  • Multimedia artist and activist Yazmany Arboleda gave us "10,000 Reasons to Believe" in new realities. His life has been raised by two balloons from his birthplace, Colombia- the murder of his father and the beauty of the Andes mountains from his mother. His 10,000 balloon project sought to disrupt the average Monday morning commute in Afghanistan, where on May 25, 2013, one hundred thousand activists shared their balloons in Kabul. It was a movement to reimagine Afghanistan. "If we stick together and plan strategically we will create our living sculpture successfully in the face of violence," he said on the power of art in public space.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

Im proud to have been a part of this project in India with orange balloons. It was the first of its kind and cause. I believe in 10000 balloons that they can spread joy and happiness to many.
