This is genius!!! Thank you!!! I have a bunch of old videos with a too long intro that I repeated on every one for a while. It’s so annoying to watch. Getting right to the point is great advice!

My niche is, spirituality, which is different from educational content but I think I can apply all of your teachings to improve my channel. Your tips are on point. I mean, why didn’t I think of that? I’m going to have to begin thinking like someone who watches UA-cam instead of someone who’s overthinking my videos to put on UA-cam. You’re brilliant, as always, and I appreciate you!💚
@3:15 SO GLAD to see someone FINALLY point out the problems with asking for like/subscribes, etc. immediately. It's like being introduced to someone for the very first time "Hey, I'm Bob" and before you know anything else about Bob, he says, "Will you lend me some money?" or "Would you do me a HUGE favor". Such a huge turn-off. Same thing with Websites that ask you for your email before you've even found the thing you were looking for on their site. MANNERS. Remember your manners. Brush up on your manners. And USE YOUR HEAD.
😂 I'm overwhelmed, is that a natural feeling? Intros, graphics, B-roll, timing, outro, content, scripts, how to say it at the beginning. I graduated from Film School, and I feel like I'm starting over. Of course getting a Bachelors in Film from Fla State in 1994 wasn't "prime". Their digital filmmaking was JUST beginning, and they had a teacher's assistant teach our camera class. But still, there was experience, and many hours in the editing room. What I LEARNED is you 1) have to take responsibility for what you want to learn, 2) you have to take risks, stretch what you think you can do, do what you haven't done, and 2) you HAVE to put in the time, for quality. I did learn that. :-) Now I'm creating UA-cam videos, and its a totally different, and in my opinion, better animal. But its very niche and formula driven ( ha-ha, like any film). I am re-learning the formula from you, Virginia, thanks!
Hey Virginia! I want to sincerely thank you for inspiring me to JUST START!!!! That 9 day marathon you did, that's how I found you. I posted my first video 2 weeks ago. Fascinating how the first video only has 400 views, second video from 10 days ago has 10k views and the one I posted a couple days ago already has 4K!!!! I'm having so much fun with it!! THANK YOU!!!
I’m enjoying your channel. Good commonsense advice. I’ve had a UA-cam for nearly two years, 12k subscribers, good steady progress. Your channel has helped me focus on areas that had become blind spots. Thank you.

I'm not usually one to comment, but that was such a great video. The number of examples you squeezed in to a 6 and 1/2 minute video was crazy. Thank you!
Great information! I'm thinking Liz was using the photos to cover up her edits, which is a good thing, but you are correct...it's jarring the way she did. Your fix was perfect
Is it not however the case that people have to watch your video in order to think I'm not going to watch this vide (cause it rambling)? So how come one video can get a few hundred views and that other one gets 36,000 views? Yip. She's got a great accent that girl. Loved it. Super stuff Virginia.
I have learned more from watching 4 or 5 of your videos in a week than I have from watching dozens of other UA-camr videos over the last 3 months. I’m about to relaunch my channel in the next few weeks and am going back to do some edits based on your recommendations. Your vids are Excellent! Clear and to the point. I feel I’m watching a real and genuine person. Great work!
Hi Virigina. I've just subscribed to your channel; great practical content and enthusiasm! You asked for feedback on this particular video; I'm sensing a slightly tighter edit than normal, and your use of zoom 'cuts' (is that a thing?) to create a bit of energy. It feels nicely put together, with a good flow. 😀

Hi Virginia! ❤ Thanks for another great video! I’m going to go back and do this to some of my lower view videos! Thanks for the tip! Hope you’re well! ❤❤❤
This gave me valuable inputs for my own editing - you stated everything very clear. Thank you. And also, nothing is more annyoing that the «Like, subscribe, whatever» pre-video. Glad, you mentioned it. The world needs this advice.
2:57 I hate videos that ask me to like and subscribe right at the beginning, I sometimes give them a dislike immediately depending on my mood. I'm so glad you're pointing it out. You get a like from me.
Thanks for this video. I think I should edit the beginning of my current work. Normally I jump right into the theme and I want to try some sort of "Hi today we ..." Into. Maybe I change this. I have one question: I only have top view on what I am painting. Should I do some movement? Some zooming and switching the focus between paper and pallet or would it be too nervous.
I love this! Itend to ramble a bit, which is why I'm keeping my videos really short for now. But it's valuable to keep in mind that I need to get to the point right at the start.
Thank you for the tips Virginia, we are only a month in and want to make sure we are doing as much things correctly from the start instead of a year from now! Gotta go make an intro video now! 🏃💨

Hi Virginia, I finally just decided to take the dive and create my podcast channel. Ive been studying your videos and in this one I wanted to ask on a Podcast channel, what is the best intro formula, do I use the same intro and just change based on a guest we have or I was thinking each episode would be a theme, would that be where the WTF comes in? (Once I pick the theme)
Many thanks for your very informative video 👍. I don't even give the viewers an intro! Will have to rectify that for a start. I've got six main videos (first few were rather shaky, but I've since worked out that turning on the stabilisation does wonders duh ) plus a few shorts. I'm assuming that viewers get bored, and that's why some don't watch the video to the end. Difficult to know what to do for the best, as the whole point of my videos is to show my journeys out and about on my mobility scooter. Are they running too fast, do I cut out the travel to/from my destination, do I include info about the area, do I add AI voiceover because I've no voice, etc., etc., are all questions that I write down to ponder over. My little grey cells are working overtime thinking about which is the best way forward! I guess that once I and many other creators find the 'magic' solution, then creating YT videos will become easier - well, I most certainly hope it does 😂
This video was so good. I enjoy your videos because they aren't the same things you hear over and over on other channels. I feel like there's something I'm missing with my channel, but I can't figure out what it is. Maybe I'm just boring. 😂
Hey! You're not boring. In your most viewed videos you are starting off telling people what you are discussing and what you want to help people with. Those are stronger intros than your recent videos. In your second highest viewed video, you have a compelling "coming up" graphic that grabs attention and then you get right to what you want to talk about when you walk in with the plant. I would test leaving out the yellow graphic with your profile picture on your videos and use the coming up text with clips of the video in your intro. Study what you did in the most viewed videos to get clues for the future one. 😊
Could you talk about the storing part of your clips? I mean how far back do you store your clips and where you keep them. Or do you delete everything after releasing a video? Thank you for your work. It’s been very helpful 😊
Hey Virginia. If we're making new content should we make each video assuming its for existing subs. Or should we approach as though its for a new viewer? Ie limit repeated content, ideas etc. Or should there be a split like 90% aimed at new subs/clients and 10% to existing.
Ok. I tried getting more creative on this one. Would love some feedback. 🙃

I would test leaving out the yellow graphic with your profile picture on your videos and use the coming up text with clips of the video in your intro. Study what you did in the most viewed videos to get clues for the future one. 😊
I'm still binging on your channel! thanks.
Could you talk about the storing part of your clips? I mean how far back do you store your clips and where you keep them. Or do you delete everything after releasing a video? Thank you for your work. It’s been very helpful 😊
Thanks always Virginia
Hey Virginia. If we're making new content should we make each video assuming its for existing subs. Or should we approach as though its for a new viewer? Ie limit repeated content, ideas etc. Or should there be a split like 90% aimed at new subs/clients and 10% to existing.
Great video, love it 🙏🏼👍🏼
Great examples and you put a lot of effort into creating your vid. Well done 👍👍
Thank you!❤️
I am learning new tricks, I am glad I came across your channel 🥰
