      This was great, thanks, been searching for "diy electric generator" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Ieanarial Nonpareil Interest - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now )?
      It is an awesome exclusive guide for discovering how to cut your bills and create your own electricity with this secret method minus the headache. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my work buddy got excellent success with it.

    Finally a nice generator design that will definitely work perfectly. Gasoline engine, 12 V dynamo + 12/220 V converter. Absolutely perfect, no nonsense. It can be seen that autot has some knowledge of electrical engineering.

    This was a brilliant idea. Just one thing I would change - swap the green pushbutton switch and the red on/off switch. That way, you could momentarily press the green button to start it, and use the red one as an ignition switch (switch closed = spark shorted to ground = ignition off; switch open = ignition on).
    Lastly, your inverter will only accept 10.5 to 15V DC. If you over-rev or under-rev the engine too much the voltage from the motor will be out of range and inverter will refuse to turn on (as happened to you at the end of the video). To fix that use a DC-DC converter - some $10 ones take 5-32V input and can make a constant 12V output. So your inverter will work no matter the engine revs.

      @@garlandchinedu1120 A capacitor acts as a battery except it dies in a few milliseconds, the reason they are used is so if the engine for some reason randomly changes RPM the capacitor keeps feeding a solid electrical input to the inverter. To put it simply it stabilizes the electricity in the event the engine starts acting weird, if you had a charge controller and a car battery you could also build a battery backup generator that would continue outputting power in the event that the engine runs out of fuel and you need time to refuel it.

      Нет, ошибка в том, что он не управляет оборотами, надо было поставить на заслонку карбюратора RC сервопривод и при повышении тока потребления пропорционально открывать заслонку увеличивая обороты двигателя. Получился бы обычный инверторный генератор.

    500w electric motor running slowly then transform by onduleur with a few lost of energy will give you maximum 300/400w 220v AC
    That works it's really well done and could be really useful if no electricity
    If you want more power you probably need to accelerate the 2 stroke engine but this will consume quickly the gaz tank, and in all cases you'll never be able to produce more than 450w of electricity
    500w generator minus power lost

      the RPM drop you speak of is because the drag the motor presents as a load is applied. Same thing happens in your car when you turn on the headlights or anything that draws a lot of current. a better way to fix that issue is to make it increase the throttle when the rpm starts to sag. using a battery as a *capacitor* while it will work it will ware out the battery as it will not be a regulated charge.

    • @milcotto4153

      @@milcotto4153 I think you miss understood what I said. Of course you would not put the batteries in the generator. What I was implying is that his way of loading the system is improper. He is pulling more current then the battery it's self is supplying. One way to fix that is to get a larger battery that is capable of higher loads. Another is using and different setup to where the alternator is not loaded down so much and or having a bigger 2 stroke that has more torque.

    • @CotyRiddle
      @CotyRiddle 5 років тому

      and if he wants tos tick with using an alternator as a generator he needs to change the regulator to constantly output 13.8 volts as it will eventually kill the battery if it can't maintain that voltage and increase the rpm's that the alternator is turning at. 2300 RPM would work better.

    nice, im going to make my own very small generator wit a tiny vintage motor, might not use a invertter cause i might just use it for something spacific like emergency lighting and mabey as a usb recharging station

    It's nice but it needs a automatically speed control when you have a heavy loads .. If you don't have it the motor will stop running!!!!

      Only a 220w inverter and a 500w generator, it will trip the inverter before it loads down the engine too much...I just want to see how much it can actually pull and see how low the draw makes the motor go

    • @jackfenn7524
      @jackfenn7524 4 роки тому

      Yep, that is true! But the best thing is to have a speed control which senses the amount of juice needed, and adjusts the throttle to match the load.

    it very creative, using an inverter as a regulator. it be a lot better if the motors power be utilized to its fullest by adding a governor, i was expecting that part on your vid on how you'll make it. but then again very ingenious. :)

    Outstanding build, love Dynamos. Could that fit under a mountain bike seat the Dynamo that it is? with a chain going to gears instead of the Small cc engine. just thinking green and you'd get some power after peddling but curious as to how much effort would go into it before revving usable power at a steady rate. Thank you for this build .

    • @vps1014
      @vps1014 3 роки тому

      I'm not great on electricity, but the button temporarily connects batteries to gen wires and excites the generator to rotate which fires the motor..could not see which way round he connected batt wires to gen wires, but if not correct, would "try" to turn gen "wrong way". Batts are not charged by gen using this method, would need seperate charging at correct voltage.

    Hello. Why you didn't use a 12 v motor? And how do you know at what rpm the motor will produce 12 volts? Any kind of help is very appreciated!

      What is so special about 12V? At 24V you can get twice the power out.

      He just used a volt meter and adjusted the rpms of the motor by idling it up till he got 12 volts.

      the amp meter is fine...but as you load this up the rpms start to drop and so do the volts... you can even hear that on the video as he plugged stuff in, the RPMs were dropping,,, but all in all, it will get you out of a mcGuiver pinch ,,, good fun project that you can always build on to

    • @YvonSmart
      @YvonSmart 5 років тому

      @@lakesideinc the started battery is a 4s (16.8v when fully charged) bigger than 12v~13.8v but still can't cause problems. Unless he forgets to disconnect it from the system once the engine starts. Still, in that case, the system will be attempting to recharge the lipo battery which should be safely charged through a balance charger. The lipo pack is just at risk but won't blow up since it's under lower voltage.
