it is an iron core single side transformer. there is induction on the second part of the coil causing an added voltage. a joule thief works the same way first current goes through the first part of the transformer winding causing and induced voltage in the other side on the winding which adds to the original voltage.

The circuit boards of CFLs seem to become very brittle with the heat over long use. I find the easiest way to dismantle them is by using a large pair of side cutter to cut the board into the bits surrounding individual components. Quite often all the tracks are cut and the component can then be tested in situ. I then use a pair of fine pointed cutters to snip round each connection. The little ring of copper that is left on the lead can be left or easily removed with a soldering iron. I find this method eliminates heat damage and eliminates the fiddly soldering iron, solder pump co-ordination. Even though I have a special iron with a hollow tip and in-built pump and but rarely use it now for salvaging components. If you want to remove the solder and have no pump, try this. Clamp the board in a pair of self grip pliers. Melt the the solder withe the iron and strike the pliers on the edge of the bench. Usually works first time if you hit hard enough and hold the pliers so the molten solder has a clear flight path. For multi pin components like ICs and sockets try a small blow torch BUT Do this outside and DO NOT breath the fumes. Thank you. I find your videos inspirational.

sir two or three questions
1st why we have used the mosfet and resistance i mean for what purpose.
2nd question why u have divided the primary of T/F into 10:6 and gave the positive between thd 10:6.why the 6 turn of copper wire arround thd transformer.
3rd
T/F works on a.c current phenomena how
It is doing step up to the d.c voltage.sinusuidal wave is neccesary to operate thd T/F. ON DC the flux set up by the primary is constant not varyin so no e.m.f induced in the secondary.
