivator bc eating is the most important takes so much consistent discipline
you can by mild or light olive oil can't remember the name, but it has the same calories, but it doesn't taste as strong as regular olive oil
I've tryed it but I don't really probably because wat brand it is. all I know that it help burn fat quick
thanks for the vids!! i use your website everyday and the vids are the best on any bodybuilding site!! md all the way
there's no such thing as an offseason!!! that's why my boy Evan eats like a bodybuilder should year round...
none of this processed crap... its the culture that influenced what you eat... keep it up Evan!!!
i drink my oats to but i like to blen then up first to a almost powder.
its actually around 50 - 60 for normal humans, someone evans size can take up to 80 -100 and keep most of it.
does it help on when you put macadamia oil on your protein shake to muscle to grow
i tried to drink oats and put it in shake i guess they swole up inside my stomach and 30minutes later i was puking them back up LOL how do you deal with that shit? leave them longer in shake before u drink? i drunk it straight after mixing it
Are Bodybuilders and strengthy as their muscles look? Or are they just build up muscle?
Guys, Oats are the "cleanest" carbs around.
I do that too.
Try to get oats in powder or can be flakes.
does anyone know when evan is gonna compete at the olympia?
Yeah I should eat more. I have heard for many years that it´s not good to eat many whole eggs. Sometimes I eat a couple of whole eggs but if I eat 6 eggs in one meal I only eat egg whites.
@silviu20082009

What kind of oil does he put in his shakes...I couldnt hear it
is it true you can buy Ephedrine on gas stations in US?..legal,any one know?
I love this guy, all time favorite bodybuilder already.
Maybe I've missed something in reading about how many bodybuilders use oatmeal....but can anybody tell me why it seems they all use the instant oatmeal instead of classic???
hey evan, do you put macadamia oil on your protein shake...............
pre mixing the shakes? wouldnt that degrade the protien?
awsome to see what to really eat thank you
I think his argument though was that dietary cholesterol doesn't = LDL cholesterol. Like when people used to think eating fat will make you fat, that's not really how it works.
@hptk Eating eggs won't affect your cholesterol. Recent tests show they have zero effect.
i straight drink my oats with water uncooked, dont even throw em in the shake, i can smash 2 cups in a couple minutes, thats the most convenient high carb breakfast ever lol i love it
what brand is that shaker? and where can i get it?
Whats the name of that bread?
Ziko or something.
It's one of many distractions to this thing called life. You can choose to do anything to get through it.
what is that topping which he complained his eggs???
how do u spell that bread name and where can u get it
That breakfast looks exactly like mine! I have a protien shake with water and oats upon waking then 30 minutes later 4 egg whites and 2 yolks scrambled with wholemeal toast and a glass of OJ. Funny that this guy is like 300lb and i'm only 160.. lol. It goes to show the power of steriods and having a few more yolks!

whats a-dex? does it help you lose water?
@vlsswa jay uses pure egg whites from a carton, no cracking needed.
Oil in the proteina shake?
Why?
@jozanstarks he probably knows that he comes in a little bloated too. just a matter of time until he dials in the prep diet. trial and error, but he'll get there eventually if he keeps going for it. but as you can see the man loves to eat (me too!), and knows how to cook really well!!!
why did he put oil in the protein shake?
this guy is an ANIMAL! no pun intended! Awesome!
@farrellzachPHF
His off season diet looks like a cutting diet...Not sure what your point is.
@revskull well spoken man. bout time we hear such a great thing.
He's in the off season... what do you expect him to look like
@millarsnotdead I'm pretty sure he turned pro at 25 and he's currently 27. That's all I know. He's got a bio on his website.
i love how he admits to "cheating" with his nutrition by using butter... i love this dude, the only honest bodybuilder around, i wonder if he's heard of butter flavored PAM though?? who cares this dudes awesome either way
As Jay Cutler once said: "I don't eat for taste, I eat for function."
Seven eggs maximum per week? I know people that eat through a 12-egg pack in a DAY for many years and still standing strong with normal cholestrol levels.
No they got consumed at different times during the day.
i love oats too. i think oats are one of the best, most complex source of carbohydrates, not to mention that its high in fiber and cheap too. convenient too with your shakes. one of the best around. none of that baked potato bullshit (lol)
What does he add at 2:45 ?
@MillerMan8228 consuming 500 calories = consuming 500 calories, solid or liquid. milk is a great bulking food.
left universal, went to prime nutrition. left prime nutrition, back to universal?
+BigA 65 technically....that is correct. He is back with Animal lolol
Thank you, that's exactly what I was thinking.
I've said nothing about eating eggs raw eggs. But eating a whole package per day isn't going to kill you or make you sick.
I kno rite ! , I just watch some of his videos from 2012 olympia prep
@revskull u spelled boring wrong
where are you getting this? I never said the pros are "sacrificing 24/7" and yes I agree with you, you dont need to cut out everything. @THEGODOVROIDZ also hes probably running like a gram of test a week .... maybe more ..... with a lot of growth .... but yeaa food is allways the most important aspect ..... offseason and pre-contest ..... ALLWAYS ..... but also the gear and training all have to be on point

@JimmyJay434 I'm sure you get the point. I was referring to steroids
there's nothing wrong with butter, I don't see why he stays away from it.

it a very healthy bread with mineral and vitamin like you most likey find it in whole food where people buy extreamly healthy stuff or in publix i saw it the other day i was shock cuz that bread is very hard to get only in places like i said right now .in health food and in publix you ll find it in the refrigerator only cuz that a bread that once it out in the open it goes bad really really quick .. it a excellent carb with egg by far !!!!!!!!!! and alot of fiber and nutrient
